World-saving Plan: The Only Savior
Chapter 2001 - 76: Little Nightmare
"Nightmare...it really is him..."
Zhang Xiaoman sighed.
This result was both unexpected and inevitable.
With Ni Yang’s strength, to silently snatch the ring from him, probably only that one can do it.·1
"But the ring is bound, even if Nightmare snatched it from Ni Yang, he shouldn’t be able to use it..."
Zhang Xiaoman felt uncertain; if it were someone else, he wouldn’t be as worried, but since it was the Demon Lord, he truly couldn’t be sure.
After all, that’s an Upper Transcendent level, a realm he had never encountered before. Who knows what kind of means exist at such strength.
The good news was, at least now he knew the whereabouts of the ring, and also understood why Ni Yang couldn’t leverage the Master of Destruction during the previous battle—it wasn’t because the ring lost effectiveness, but because it was simply stolen.
Well, he admitted that saying this indeed sounded strange, but since everything had happened, Zhang Xiaoman wouldn’t bother blaming others; how to retrieve the ring was most important.
"Ni Yang, I had someone tell fortunes about this magic tide; he revealed to me that you are the key point. What do you know?"
Zhang Xiaoman proceeded to tell about events in the Divine Domain, yet Ni Yang’s reaction was somewhat unexpected.
"The truth of the magic tide? What is the truth of the magic tide? How would I know! I don’t even know what you’re talking about when you mention the magic tide; this is my first time hearing of it. I’ve been here shorter than you; do you think I would know this stuff?"
Ni Yang’s words left him stunned, but upon careful thought, it seemed not entirely unreasonable.
Zhang Xiaoman hadn’t expected things to turn out this way; he initially thought Ni Yang would know about the magic tide due to the Observer’s influence. After all, that guy was an expert in this area; there shouldn’t be a high possibility of errors.
But now, Ni Yang indeed didn’t know any magic tide news, so though Zhang Xiaoman still felt some doubts, he had to temporarily let go.
At this moment, the space suddenly experienced a violent shock, with piercing screeches coming from all directions, sounding somewhat like whale songs. These cries joined together to create an extremely terrifying atmosphere—if filming a ghost movie, this sound alone might scare people to death.
Of course, Zhang Xiaoman and Ni Yang wouldn’t be afraid of such things, but the sudden shock and noise indicated some accident had occurred here, and as the next scene unfolded, even they couldn’t help but take a sharp breath.
Only to see strange dome buildings below, densely flooding with one monster after another with tentacles, resembling floating octopuses. Their size wasn’t large, just slightly smaller than a regular adult, but the quantity was immense, almost filling the entire space.
However, if it were just the sheer number, it wouldn’t be shocking. But the power of these monsters was extraordinarily fierce; Zhang Xiaoman and Ni Yang had encountered them on the way here before, and to say the least, these monsters had the ability to slay gods.
Their defense capability was quite average, but their attack power was extremely high—even Middle Extraordinary level spiritual power shields could be easily broken through, as if some peculiar attribute was contained within their attacks, breaking armor instantly upon contact.
"What exactly are these things? Why would they come out of those houses?"
Zhang Xiaoman raised his hand and set up a series of defensive arrays to block those monsters.
Although he had encountered this floating octopus monster before, the number wasn’t large since Big Head had dealt with the majority; he only straggled across a few leftovers.
Despite that, these monsters still left a deep impression on him; during the first encounter, he almost got injured by them unexpectedly.
"This seems to be Nightmare Divine Country; when the ring was stolen in my dream, I vaguely saw this scene. Kid, be careful, we might already be in that guy’s lair!"
Ni Yang spoke, his expression serious yet revealing a slight joy.
Having reached that guy’s lair meant the person he sought was likely nearby!
"Nightmare Divine Country! Are all these things Little Nightmares?"
"Hehe, kind of, call them whatever you like, but I’ll make sure they won’t return home!"
Ni Yang tightly clenched his claws as countless frostflakes drifted in the air, freezing any monster touching the snowflakes instantly into ice sculptures, losing their life.
"These guys hurt a lot, but as long as I don’t let them touch me, it’s fine! With this caliber of creatures, I’ll slay as many as come!"
Admittedly, Ni Yang’s large-scale skill sure was powerful; wherever the eye could see, the entire Divine Country was snowing, with monsters being slain upon emerging, having no chance of counterattack.
However, the number of Little Nightmares seemed endless, as if the round-shaped building below was a bottomless pit—countless monsters surged forward, impossible to annihilate completely.
