Chapter 148 - Bouncy AD

“Pfft! Bahahaha!” Luna burst out in laughter as I finished my story.

“Your girlfriend was getting bullied and you’re laughing!?” I exclaimed.

“No, no, I’m sorry, I’m sorry,” She said. The only issue was that she didn’t sound very believable when she was still wiping away her tears! “It’s just that,” She said, “You all still get along so well. I’m happy about that.”

“Bleh!” I stuck out my tongue, “I need you to electrocute them for me!”

“Electrocute?”

“Yeah! Zap them for me! Please!”

“Hm…” Luna thought about it for a moment.

“Just a little shock! You know that electric gum that zaps you when you pull it? Like that but amplify it by a million times!”

“Pfft, you know I can’t do that.” Luna chuckled, “How about just a little zap?”

“Tsk, fine.” I said, smacking my lips as if I was compromising.

When we got back home, I enjoyed a nice shower before heading to bed. The next day, I was lying on the couch watching a movie with Luna.

You know what? I was starting to think that taking three days off per week wouldn’t be too bad. It’s not like I’m doing absolutely nothing with this free time either; Besides spending time with Luna, I’m also thinking of recipes and researching more materials.

So, although, it is a bit of a money loss, the other benefits more than make up for it.

“Oh,” I let out, looking at my phone.

“What?” Luna asked.

“Rumi’s streaming.”

She didn’t stream yesterday, I assume it was to let the theories that Bin equals Raccoon cool off a little. Which, it definitely had. I think people just assume that ‘Raccoon doesn’t care’ and is the type of person to say things bluntly, so, when I posted that Tawer, it was confirmation to some people that Bin and Raccoon aren’t the same person.

Of course, just that one message didn’t make the suspicions go away completely. In fact, I don’t think they’ll ever go away, at least not until either BinLover or Raccoon gets their identity exposed. But, it did enough, that’s all that matters.

“Oh!” Luna let out, “Should I put it on the TV?”

We were searching for something to watch anyways. We had just finished watched some kind of comedy movie.

“Mhm,” I nodded.

A few moments later, Rumi’s VTuber model appeared on the bottom right of the screen. She was waiting in the lobby to queue into an ALG Royale match.

[Good afternoon, everyone!!] Rumi cheerfully said, [How’s everyone doing today?]

- Hi, Rumi!

- Doing better now that you’re streaming!

[Right, so, I didn’t stream yesterday because of something that happened online. You may have or may not have seen it.] Rumi said.

- Oh…

- Yeah…

- That weirdo’s post?

- I saw that…

- Is Bin okay?

- Saw that Bin got WHO’D on Tawer and I died laughing LOLOLOL

“Right, didn’t you ‘who’ yourself?” Luna asked with a chuckle.

“That darn Raccoon…I swear, when I see her, I’m gonna beat her up!” I joked.

[Yeah, so, I talked to Bin to make sure she was fine, thankfully, she was. So, because of that post, I took a day off to let the heat cool down a little otherwise chat would’ve been unreadable.] Rumi said.

The days passed by smoothly and when the weekend came, Adam sent over 1400 hundred bottles then I was back to working. Nothing really exciting happened during that time. At most, it was just me and my friends bantering in messages. Colby really wanted Flame Queen’s autograph and…Well…I planned on getting him it when we met again, but! He doesn’t know that, hehe.

The only other noteworthy thing was that the second teaser for ALG Royale’s Christmas update released. This one dropped a few more hints that I was collaborating with them, but, it was still a bit unknown to the general public. Though, they for sure knew that a major production class update was coming to the game.

However! Now that we were on the second teaser, it was time to do a little promo of my own!

Hehe…

The only thing was, I didn’t know if I wanted to do a video promo again or just write something on Tawer. But either way, I was going to mess with everyone.

Hm…After thinking about it for a moment, I decided!

“Mouse!” I suddenly said, causing Luna to flinch.

“Yes?” She paused the show and looked at me.

“Can I have you help me with something?”

“…You have a very mischievous smile on your face right now, you know?”

Hailey Burnip, also known as Emperor Dragon Queen, was winding down by watching some YouTube videos. Just yesterday, she had finished clearing the 9th floor and ranked 4th on it—A pretty good rank, if she does say so herself.

She took a sip of water and just as she swallowed, a notification popped up.

[Raccoon has posted a new Tawer!]

Hailey’s eyebrows raised and she opened Tawer.

Hailey visibly flinched when she saw that Raccoon had posted a video. She remembered the last time that a video was posted…

“Haah…” Hailey sighed. She was still a little upset about that cliffhanger.

There was even a good chance that this video also ends in a cliffhanger. Yet, despite that, there’s no way she wouldn’t watch this video.

So, she pressed play.

The video started with a familiar two hands appearing on screen. From the nail paint of a mouse on the ring fingers and thumbs, Hailey knew it was Raccoon.

Raccoon made a few poses with her hands: Bunny ears, a fox face, and a heart.

