Chapter 1272 - 511: Death’s Pull
Chapter 1272: Chapter 511: Death’s Pull
The transmission preparation area is located in the core zone of the Maze Domain, a transparent hall constructed entirely of pure energy.
The walls, floor, and ceiling are formed from solidified magic, presenting a translucent texture like crystal.
When Ron stepped into this hall, he surprisingly discovered he wasn’t the only one waiting.
In the central area of the hall, several semi-transparent chairs formed by concentrated energy were arranged in a loose circle.
On one of the chairs sat a striking young man, with eyes closed in meditation.
He had a slender stature and handsome features, but most notably were the unusual phenomena surrounding him:
Countless tiny sparks floated in the air, each emitting a silent gray light.
As Ron’s footsteps echoed through the hall, the young man opened his eyes.
"Lecturer Ron Ralph."
His voice carried a carefully trained demeanor, as he stood and performed a standard wizard’s salute to Ron:
"I am Oscar Adelaide, second seat from the New Star Plan. It’s an honor to meet you."
Oscar squinted slightly, showing both battle intent and recognition for strength.
After all, the opponent achieved the top position at a younger age, which cannot be explained by mere luck.
"Heir of the Adelaide family."
Ron returned the salute similarly:
"Your ’Flame of Deathly Stillness’ caused quite a stir in the academic world, indeed an impressive achievement."
Upon hearing this commendation, Oscar nodded politely:
"Compared to Lecturer Ralph’s chaos simulation device, my research appears rather singular, which is why I’m venturing out this time."
He lightly caressed a wristband on his arm:
"I’m headed to the ’Primal Fire Realm’ controlled by the School."
Ambition burned in Oscar’s eyes:
"Currently, my ’Flame of Deathly Stillness’ is just a simple fusion of flame and abyssal energy. Though it is powerful, it lacks true ’life energy’."
His gaze was fixed directly on Ron:
"My goal is clear—to surpass everyone, including you."
This straightforward challenge declaration did not make Ron uncomfortable.
Just as the two were conversing, soft footsteps emerged from the other side of the hall.
A gentle-tempered witch slowly approached, holding a beautifully crafted small potted plant in her arms.
The potted plant resembled a miniature towering ancient tree, with light golden light flowing among the branches and leaves.
Occasionally, a very faint, heartbeat-like rhythm could be heard.
"Hello, both of you." The witch’s voice was as clear as a mountain spring: "I am Rachel Amagil."
Amakiir, meaning gem flower.
Gem flower family! Ron’s heart stirred.
This is a clan with a long history, famous for researching nature and life extension technology.
It is said to have once been a pillar family of the ’Tree of Life’ School, later splitting off due to disagreements with the ’Emerald Crown Wizard’ Ash.
"I’ve long admired the reputation of the gem flower family." Oscar took the initiative to speak.
Rachel nodded gently: "You’ve overpraised us. We’ve just walked slightly further down this path than others."
She gently stroked the potted plant in her arms: "This time, I am going to ’Spore Planet’. There, I will find a unique fungal ecosystem, with some ancient fungi reportedly possessing the special attribute of ’memory’."
...
Half an hour later, Professor Yutel’s void remains appeared like a ghost at the entrance to the transmission preparation area.
"It seems everyone is here."
"Now we will head to the transmission station. Remember, don’t use common sense to measure everything you’re about to see."
The quartet moved down a spiral energy channel into deeper layers.
"The space structure here changes every twelve seconds."
Yutel explained while walking, his ghostly fingers lightly brushing along the channel wall.
The intricate vascular patterns immediately converged towards his touch point, as if summoned:
"Any being trying to forcefully traverse this area will be torn apart by spatial turbulence, like meat falling into a grinder.
Only through these precisely calculated energy channels can we arrive safely at the destination.
Moreover, these channels themselves..."
He paused, his silver eyes flickering with complex emotions:
"Were constructed using a fallen former Great Wizard, a truly arrogant one who dared assume the title ’King of Geometry’ after falling to an Apostle."
This statement stuck them like lightning, shocking the three.
"You’re saying..." Rachel’s voice trembled slightly: "We are now walking inside the body of an Apostle?"
"More accurately, we are walking within the sulci of its cerebral cortex."
Yutel’s tone grew deeper:
"The fallen one could arbitrarily twist space structures, folding three-dimensional space into impossible shapes, ensuring enemies remained lost in the maze eternally."
The channel began to slowly descend, the surrounding vascular patterns becoming denser, and even some kind of silver liquid could be seen slowly flowing within them.
"However, no matter how mighty, once a wizard completely loses reason, it’s merely an enhanced monster at best, and we have plenty of methods to deal with monsters.
We lured it into this specially crafted trap and then forcibly deprived it of its ability to resist using magic."
Ron felt a faint pulsating sensation underfoot, which was not a mechanical vibration but a heartbeat rhythm of some kind of life form.
From a particular standpoint, the entire base station was indeed still ’alive’.
"For seven whole days and nights, it was fixed on the dissecting table, watching as an Alchemy Master peeled away layers of its consciousness, extracted nerve by nerve, and cut it into pieces."
