Chapter 506: Chapter 243: Maniacal, Part 2
CLANG~
CRASH!
Almost at the exact moment the police charged, the back windows of the two outermost bungalows were violently thrown open.
Two figures in dark work clothes, flat caps, and face masks quickly jumped out of the windows. Without a backward glance upon landing, they took off in a desperate sprint in two different directions, deeper into the old neighborhood.
"Stop! Police!"
"I’ll shoot if you keep running!"
Chen Jifeng and the officers shouted warnings as they gave chase, quickly splitting into two groups to pursue each of the fleeing targets.
Yang Qi didn’t join the chase.
Through the perception of his Earth Listening Technique, he knew that besides the two rooms from which the suspects had escaped, there was another bungalow next to them. This one seemed quiet, its windows nailed shut with wooden planks. Inside, someone was deliberately suppressing their breathing and heartbeat, hiding behind the door and listening to the commotion outside.
’There’s one more!’
Yang Qi remained impassive. Pretending to assist with the search, he slowly walked toward that bungalow.
As he walked, he kept his focus locked on the source of the breathing behind the door.
About a meter and a half from the door, Yang Qi stopped, pretending to examine the lock.
In reality, with a mere thought, he unleashed a ripple of Magical Power—formless, intangible, and aimed directly at the person’s consciousness.
Shocking God Technique!
It pierced through the door, striking the brain of the person hiding behind it.
"Ugh~"
A muffled grunt suddenly came from behind the door, followed by the sound of a body moving away from its hiding spot in the corner.
’Now’s my chance!’
Yang Qi turned sideways, raised his leg, and delivered a powerful, heavy kick right to the lock of the already decaying wooden door.
BANG~
The wooden door flew open on impact, the entire panel slamming inward.
The powerful force of the door struck the man who had just been startled by the Shocking God Technique and was moving out of the corner.
Caught completely off guard, the man was hit squarely by the door. He stumbled backward, and the gleaming dagger in his hand clattered to the floor.
Yang Qi followed like a shadow, rushing in the instant the door opened. Before the man could get up, Yang Qi stomped on the wrist that had held the dagger, kneed him in the chest with his other leg, and grabbed his arms with a grip like iron pincers, twisting them back!
CRACK~
The faint sound of dislocation.
"Urk!"
The man grunted, his eyes went wide, and he lost all ability to resist.
Yang Qi didn’t stop. He ripped the belt from the man’s waist and, in a few swift motions, bound the man’s hands securely behind his back.
The entire process was clean and efficient, over in just two or three seconds.
Two officers who had been searching the perimeter rushed in at that moment. Seeing the scene inside, they hurried forward to take over, fully subduing the still-struggling man, cuffing him, and picking up the dagger from the floor.
"Expert Yang, are you alright?" one of the officers asked with concern.
"I’m fine."
Yang Qi shook his head.
Meanwhile, the two who fled didn’t get away either.
One didn’t get far before he was cornered in a dead end by flanking officers.
The other was dragged down by a pursuing officer as he tried to climb a low wall. Both were apprehended.
"Quick! Search the houses!"
Chen Jifeng ran back, panting heavily, his face flushed with excitement as he loudly directed the backup officers who had arrived.
A dozen or so officers flooded into all the bungalows.
Beams from high-powered flashlights cut through every corner of the rooms.
Soon, in the innermost room, which reeked of mold and urine, they found their target.
A boy of about seven or eight, his hands and feet bound with hemp rope and his mouth covered with duct tape. He was curled up on a pile of filthy bedding in the corner, eyes shut tight, unconscious.
"We found the kid! He’s alive! Call an ambulance, quick!"
an officer shouted.
Another officer carefully cut the ropes binding the boy.
Meanwhile, in a slightly neater room next door, another group of officers made an even more shocking discovery.
On a wobbly old wooden table, some papers and notebooks were scattered about.
An officer pulled a folded piece of A4 paper from a drawer. As he unfolded it and saw its contents, his expression changed instantly.
"Captain Chen, we found something!"
he yelled, rushing out with the paper in hand.
Chen Jifeng went to meet him.
Yang Qi moved in closer to see.
Chen Jifeng took the paper. As he made out the contents by the light of a high-powered flashlight, his breath caught, and his face grew grim and ugly.
Standing beside him, Yang Qi’s gaze swept over the paper.
It was a printed form, professionally formatted, but it exuded a bone-chilling coldness.
"Donor Preliminary Screening and Evaluation Report (No: DW-008)"
Above the form was a color-printed photo of the very boy who had just been rescued.
Below the photo, the details were listed:
Name: Zhang Mutong
Age: 8
Blood Type: O-positive
Recent Physical Exam Data: (Includes simple heart rate, blood pressure, and key blood panel indicators. The data source has been deliberately blacked out.)
Behavioral Assessment: High curiosity (Parrot Test: Pass), medium compliance (Crow Guidance: Effective), relatively stable emotional state, no obvious aggressive tendencies.
Preliminary Match Rate: 85% (Fulfills partial requirements for Client K-07)
Remarks: Initial anesthetic control administered. Recommend proceeding with in-depth physical examination and tissue typing confirmation as soon as possible.
Transport Priority: High.
Below the form, there were several lines of hasty, handwritten script, seemingly ID numbers and brief information for other children. Some were marked "Processed," others "Awaiting Transport," and a few had question marks.
No further explanation was needed. The cold, hard form, the descriptions like a product inventory, the words "donor," "match rate," and "transport"—it all made the truth horrifyingly clear.
Organ trafficking!
Live harvesting!
Targeted matching! ℯℯ𝘭.𝘤ℴ𝘮
Boys between the ages of eight and twelve, whose organs are developed to a certain stage and whose bodies have a relatively low rejection response, are the most ideal "goods" for certain utterly depraved, illegal organ trafficking rings!
