Despite her surprise, Marie followed him quickly. They went into the villa and quickly found Nora, who was sharpening her sword.

The moment she saw them, Nora’s eyes lit up.

"Mommy! Daddy!"

She sheathed the sword and quickly approached them.

Leon patted her head as a warm smile formed on his face. He glanced at Marie, then asked, "How is the Mutated Forest now?"

"Dangerous." She smiled bitterly. "Even though you curbed them a lot, several other beasts have evolved into Tier Two creatures. Apart from a few teams whose ability to escape I trust, I rarely send people in there."

Leon hummed, then said to Nora. "Have you seen Daddy fight before?"

She nodded. "Of course! You’re so strong."

Leon chuckled. "Well, I’m a lot stronger now."

"Really?" Her eyes widened.

"Yup." Leon nodded. "Wanna watch?"

She bobbed her head quickly. Leon turned to Marie, then smiled. "Let’s have a family moment in the forest."

Hearing that, Thyra burst into laughter. Sadly, no one except Leon could hear her.

Marie smiled awkwardly while Nora raised her fist and shouted.

"Yeah!!!"

In just a few minutes, they were already outside the camp. Leon carried the silver greatsword on his back, his figure towering and intimidating.

Marie and Nora followed him, tense and a little curious. Nora wasn’t the only one who wanted to see how strong Leon had become. Marie wanted to see too.

As they walked into the forest, she opened her mouth, hesitated, then asked. "Leon... did you see that thing about an Epic?"

Leon paused, then nodded slowly. "Ah, that? Yeah, it was me."

For a moment, Marie’s brain short-circuited.

She blinked, then gasped. "Wait. That story was about you?!"

Leon nodded. "It’s nothing, actually. The Star Stream simply made it look grand or something."

"What story?" Nora asked, confused.

She had been asleep when the strings of messages were broadcast, so she remained ignorant about it.

Not wanting to scare her, Leon smiled smugly and said. "Of course, it’s a story about me. This Daddy went to fight aliens and beat them up. Cool, right?"

Her black eyes shone brightly. "So cool! I want to fight aliens too!"

"Haha..." Leon laughed stiffly. "No."

"What? Why?" She grumbled, displeased.

Leon patted her head and explained. "Why would the princess fight when the king is available? Anyway, when you’re strong enough to fight aliens, I’ll let you fight them."

Although she was still pouting, Nora reluctantly nodded.

Marie smiled at the sight, then turned to look to her left. Her eyes narrowed, and she quickly threw her spear.

The weapon whistled between the trees and struck a mutated tiger that had been lurking nearby.

"Oh, you killed it already? I was waiting for it to come to us," Leon said with a smile, then walked up to the corpse with the two of them. The tiger lay dead on the ground, Marie’s spear piercing its head.

Leon felt a little sorry for the beast. While Marie pulled out the spear, he removed its soul crystal too.

The only reward beside its body was a Basic Ability Upgrade Card. She passed it to Leon. After checking it, he handed it back to her.

"You should use it. I know you don’t have many abilities at Tier One."

She hesitated for a moment, then smiled. "Thanks, Boss."

Leon nodded, then pulled the corpse into his storage ring. Since it was a Tier One beast, the corpse would be highly nutritious for weaker Evolvers.

"Alright, let’s go deeper. We still haven’t found a Tier Two."

They began moving quickly through the forest. Leon let Marie handle the Tier One mutated beasts while Nora killed the unranked ones. She was also Tier One now, so her strength was not to be underestimated.

Seeing her fight, Leon was a little relieved. ’As long as she’s strong enough, she won’t be in danger if Marie and I are unavailable.’

Pausing, he smiled when his Shadow Sense caught something.

A mutated lion was approaching with confident strides, trying to remain hidden as it stalked them.

It probably thought they were easy prey. Leon almost felt a pang of pity for it.

Glancing at Nora, he said, "Watch closely."

He unsheathed the Wolf King’s Might, letting its silver blade reflect in the sun. The mutated lion finally stepped out of its hiding place, realizing that it had been spotted.

It yawned lazily, its gaze shifting from one human to another as though it was deciding who to kill first.

Leon smiled coldly, then dashed at it. The mutated lion roared and turned to him.

He reached it in an instant, then activated Mental Dominion. The mutated lion stiffened, feeling something heavy and crushing slam into its mind. Its steps faltered, but it wasn’t knocked down.

The moment it recovered, it saw a silver blade falling straight on its head. Activating one of its abilities quickly, a golden shield formed over its head as several strands of fur from its mane fell to the ground.

Leon chuckled.

BANG! CRACK! CRASH!

The shield barely stopped the blade’s descent. The silver greatsword broke through the shield and tore through the lion’s head.

Boom!

As it struck the ground, the surrounding trees shook from the impact.

[You have slain a Level 62 Tier Two Mutated Lion]

[You cannot level up!]

[Progress has been stored!]

The forest was silent for a moment, then Nora cheered.

"Wahhh! Daddy is so strong! One strike to kill a lion!"

Leon chuckled and removed its soul crystal. He then stored the corpse as well.

"This one was pretty weak. Let’s check for others."

Nora nodded quickly, while Marie stared at him silently. She couldn’t believe he had grown this much stronger.

Now, a single strike was enough to kill a Tier Two creature. It felt unbelievable, but she couldn’t deny the fact that it had happened right in front of her eyes.

Seeing her still standing there in a daze, Leon walked up to her and tugged at her nose.

"What’re you daydreaming about?"

She blinked, blushed faintly, then looked away. "Ah... it’s nothing."

Leon nodded and turned around. "Alright, let’s go."

They moved through the forest again and quickly ran into another Tier Two beast.

Looking at the towering elephant before them, Leon smiled thinly.

"Not bad. I don’t think I’ve ever had elephant meat."
