There were a lot of guards, but they moved at specific times, rotating shifts and maintaining tight security.

Leon had to study them for hours, remaining where he was while hoping no one would detect him from above.

Thankfully, there were no helicopters or aerial patrol vehicles here. By evening, he had mastered their patterns and planned his route.

Watching a guard pass by the place he was hiding, he immediately dropped to the ground as soon as they rounded the corner. Silently, he slipped away while the guard’s back was turned, moving into a different alley and immediately climbing a roof.

As soon as he did, two other guards appeared in the alley, chatting with each other as they passed by.

Once they were gone, Leon came down and continued moving. Whenever he predicted that guards would appear, he would immediately hide on a rooftop, watching them pass by and leave.

He never had an accidental encounter with one. At least he hadn’t been unlucky enough to have one yet.

Perhaps that might have been said too soon, because the moment he jumped down, he was met with the sight of a guard peering through a bathroom window and jerking off right there.

They stared at each other, frozen in shock.

The guard wanted to threaten Leon and stop him, but he felt that it’d be inappropriate. He had also been doing something shameful, after all.

As if by tacit understanding, Leon and the guy ignored each other, each resuming their business. Leon walked past him and left quickly.

’I guess humans aren’t the only ones who are lustful and perverts.’

He quickly moved between the alleys, switching to hiding whenever necessary.

Finally, he arrived at the castle. Or at least, its gates. He couldn’t sneak through the gate as easily as he had expected.

The gates were guarded by two peak Tier Two Evolvers who looked strict and rigid. They weren’t even allowing people to enter. Only members of the Royal Family could enter or bring someone in as they wished.

’Wait. So I have to wait until one of those guys come out before I can have a chance?’

Shaking his head, he grumbled inwardly. ’I could use Shadow Teleportation, but I have a feeling they’d detect it.’

Grumbling, he remained in the same position for a while. Soon, he found a loophole.

Besides the main gate leading into the castle’s compound, there was another secret gate on the wall. As for how he found it, that was a pleasant coincidence.

A young lady who had probably sneaked out of the castle using that same passage soon returned through it while avoiding all forms of security.

She had glanced around to ensure no one was watching, but couldn’t have known that someone was lying on a roof watching her.

Once she had entered, Leon remained in his position for a few minutes before jumping down.

He landed quietly, then sank into the shadow of the building beside him.

He reappeared from the shadows cast by the wall, unnoticed by anyone. Quickly moving before the patrol guards assigned to this area passed by, he pushed a specific brick the young lady had pushed earlier, and turned it exactly as she had.

Instantly, the passage opened up. To his surprise, it didn’t lead directly to the other side of the walls. Instead, it led straight into an underground passage.

Leon only hesitated briefly before entering. The walls closed behind him. He didn’t need flashlights, as he could see perfectly in the darkness. With his Shadow Sense mapping the area, he quickly followed the route and eventually reached a small door that had been closed.

He didn’t barge in immediately. Instead, he used little force to push against it. The door didn’t budge.

’So it has been locked, huh?’

Sighing, he spread his Shadow Sense slowly to map out the area beyond the door. To his surprise, it was actually a bedroom, and the young lady from earlier was inside.

Leon frowned a little. However, his hesitation lasted only briefly before he made his decision.

’From the looks of it, she’s a princess, so she must know.’

With that, he vanished from the passage and reappeared in her room.

The young lady who had just stood up and was preparing to head to the bathroom was startled when she felt another presence in the room.

Clutching her towel tightly, she spun around. "Who?!"

Suddenly, she froze. Leon stood mere inches away from her, his dagger already pressed against her neck.

"I will ask you questions, and you will answer me. You move, you die. You call for help, you die. You use an ability, you die. You say a wrong answer, you die. If you understand me, blink twice."

Immediately, she blinked twice.

"Good."

Leon nodded and grabbed her shoulder. She flinched, and before she could react, they both sank into the shadows.

They reappeared in the dark passage, with Leon’s blade still pressed against her neck.

"Now," Leon said from the darkness. "Is your family still in possession of the Heart?"

The young princess stiffened and didn’t reply immediately. Leon immediately pressed the dagger closer to her, letting it cut a faint line across her neck.

"Y-Yes," She answered immediately. "We have it."

Leon nodded even though she couldn’t see him. "Where is it?"

She flinched again, then answered shakily. "W-with my father...Ah!"

She suddenly yelped, feeling the dagger press deeper into her skin. A thin line of blood flowed from the small wound, down her neck and along her collarbone and breast, staining the white towel she had.

"Wrong answer. By the way, I’m also curious about how many times I need to push deeper before you lose your head."

Terrified, she shivered. Despite knowing that they were both Tier One, she didn’t dare think she could overpower him. She was just a Level 29 Evolver while Leon was already at the peak—Level 50.

That alone was enough for her to know she couldn’t resist.

"I-I... I’m sorry," She begged. "It’s on t-the altar in the middle of the World Shrine."

Leon’s eyes narrowed. "Where is the World Shrine?"

"It’s..." The princess hesitated. "It’s right under the castle."
