Chapter 1450 - 497: A New Lethal Move

Chapter 1450: Chapter 497: A New Lethal Move

The elite soldiers who accompanied Rein and the others immediately followed Haleem into the small camp.

However, Rein, Terrio, and Hernandez did not enter immediately; instead, they paused and exchanged glances.

“We should go in first. We can take this opportunity to understand the situation from Haleem.”

Hernandez looked at Rein and Terrio, seeking their opinions.

“Hmm, that’s a very prudent plan,” Rein thought for a moment and nodded.

Hearing this, Sword Saint Terrio, who initially wanted to suggest ’eliminating these mechanical scraps directly,’ found it inappropriate to voice his thoughts and could only nod in agreement.

Soon after, the three of them entered the small camp together, and the mirrored air quickly disappeared.

Upon entering, Rein immediately felt as if he was isolated from the outside world.

He could no longer hear the noises of the mechanical monsters which should have been growing louder, nor could he sense the energy fluctuations outside.

Glancing around, Rein saw four cylindrical metal devices arranged around the camp.

Evidently, it was due to these four devices.

“A jammer with an isolation witch array, Haleem, it seems you’ve prepared thoroughly.”

Hernandez glanced around and couldn’t help but laugh.

“You flatter me, Your Crown Hernandez. Our team doesn’t possess the strength of you all, and without the jammer, we wouldn’t have lasted.”

But even with these two measures, everyone remained vigilant.

After a few minutes, confirming that the mechanical monsters couldn’t discover them, they finally relaxed.

At this time, the elite soldiers accompanying them began to prove their worth.

They quickly retrieved supplies from their bulging backpacks, much to the delight of Haleem and the other six wizards in his squad.

“Great, I haven’t had water in almost three days.” A Second Level Liquidization Wizard took the water pouch and drank it eagerly.

This site seems to particularly suppress the power of Water Witchcraft.

In theory, liquidized or crystallization wizards, even those not specialized in Water Element, should have no problem using Water Witchcraft to conjure some water, but not in this damned place.

Even Hernandez, a Dawn Wizard, found the power of his Water Witchcraft suppressed.

“Huh? You also brought an energy device? That’s excellent, with the energy, the jammer can last at least another half month.” Another wizard observed as a soldier extracted a small energy device from their pack, and sighed in admiration.

While these elite soldiers played little part in the earlier battle, they’ve proved to be a morale booster for Haleem and the others.

The atmosphere immediately became more lively.

At this moment, Haleem stroked his goatee, turned to Rein and the others, and said with a smile:

“Gentlemen, I have an idea. Now that we have sufficient water, food, and energy, this small camp can sustain us for at least half a month.”

“With the presence of you three with epic combat abilities, perhaps we should consider thoroughly exploring this site?”

“I am almost certain this is the site of the capital of the Ancient Goblin Empire. Though there are strange goblin corpses here, if we can successfully take the mechanical devices and data from here, it will tremendously enhance our technology.”

“It would be extremely beneficial in dealing with the resurgence of giant beasts and even the advent of the Divine,” Haleem said, glancing at Rein and the others.

“Well…it’s not impossible, but exploring ruins isn’t my forte, so perhaps we should follow the opinions of Your Crown Hernandez and Lord Rein.” Sword Saint Terrio pondered briefly before speaking first.

“What about Lord Rein’s opinion?”

To Haleem’s surprise, Hernandez didn’t express an opinion and instead politely asked Rein.

“I suggest we first find a way out or a method to leave.”

“Otherwise, rash exploration might not be appropriate.”

Rein thought for a moment and gave an answer that surprised everyone.

Because logically, Rein’s Metal Series Witchcraft wasn’t weakened in the ruins; instead, it was enhanced, and given his youthful exuberance, he would most likely advocate for continued exploration.

Yet, to the surprise of Hernandez and Haleem, Rein was cautious despite his young age.

Their gazes on Rein became more complicated.

No wonder Rein could smoothly rise in such an environment as the Empire.

After all, this world does hold many geniuses, but few can develop smoothly.

“I agree with Lord Rein’s opinion.” Hernandez smiled at Rein and concurred.

“A very cautious and prudent arrangement! Let’s rest for a while, leaving the jammer and these supplies here. Regardless of the outcome, this place can serve as a resting point.” Haleem agreed, following their conversation with a smile.

With Hernandez and Terrio present, command of the team naturally shifted to them from Haleem.

Since both of them agreed with Rein’s opinion, Haleem, even if he had any other thoughts, could only hold them back.

As if struck by a thought, Rein smiled at Haleem, took out a document from his pocket, and handed it over:

“Lord Haleem, I’ve received permission from the Federation to learn a Metal Series Witchcraft.”
