The Shadow Dragon King’s prestige within the Dragon Domain required no elaboration.

Under the Shadow Dragon King’s organisation, another Dragon King, the Bronze Dragon King, also joined the battle to eliminate the Desolate Ancient God.

The two Dragon Kings gathered over a hundred Giant Dragons, setting up layer upon layer of encirclement around the territory of the Dragon Domain that the Desolate Ancient God had occupied, preventing it from continuing to spread and swallowing other parts of the Dragon Domain.

At the same time, the two Dragon Kings joined forces and struck in person, seeking to utterly eliminate the entity behind all this rotting devastation.

However, they understood nothing of the Desolate Ancient God. Despite several personal assaults by both Dragon Kings, no meaningful progress had been made.

The current state of the Dragon Domain was as follows: under the leadership of the two Dragon Kings, the territory the Desolate Ancient God had consumed had been brought under effective containment, and it had not spread for quite some time.

Yet the Giant Dragons had likewise made no meaningful move capable of resolving the problem the Desolate Ancient God had presented.

Giant Dragons were powerful, but they understood nothing about the Desolate Ancient God.

They could manage clearing out the Monsters born within the rotting territory. However, driving the Desolate Ancient God out of the land it had taken, that was entirely beyond them. They had no idea where to even begin.

To that end, the two Dragon Kings had even dispatched Giant Dragons under their command to various parts of the Dragon Domain, seeking the assistance of other Dragon Kings, to see whether any of them could offer the same support as the Bronze Dragon King, or perhaps provide some method for eliminating the strange entity known as the Desolate Ancient God.

The results had been poor.

Giant Dragons had even been sent out of the Dragon Domain to seek other Divine Beings, to see whether any of them could provide useful information.

This was merely the current state of the Dragon Domain. It was not an immediate crisis, but not a comfortable situation either.

After all, the Giant Dragons could clearly sense that this rotting territory seemed to draw upon the Dragon Domain’s energy with each passing day, steadily growing stronger.

The Giant Dragons standing guard around it had noticed that the Dragon Carcasses emerging from within that rotting land grew more powerful by the day.

Sooner or later, they would break through their defence line, and the Dragon Domain would be swallowed whole.

When that day came, even those Giant Dragons that managed to survive would lose their homeland, and never be able to return to the Dragon Domain.

And if this rotting territory continued to expand beyond that?

The Giant Dragons harboured no doubt that it would, spreading endlessly until the entire world was consumed.

Now, Lu Fan and his companions had declared themselves to be here to deal with the source of this rotting territory, the entity known as the Desolate Ancient God. The Giant Dragons naturally regarded them like a ray of light in the darkness, and were eager to welcome them into the Dragon Domain.

Perhaps Lu Fan and his companions truly were the saviours the entire Dragon Domain had been waiting for.

Having now learned of the current state of the Dragon Domain, Ouyang Bai Ge declared that the Desolate Ancient God’s degree of awakening must by now be extremely high. Otherwise, two Dragon Kings striking in person would not have failed to eliminate it.

Still, there was reason to be grateful. The Desolate Ancient God’s awakening, though advanced, had not yet reached an absurd level.

Had the Shadow Dragon King and the Bronze Dragon King not joined forces to confine it within a certain portion of the Dragon Domain, but instead allowed it to develop freely, it would likely by now have acquired the capacity to devour both Dragon Kings.

At that point, even if Lu Fan and his companions arrived, they would simply be delivering themselves to their deaths.

Across the entire world, perhaps only the Fallen Corpse Ancient God and the Holy Mountain Ancient God could have dealt with it then.

The battle ahead would certainly not be simple. But it was not without the possibility of victory.

Precisely how things stood would only become clear once they came face to face with the Desolate Ancient God and tested it for themselves.

Seeing that Lu Fan and his companions appeared to genuinely understand the Desolate Ancient God in considerable depth, both the Bronze Dragon and the Jade Dragon were overjoyed, and flew at great speed. They quickly led Lu Fan’s group to meet the two Dragon Kings.

Before long, the group passed through a stretch of mountain terrain with peaks layered upon peaks, and Lu Fan felt the view ahead open up all at once.

He looked forward, and his brow immediately furrowed.

Because ahead, everywhere the eye could reach, the land was indeed ruined, and the extent of this destruction was incomprehensible.

Every territory that had been infected was blanketed in rotting mud, pitch black and forbidding, enough to fill one’s heart with dread.

One could easily imagine that to enter it would be to invite Dragon Carcasses to emerge at any moment and give chase.

This sight was familiar not only to Lu Fan, but to the Flame Dragon and the Two Headed Dragon as well. It was a deeply unwelcomed familiarity.

Seeing that not only the Valley of Life, but even the land outside it, had taken on this blighted, dormant appearance, both Dragons burned with fury.

“This accursed thing!” The Flame Dragon breathed fire from his nose and mouth. “You have destroyed our home! I swear will settle this account!!”

Through their exchange earlier, the Bronze Dragon and Jade Dragon had learned that the Flame Dragon and his companion had come from the Valley of Life, and that the Valley of Life had now been completely occupied by the Desolate Ancient God.

Both felt a genuine sympathy for the Flame Dragon and the Two Headed Dragon’s plight, while also stealing themselves inwardly. If this entity was so dangerous, then the Shadow Dragon King and the Bronze Dragon King’s judgement had been correct from the start.

This thing could not be allowed to spread freely through the Dragon Domain. If it did the Dragon Domain would become exactly like the Valley of Life, and cease to exist.

The two Dragons swiftly led the group downward, their destination evidently just ahead.

Lu Fan noticed, with some surprise, an ancient palace below, constructed entirely of a white stone and brick, the age of which was impossible to guess, yet the material remained white as jade even now, clearly no ordinary material at all.

Moreover, the palace was vast, imposing even by the standards of a Giant Dragon’s enormous frame.

*Thud.*

As they landed, Lu Fan saw that while the palace had been maintained intact, there were numerous cracks running across it, suggesting that it had seen battle.

And when his gaze drifted to the very summit of the palace, Lu Fan’s brow rose sharply.

Because at the summit, three entities radiating terrifying oppressive auras in solid form had been run through by what appeared to be scales glinting in a bronze lustre, and pinned against the wall.

These three forms were very strange. They were clearly not Players, but resembled Bosses of some variety.

Despite the considerable time that had passed, the oppressive auras emanating from the bodies remained fearsome. These three must be Divine Beings at the very least, without question.

It seemed the Bronze Dragon noticed Lu Fan’s gaze, and spoke up of its own accord. “That is the Bronze Dragon King’s sleeping palace. Of course, it did not originally belong to the Bronze Dragon King. Its original owners are precisely those three pinned to the wall.”

“Those three were Divine Beings from the outside world. Reportedly, they were already without equal out there. They heard that our Giant Dragons were extraordinarily powerful, and so made inquiries, found their way to the Dragon Domain, and came before the Bronze Dragon King, declaring they wished to take him back as their Mount.”

Upon hearing this, there was utter silence.

“The Bronze Dragon King was displeased by this, and so killed all three of them.”
