Wizard: Starting from the Skill Tree
Chapter 1015 - 850: News of the Wizard Plane’s Promotion
In some deep regions of the Endless Plane, there exist extremely ancient and powerful beings, whose strength far exceeds the limits that low planes and middle planes can bear. With a mere gesture, they can tear through the plane barriers, and with a thought, they can traverse the void across countless light years.
For beings of such a level, conquering a single plane is no longer the goal. They carve out their territories across entire star realms, rearing dozens or even hundreds of planes like mortals raising livestock in pastures.
Each plane is implanted with specific rule seeds, developing according to their preset directions.
Some specifically produce divine statuses embedded with extreme Fire Element Rules; some specifically nurture native life with rare bloodlines; others are used as gigantic Power of Faith farms, where all spiritual activities from birth to death provide them with continuous energy.
And the beings within these planes do not know their world is merely private property of a certain existence. They live, age, and die as usual, and continue to worship gods, unaware that the gods they worship are mere tools of their captors.
Duke stayed in Furnace Castle for three more days, revising the detailed instructions of the three Great Mages from the Shadow Council into text, and sent them to these three to better make the Shadow Council work for him.
Then he confirmed the allocation plan of the next batch of resources with Dali and verified the training progress in each district of the Light Sect.
He also separately summoned Bishop Ambrose and Knight Henry, briefly informing them of the Shadow Council’s decision not to be enemies with the sect anymore, instructing them to report first when encountering Shadow Believers during border patrols, and not to engage in battles on their own.
After arranging these, he returned to his room in Furnace Castle, and checked the newly acquired million tons of metallic yellow sand one last time.
Duke was very satisfied with this harvest and then directed his spiritual power to his left hand, activating the Coordinates Earring.
The familiar tugging sensation enveloped his whole body, the light and shadow infinitely elongated before him and then suddenly contracted. At the moment of solid footing again, the air mixed with hundreds of flower scents and a faint dust aroma surged into his nostrils in the basement of the Flower Sea Plane Manor.
He climbed the stone steps to the ground and stood for a moment in the garden of the manor.
Under the pale purple sky, the neon meadow continued to change colors in the breeze, spore creatures slowly danced in the light columns filtered by the foliage in the distance, all as usual.
Duke didn’t linger long in the manor and directly returned to the Wizard Plane. After passing through the public teleportation array of Dusk City, he directly stepped onto the teleportation gate to Black Sail Headquarters.
The reason he did not directly return to the Central Islands this time was that he received a message from Black Hand Morgan. Previously, Morgan had been busy, so there was no chance to meet Duke, but now back in the Wizard Plane, Morgan wanted Duke to visit Black Sail at a convenient time.
Upon returning to Black Sail and boarding the Elizabeth, he arrived at Black Hand Morgan’s office.
The door wasn’t closed, and a faint tobacco scent wafted from inside.
Duke raised his hand and lightly knocked twice on the door frame.
"Come in." Morgan’s voice was hoarse and deep, saturated with the texture of years steeped in tobacco.
Duke pushed the door open and entered, noting the simple decor of the office. The bookshelf against the wall was filled with nautical logs and maps of various planes, an old brass star chart stood in the corner, and on the wooden liquor cabinet by the window sat a half bottle of amber rum and several shiny glass cups.
Morgan sat behind the broad oak desk, with the ever-present pipe in his mouth.
He looked unchanged from a few years ago, his full beard framing his face, wearing a slightly faded dark blue captain’s coat, with the Black Sail symbol stitched over his heart. He appeared not like a Level 4 master commanding an entire wizard organization, but more like an old sailor taking a break from the deck.
But Duke knew that this seemingly ordinary man once tore the plane barrier of the Beastmen Plane with a dagger, opened a space-time rift by hand, creating a passage for the Black Sail Legion, and after Reynolds, the strongest on the Beastmen Plane, condensed his divine status to ascend to Level 4, Morgan easily devoured him.
Morgan’s very existence was the most direct understanding of the term god for every member of Black Sail.
"Level 3 Initial Stage, your growth speed is truly astonishing." Morgan took the pipe from his mouth, pointed the pipe stem at the chair opposite his desk, indicating for Duke to sit down, "Which Key of Rules did you use for ascension?"
"Fire Attribute, dug from the core area of the Heart of Molten Fire in the Four Spirits Elemental Plane." Duke sat down on the chair.
Morgan slightly raised his eyebrow and then nodded.
He put the pipe back in his mouth, paused for a few moments, seemingly pondering his words.
Tobacco smoke slowly ascended before him, dispersing into a thin blue mist in the afternoon sunlight streaming in from the window.
"The main reason for calling you back this time is to let you know a piece of news that you probably haven’t heard yet at the Six-Ring Tower. Black Sail received it from the official channels of the Wizard Council just a few days ago." Morgan took the pipe out of his mouth, gently tapped the edge of the ashtray, leaned forward slightly, and placed his crossed hands on the desk, "Speaker Albert is preparing to ascend to Level 7."
Duke’s pupils slightly contracted.
Morgan noticed his reaction and continued.
"Albert has prepared for this for more than three thousand years. He is the only person in the Wizard Plane who has reached the pinnacle of Proof of Rules, and he is the Speaker of the Wizard Council, holding the Book of Truth, a world-class treasure. The accumulation of three thousand years, combined with the knowledge stored in the Book of Truth, Albert’s attempt to ascend to Level 7 is not a gamble, but a natural progression; every step Albert has taken in these three thousand years is solid accumulation. One can say that Albert is the person most assured to succeed in ascending to Level 7 in the entire history of the Wizard Plane."
