Chapter 141 - The First Teaser

[Chairman Gramps: Ms. Stella, are you available?]

When I looked down at the text, Luna asked,

“Who is it?”

“Chairman gramps,” I replied casually.

“…Chairman gramps…?” She repeated, questioningly. After a moment she shook her head, “Can you put on some music?”

“Mm.” I nodded and connected my bluetooth, playing our shared playlist before replying to chairman gramps.

[Me: Yep! What’s up?]

[Chairman Gramps: I wanted to talk to you about the first teaser. Our marketing team has drafted a few mock-ups and want your opinion.]

[Me: Oh! That’s exciting! (excited raccoon icon)]

[Me: These are just teasers, not actually revealing me, right?]

[Chairman Gramps: That’s correct. I’ll message you the mock-ups now.]

[Chairman Gramps: (Teaser 1.mp4), (Teaser 2.mp4), (Teaser 3.mp4).]

[Me: Received! (saluting raccoon icon)]

[Me: I’ll watch them and message my thoughts soon!]

After that, I turned off my phone and stretched.

I very well could watch the videos right now, none of these teasers should expose that the Little Bomber is coming to ALG Royale. But! I wanted to properly experience these at home.

“Back home at last!” I exclaimed as Luna and I entered the apartment. Raising my arms to the sky, I inhaled a deep breath as the familiar scent welcomed me back.

“We were only out for like an hour.” Luna chuckled.

“A very boring hour though.” I said, “The only thing that made it fun was you~” I bumped my shoulder against hers.

Luna showed a shy smile,

“You too…If you weren’t there, I’d have been bored out of my mind.”

“Hehe,” I giggled, “What do you want for dinner?”

“Can you make pasta tonight?” She asked.

“Of course. What kind? How about ravioli? We haven’t had that in a while.”

“That’s perfect, thank you.” Luna gave me a peck before whispering, “Love you.”

“Hehe, love you too.” I smiled, returning the kiss.

Just as Luna was about to head to the bedroom, her phone buzzed. She checked it and her eyes slightly widened,

“New gate.” She said.

“Oo! Already?”

“Well, it’s only a low-tier gate.”

“Then are you going to reject it?”

“No way,” She shook her head, “We need all the money we can get. Did you see how expensive that land was?”

“True…” I nodded.

“I’m gonna go over the details with Ashley, are you joining or are you gonna brew potions?” Luna asked.

“I’ll be here,” I said, “There’s nothing different than before, right? Just learning about it and the party?”

“Mhm,” Luna nodded, “Just the same old boring stuff.”

“Good thing you can dump a majority of it onto Ashley, right?”

“Pfft,” Luna chuckled, “That’s certainly an option.”

“Hehe, just joking, joking~” I smiled, “Well, go have fun researching.”

“I’ll try.”

We kissed before she headed to the bedroom.

While she went to look over her gate, I headed to the couch and opened my messages.

Time to check out those teasers!

The first teaser began playing.

The screen was black, only the sound of boots kicking up dirt and stepping on twigs and leaves could be heard. Slowly, the camera zoomed out, revealing the underside of those boots and the footprints that they left behind with every step.

Suddenly, the screen switched POVs, now showing the view from someone’s shoulder. In their hands was a long sword and kite shield. From the sounds of metal clanking, we could tell they were wearing plate armor. Everything pointed to this being a knight’s POV.

Next to him was a mage wearing a big hat and wielding a staff, and a archer wearing leather armor and holding a compound bow.

The archer stepped forward and kneeled down, he tapped the ground as mana began to spread out from his hand.

“Enemies,” He said, “South.” He looked to the right and squinted.

The POV switched to someone in a tree, staring at the group of three from afar.

“Blow it.” She said.

The POV switched back to the knight, who had also started looking south. Suddenly,

BOOM!

An explosion rang in the distance. The group of three immediately put their guard up and looked towards the direction of the explosion—to the left.

The POV changed back to the person in the tree. She whispered into her radio,

“Drink potions.”

The scene switched rapidly, showing two other people both uncapping a potion and drinking it.

Then, they attacked.

A large fireball flew through the air and straight into the knight just as he spotted it. Somehow, he was able to get his shield up in time and block it. The mage began casting a spell and the archer nocked an arrow.

What they didn’t notice was the arrow high in the sky; Attached to the tip of the arrow was a green potion. A glint reflected off the glass bottle as the arrow plummeted towards the party.

The arrow struck the ground and—

BOOM!

[3 Players Eliminated.]

The screen went black and just before the video ended a voice sounded out,

“What the hell kind of potion is this?”

“Hm…” I stroked my chin in thought. The video was interesting, but, it didn’t pop out to me. I wasn’t even sure how this was a teaser for me; that potion’s color was nowhere close to a dynokali’s. It seemed like more of a teaser for the alchemy update instead.

Honestly, probably about a 4/10? In my humble opinion. I liked the explosions though!

I started to play the second video.

It started off with a bang. Literally.

BOOM!

As the explosion cleared up, an all-out brawl was revealed. Sword clashed against sword, arrows and spells flown through the air. It was pure chaos.

