Wrong Flirt, Right Trouble: His Uncle Pulls Me Close

Chapter 599: As Your Brother-in-Law, I Can Only Help You This Much

  • Next Chapter

Ivy Sherwood already knew Quentin Blackwood’s strength; she didn’t need to feel it again to be sure. Yet, he insisted on guiding her hand, making her trace every inch of his body.

Blushing, Ivy had to admit she enjoyed it. After all, Quentin’s physique was impeccable. She knew it was a trap, yet she foolishly jumped right in.

Completely hexed by him, she didn’t snap out of it until Quentin guided her hand downward to *that* particular spot. She knew it! It was all a trap!

Quentin nuzzled close. "Ivy, as the saying goes, courtesy demands reciprocity. So now, isn’t it my turn to feel?"

Ivy tried to retract her scalding hand. "You were the one who forced me to touch you just now. I didn’t want to."

"But Ivy, aren’t you going to put out the fire you started? Do you have the heart to watch me suffer?"

"I do!" Right now, Ivy had a heart of stone.

"But I don’t want to watch my Ivy suffer." Quentin’s kisses landed by her ear, nuzzling against her like a large, eager-to-please hound.

"I’m not suffering!" Ivy pushed against him. He was pressing far too close. She couldn’t tell if the weather was just getting warmer or what, but why did she feel so incredibly hot?

"Are you sure?"

She shook her head furiously.

Quentin’s hand slipped familiarly beneath her nightgown. "Then why is my Ivy’s body...

"So wet?

"It’s practically flooded."

He whispered those last few words right against her ear.

He deliberately lowered his voice, his warm breath brushing her skin. Ivy’s cheeks felt like they were on fire.

"Quentin Blackwood!" Ivy really couldn’t take it anymore. This man loved acting like a rogue, and he actually dared to say such things out loud!

She tried to escape his grasp but was simply no match for him. His nimble fingers held her captive, and in the end, Ivy surrendered completely.

The next day.

Ivy and Nina Scott sat together in a café, both sporting massive dark circles under their eyes.

The moment they met, they had pointed at each other simultaneously. "Your eyes!"

"Nina, are you trying to cosplay as a panda?" Ivy asked.

Nina retorted, "Look who’s talking! Take a look in the mirror. Your dark circles are just as bad as mine!"

Ivy didn’t bother checking a mirror; she knew exactly what she looked like right now.

"That’s all because of you..." Ivy said weakly.

Nina slumped over the table. "What does it have to do with me?"

She had barely slept a wink last night. Tossing and turning, her mind was a mess. It felt like divine punishment for teasing Miles Mercer. Early this morning, after finally seeing the message Ivy had sent, Nina had asked her out for coffee.

Now, the two close friends sat together, looking like absolute wrecks.

"That photo you sent me... Quentin caught me looking at it. He insisted I was staring at other men instead of him, and then he decided to ’teach me a lesson.’"

"Looks like President Blackwood’s version of a lesson is quite thorough. He really tormented you to leave you looking like this," Nina said, her eyes gleaming with gossip.

"Anyway, a jealous man is terrifying. What about you? What’s going on between you and my brother? Did you two... sleep together?" Ivy rested her chin on her hand, staring intently at Nina.

"W-what are you talking about!" Nina’s face flushed bright red. "I’m a proper lady! Besides, you know how your brother is. Women can’t even get close enough to touch him, let alone sleep with him."

A man so aloof and untainted by worldly desires wasn’t someone you could just sleep with on a whim.

"Then didn’t you sleep in the same bed with him last night? For someone as conservative as him, why would he let you see his abs and even take pictures?"

Nina was too embarrassed to admit that she hadn’t just looked and taken pictures—she had touched them too!

"It’s hard to explain in a few words. Anyway, your brother has a pretty great body, right?"

"It’s not bad, but my Mr. Blackwood’s is definitely better!"

"Oho, *your* Mr. Blackwood? How good could it be? Pics or it didn’t happen. I don’t believe you."

Ivy replied, "Next time I’ll call him over and have him strip for you."

"You really treat me like a true sister. Unfortunately, even if he dared to strip, I wouldn’t dare to look. A man like Quentin can scare someone to death with a single glance. I’d probably keep my eyes clamped shut. I’ll pass."

After all, in front of Ivy, Quentin seemed like a gentle, considerate, and perfect man. But in front of everyone else, President Blackwood was The Grim Reaper. He wouldn’t even spare a glance for a mere mortal; for ordinary people, just trying to meet him was harder than reaching the heavens.

Ivy ordered milk tea while Nina had coffee. The two chatted away, as if they had returned to the good old days.

Glancing at her phone, Nina suddenly sat up straight. "Pudgy Sawyer is asking where we are. He wants to come grab a drink with us."

"No problem, tell him to come over." Ivy and Christian Sawyer were also classmates back in the day, and they had all been quite close.

Christian arrived quickly. When he saw Ivy, he was dumbfounded. "Are... are you really Ivy Sherwood?"

In his memory, she didn’t look like this. It was true what they said—a girl truly transforms as she grows into a woman.

Ivy offered a faint smile. "Long time no see, Christian."

"You’re a goddess," Christian marveled.

Nina pulled him back. "Goddess, my foot. Ivy is getting married soon, and her husband could squash you like a bug with one slap. Stay away from her."

"You’re getting married too? Why is everyone getting married without waiting for me?" Christian lamented.

That evening.

After the three of them had lunch and spent the afternoon strolling around, Quentin finished his work and arrived to take Ivy home.

"This is my classmate, Christian Sawyer," Ivy introduced.

Quentin nodded, saying impassively, "Hello."

Though it was just a simple greeting, it carried a frigid aura that pushed people a thousand miles away, making it clear he didn’t belong to the same world as them.

"Hello, hello," Christian said hurriedly.

Ivy then left with Quentin. Walking hand in hand, their retreating figures painted the picture of a perfectly matched couple.

Christian turned to Nina. "Where do you live? I’ll walk you home."

"It’s fine, I can head back on my own."

"Don’t be so polite. We’re old classmates, and I don’t have anything else going on anyway. Naturally, I should take responsibility for getting you home safely."

It was hard to refuse such a warm offer. Just as Nina was hesitating, a voice suddenly rang out. "She doesn’t need you to take her home."

Christian and Nina whipped their heads around in unison, spotting Miles Mercer walking toward them.

"Why are you here?" Nina hadn’t expected Miles to show up. How did he know where she was?

"Let’s go. We’ll head back together." Miles didn’t bother explaining.

He certainly wasn’t going to admit that Quentin had given him the address. When Quentin came to pick up Ivy, he had noticed the three of them. Conveniently, he had shot Miles a text, specifically pointing out that once he took Ivy away, Nina would be left all alone with another man.

As the brother-in-law, that was all the help Quentin could offer.