Hailey suddenly gotten massive deja vu…Didn’t Raccoon do this too when she first announced her bouncy potions?

The hands disappeared from the screen and it looked like someone picked up the camera as the screen shook slightly. A few moments later, a masked girl with soft blonde hair appeared on screen. Hailey recognized this troll…ahem, girl instantly.

It was Raccoon; She wasn’t in her tower climbing outfit, instead, she was dressed casually, just wearing a comfy looking cardigan and pants.

Raccoon waved at the camera cheerfully.

Hailey had a bad feeling in her stomach, she just knew that Raccoon was about to cause trouble.

She shook her head and a slightly amused smile appeared on her face as she continued to watch.

Raccoon raised her hands in a catching gesture. A few moments later, the camera shook slightly as a bottle was thrown to her from off-screen.

Raccoon caught the bottle and gave a thumbs up to the camera.

Hailey paused the video. She had noticed something.

The bottle was different. It wasn’t the same plain, factory made glass bottles that all her potions have been in thus far. This bottle actually had a design embedded into the side of it.

“Wait…That looks good…” Hailey mumbled, zooming into the design. She quite liked it. It was of a small and cute raccoon drinking a potion.

Her first thought was that this was an advertisement or teaser video for new bottles. But after a moment, Hailey figured that it wouldn’t be that simple. Raccoon hadn’t even trolled her yet!

After appreciating the bottle for a few more moments, she unpaused the video and continued watching.

Without even showing off the bottle, Raccoon simply untwisted the cap and then poured it onto the floor.

Hailey immediately recognized it as a bouncy potion.

The liquid absorbed itself into the ground.

Raccoon walked a little away before turning around and immediately jumping, she aimed her landing to where she had poured the potion.

When she landed, she bounced up as if she had jumped on a trampoline and landed a few feet away. But, it wasn’t perfect. Instead of landing cleanly, she stumbled a little bit, waving her arms and trying to balance herself.

A very quiet chuckle came from behind the camera as Raccoon stabilized herself. She looked towards the camera and gave two thumbs up.

“So, it can work like that too…” Hailey mumbled, it was a use she had expected, but, it was nice to have confirmation.

Last time, Raccoon had only showcased the bouncy potion working on objects.

Suddenly, Raccoon approached the camera and then grabbed it. The angle made it look like she was taking a selfie. She flipped the camera around to show a silver-haired girl wearing a mask similar to the one Raccoon wore.

“Huh? Is this her girlfriend?” Hailey commented to herself.

Like everyone else, she had seen Raccoon’s relationship status get leaked. She felt bad for her, but loved the way she handled it. It was something that made her think ‘Classic Raccoon.’ Since she was depicted by nail point of a mouse, Hailey temporarily decided to call this person ‘Mouse’.

Mouse was centered in frame and stood just behind the bouncy spot on the floor.

She made a finger gun and pointed it at the ground. Then, a small lightning bolt shot from the tip of her pointer finger directly at the bouncy spot.

The bolt of lightning bounced off the floor and struck the ceiling before disintegrating into nothing.

Hailey recognized the precise control over mana that Mouse had. But beyond that, she was more surprised to see that the magic bounced off the floor. She wondered if that would work with all skills and magic, or was it just electricity?

She didn’t have a chance to think about it more as the video continued.

Raccoon set down the camera and walked into frame holding another bouncy potion.

Though she was wearing a mask, for some reason, Hailey thought she saw a mischievous smile on her.

Mouse looked at Raccoon and slightly shook her head.

Raccoon retrieved a bouncy ball from her pocket and showed it to the camera.

“Oh no…” Hailey mumbled.

She knew what was coming and she wanted to stop watching but…She couldn’t. What if! And just what if! Raccoon actually shows what happens to the bouncy ball? Hailey wouldn’t doubt it if Raccoon showed it and then deleted the video just to troll everyone.

A case of ‘they’ll never believe you.’

And, if that were to happen, Hailey wanted to be one of the people who knew the truth!

So, with a heavy heart, she continued watching the video.

Raccoon and Mouse tosses the ball to each other a few times before Raccoon bounced it on the floor, showing its naturally bouncy property. She handed it to Mouse who also bounced it before holding the ball in her hand.

Raccoon uncapped the bottle and poured the liquid onto the ball in Mouse’s hand.

“Oh no…Please don’t…” Hailey said, mentally preparing herself.

The liquid absorbed itself into the bouncy ball and Raccoon held up three fingers.

It was a countdown.

The three fingers turned to two.

“3…2…”

And when the two fingers turned to one, Mouse dropped the ball.

The video ended.

“GAH!” Hailey shouted, grabbing her head with both hands.

She expected it! She knew it was going to happen! Yet! She still fell for it!

When she refreshed the page, she saw that Raccoon had posted another message.

“…” Hailey stared at that message for a little bit before silently setting an alarm.

She’ll be damned if she doesn’t find out what happens.