There was no less then at least twenty people fighting each other. And each and every person was wearing a Santa hat.

During the chaos and all the sounds of weapons clashing, a quiet, mischievous giggle echoed throughout the battlefield.

The screen switched rapidly as player after player was cut down and killed. Eventually, only two people remained.

A shirtless brawler who used metal gauntlets as his weapon, and a dual-wielding swordswoman who had one of her swords sheathed at her hip.

They both looked injured and battered; blood dripped down their bodies and onto the floor. Dirt and ash covered their clothes and skin.

Simultaneously, the two of them uncapped a potion. The swordswoman bit down on the cap and yanked it off while the brawler untwisted it with his large hands.

The screen showed a dual shot of them drinking the red potion at the same time. They drank so quickly that some of the liquid ran down their mouth. Once the potion was nearly empty, they both tossed it far away.

The screen showed one of the bottles rolling into the grass; Whatever liquid remained in that bottle spilt onto the ground.

A honeybee flew into frame and landed onto the spilt liquid.

The screen cut back to the battle as the two began to charge. But, just before sword and gauntlet connected, the video ended.

“…” I stared at that black ending screen for a solid moment. My lips started to curl up and I felt excited.

That was so much better than the first teaser!

Oh my goodness! I feel excited! Invigorated! Like I could go and blow something up right now!

But wait…Where’s the teaser for me in this one?

I rewatched the video a few times.

Hm…Is it the giggle during the chaos? I wondered.

Or was it the explosion at the very start?

…Should I ask for hints?

After thinking about it for several minutes, the only references to me I could think of was the explosion, and giggle. Maybe there’s also something to do with the potions at the end? I mean, why else would they specifically show the glass bottles rolling into the forest and a bee landing on the spilt…

Huh?

There’s no way, right? Is it just that my potions are so delicious that even bees like them or something!?

…Maybe I’m overthinking it.

This is only the first teaser they plan on releasing after all. Perhaps it’ll be more obvious in the next teaser.

But! We’ll see. For now, I give this one…An 8/10!

I immediately started playing the third video chairman gramps sent.

This one started off completely different than the others. It showed production classes working—An alchemist at a cauldron, a blacksmith at an anvil, an enchanter using a pen on equipment. It showed each of these side by side, lingering on every class for a moment.

Suddenly, everyone finished working at the same time. The alchemist bottled up a blue-green liquid; The blacksmith lifted a shiny metal sword; And the enchanter looked at a glowing chest plate.

A smooth transition followed. Someone poured the potion onto the ground; Someone swung the sword; and someone put on the chest plate.

“Are you ready?” The narrator said, “For something new?”

The video ended there and I was left staring at a black screen.

“…That was so boring!” I exclaimed.

I mean, I think I get what they were going for.

This was a teaser for the new production class overhaul. But, it was just so boring that I wanted to click off the video! I think that potion was supposed to be the bouncy potion—at least, they used the same colored liquid. But, for one, that’s so obvious! Oh my! Would you look at that, Raccoon is planning on selling her bouncy potions and suddenly, there’s a potion in ALG Royale that you pour on the ground?

I thought we were trying to hide the reveal until later!

And two! Where were the explosions!? The action! The excitement! Honestly, I think I’m doing them a favor for not choosing this teaser.

1/10. Would not watch again.

I shook my head disappointingly and rewatched the second video again.

“Woo! That’s what we need!” I said.

There was no doubt in my mind that this was the best teaser.

With my decision made, there was no reason to wait any longer. I immediately sent a text to chairman gramps.

[Me: Second teaser! No doubt! That one feels the best and is the most exciting!]

[Chairman Gramps: We thought so.]

[Chairman Gramps: That’s the one the marketing team was leaning towards choosing, thank you for your input. Do you have any questions?]

[Me: Yes! What’s referring to me in this? I have a few guesses but I can’t confirm anything.]

[Chairman Gramps: There are three references to you in this teaser. Wouldn’t it be more fun to figure them out yourself?]

[Me: ?? Just tell me! Is it the explosion, giggle, and bee?!]

[Chairman Gramps: Oh, would you look at the time, I have a meeting to attend.]

[Me: ???? What?]

[Me: Hey! Tell me before you go!]

[Me: Hey!!!!]

[Me: (angry raccoon icon)]

[Me: I will remember this!!!]

“This gramps!” I exclaimed. He’s messing with me!

Heh, I’ll have to return this grudge tenfold.

But, three references, huh? I must be right, there’s nothing else in that video that could allude to me.

I stretched, turning off my phone.

Potion time~

A few hours later, a short 30 second teaser video was uploaded to ALG Royale’s official channel.

It was titled: ‘Chaotic Christmas #1’

Immediately, fans of the game rushed in to watch.

It didn’t take long for people to start commenting.

→ [I’m a little sad that not much was revealed but now I’m eagerly waiting for the next teaser! I hope it showcases more!]

→ [Did anyone else notice the new things!? The sword at 0:05 is not in the game, the arrows at 0:08 looked weird, the shield at 0:10 has new enchantments on it!
