"Y-You..."

Tristan was at a loss for words when he saw her desperate expression.

For some reason, seeing her like that made his heart ache.

Despite being wary of Fey and Ken, they were still his teammates. They had been together since day one, after all.

Raven yawned lazily as he watched the little drama unfold in front of him.

"Are you done? If so, hurry up and accept my request."

DING!

As soon as he said that, a notification sound rang in Fey and Ken’s minds.

A moment later, a blue panel appeared in front of them.

[Do you want to give up your points in exchange for your safety?]

[Yes/No?]

Both of them hesitated at first. After all, giving up all their points meant losing their spots in the top fifty.

But then, they realized it didn’t really matter.

A spot in the top two hundred was already guaranteed, thanks to the high number of casualties during this third mission.

Taking a deep breath, Ken tapped "Yes." The next second, Fey did the same.

Instantly, their points were drained to zero.

Raven laughed in satisfaction.

"Great! You made the right choice," he praised them.

Clang!

Ken hurriedly raised his scythe to parry the spirit monster’s attack.

"Hurry up and help us!" he roared.

"Don’t be in such a rush."

Raven chuckled softly.

"I just want to make one thing clear. I’m helping the two of you, not that annoying guy."

He pointed at Tristan, who was surrounded by three spirit monsters.

Hearing that, Tristan’s face went pale. But he couldn’t argue, since he hadn’t given his points to Raven.

"Whatever! Just hurry up and help us!" Fey urged.

She no longer cared about her friendship with Tristan. After all, everything had turned out this way because of him.

If it weren’t for his selfishness, she wouldn’t have lost one of her teammates.

"Great!"

Raven smiled contentedly.

Now that they had both admitted it, their relationship was basically over. And that was exactly what he wanted.

"R-Raven, what are you going to do? Do you have a plan?" Claire asked worriedly.

Reyna, standing beside her, also looked anxious.

If they joined the battle, they would naturally be bound by the hall’s rules and wouldn’t be able to leave unless they killed the boss monster.

"Don’t worry."

He patted Reyna on the shoulder before walking five meters ahead.

"Claire, I need your help. Use your fire magic to draw all the monsters’ attention to me."

Although confused, Claire said nothing and did as he asked.

She raised her magic staff and shouted, "Fireball!"

Buzz!

A basketball-sized fireball appeared above Raven.

Its appearance immediately caught the attention of all the spirit monsters.

At that moment, Raven’s eyes turned purple, his round pupils slowly swirling.

"Hypnosis..."

His voice was soft, but it echoed inside every monster’s head.

Their eyes widened before slowly losing their light.

Their aggression disappeared, and they just floated there in the air.

Ken, Fey, and the others were stunned by what they were seeing.

Even the monsters attacking them had stopped moving.

"W-What’s going on?" Fey exclaimed in horror. "Y-You can stop them?"

She turned toward Raven, who was simply standing there as if nothing had happened.

Ken was just as surprised. What Raven had done made absolutely no sense.

He had stopped the aggression of spirit monsters that were immune to both physical attacks and magic just by standing there.

Raven ignored their confusion. In fact, his head was throbbing.

Even though the monsters were far weaker than him, using hypnosis on so many monsters at once still left him overwhelmed.

Taking a deep breath, he commanded, "Kill yourselves."

Instantly, the spirit monsters raised their weapons and stabbed themselves.

Thick white blood gushed out like fountains.

The sight terrified everyone, especially Ken, Fey, and their companions.

They had absolutely no idea how Raven had done it. It made no sense at all.

As the monsters died, waves of experience points continuously poured in, but Raven paid them no mind.

He knew the real enemy hadn’t arrived yet.

Before they could recover from their shock, the ground beneath them suddenly began to shake violently.

Then, a giant, human-shaped monster with a bull’s head appeared from the distant altar.

Its entire body was transparent, making it clear that it was a spirit.

It held an axe in its right hand and a mace in its left.

Roar!

Its powerful roar shook everyone to their core.

"T-The hall’s boss has appeared!" Fey shouted in horror.

She raised her weapon. Ken, Tristan, Mona, and Troy did the same.

Thud!

Each step the monster took caused the hall to shake violently, pushing everyone’s fear to its peak.

But suddenly...

"Stop."

Raven’s indifferent voice came from behind them.

The aggressive boss monster immediately stopped moving. Its ferocious expression slowly turned blank.

"Kill yourself..."

The monster raised its blade and beheaded itself.

White blood—far thicker and more abundant than before—spurted out, drenching the area within two meters of where it had been standing.

Everyone’s breath caught in their throats as they turned toward Raven, who was still holding up his left hand.

If his ability to kill the monsters without even moving had already been shocking, then the scene unfolding before their eyes was beyond words.

"Y-You..."

Fey wanted to say something, but she didn’t know what to say.

Raven was so powerful that she couldn’t help but admire him and fear him.

Ken and Tristan felt the same fear. They swallowed hard and didn’t dare move an inch.

Raven closed his eyes and let out a deep breath.

"System, you didn’t tell me using the Hypnotize skill would drain this much mental energy."

DING!

"[I thought you knew that.]"

The answer annoyed Raven, but he was too lazy to argue with the system.

"Open my status panel."

"Hypnosis is truly incredible," he muttered.

There was no need to train physically or learn magic. He simply needed to be a higher level than his target.

Subduing Reyna earlier hadn’t been a waste of time after all.

Taking a deep breath, he watched as Ken, Fey, and Tristan argued among themselves.

"So, how are we going to settle this now?"
