Chapter 429: Chapter 317: The Drawbacks of Being an Easy Target

The collection of ritual materials went very smoothly, because this time, the target was once again our old friend, the Master of Billions of Flesh.

That’s right, it was him again!

It wasn’t that Isaac was determined to fleece the same sheep, but mainly that the ritual materials and catalysts for this guy were just too easy to get. Even without Francis’s Life Derivation Technique—a treasure that could convert living beings into Artificial Humans—the Demon Flesh from the Underground Palace alone was more than enough. After setting aside the edible portions, and even with the ritual having been upgraded to Tier Four, there was still enough left over for him to perform it twice!

Other Outer Gods, even Demon Monarchs who only required souls, needed time to produce Soul Crystals. None were as convenient as the Master of Billions of Flesh.

This was to be expected. After all, the sacrificial rituals for the Master of Billions of Flesh had always been about quantity over quality. Even an Ordinary person could gain the power they desired through the ritual, as long as they met the requirements.

Of course, gaining that power was one thing, but whether one could withstand it was another matter entirely.

But that had nothing to do with Isaac. All he knew was that his brother, the Master of Billions of Flesh, was generous!

And since *he* was so generous, Isaac naturally wouldn’t be stingy either. See? The moment a great opportunity came up, he thought of him first!

However, unlike the material collection, the ritual itself encountered a few minor hiccups...

The reason was that Isaac’s ritual request was the same as always: he casually threw out a Dimension Seed as the transaction goal, then charged straight into the Mysterious Void!

But as Isaac’s reputation had grown, even with the information concealment from the Gate of Legends, the active Outer Gods had still learned of a Mad Witch from out of town who didn’t play by the rules at all. The moment he showed up, he’d just start robbing them!

So now, Outer Gods like the Master of Billions of Flesh, who had been scammed one too many times, had grown more cautious. While fulfilling the ritual’s demands, they would also practicedly sink their consciousness into the Mysterious Void, fully prepared.

Unfortunately for them, as the saying goes, for every foot the Demon rises, the Dao rises ten.

Although Isaac didn’t know what these Outer Gods were planning, his goal this time was only the Demon God’s true name; he had no interest in any other power. And because the power of a true name was so faint, finding it in this vast Mysterious Void would be quite a hassle.

It was destined to be a protracted battle. That’s why Isaac had requested a Dimension Seed—this was a Tier Four ritual, after all, and an Ordinary Dimension Seed wouldn’t fool it. This was a big deal!

Whether the Master of Billions of Flesh wanted to trade normally or try some tricks, it wouldn’t be over in a moment.

At the same time, besides ensuring he had enough time, Isaac didn’t swagger into the Mysterious Void as he usually did. Instead, he snuck in quietly. This was his first time searching for a Deity’s true name here, so it was better to be cautious.

’Once I get the hang of this place,’ he thought, ’then I’ll show them my hand!’

And so, although the Master of Billions of Flesh also entered the Mysterious Void immediately, Isaac’s concealment was so well done this time—and he hadn’t touched any of the Master’s power—that even though the Outer God started searching everywhere right away, he failed to find any trace of Isaac.

Isaac, on the other hand, spotted him.

It would have been hard not to. The Mysterious Void was a manifestation of Divine Power itself. On a normal day, without a Mad Witch’s trading ritual, this place didn’t even exist. As a result, the gods had no fine control over their power in this Space. Every time they appeared, a giant face would materialize in the sky, making them impossible to miss.

Isaac glanced at the massive, wary face in the sky. Seeing that it hadn’t noticed him, he looked away and focused on finding the true name of the Master of Billions of Flesh.

Meanwhile, although the Master of Billions of Flesh hadn’t found any sign of Isaac, he felt a strange, unsettling feeling for some reason. His intuition told him that he was about to lose something very, very important!

At their level of Existence, even without specifically casting a prophecy spell, their intuition was as sharp as one. Since his intuition was tingling, there was an eighty-percent chance something bad was about to happen. He had to take it seriously. ℴ

The most terrifying part was that, despite the unsettling feeling and the lack of clues, he didn’t dare to recklessly use his Prophetic Ability to investigate. What if, like the Emperor, he ended up anchoring his own doom in the future and died?

So, the Master of Billions of Flesh suppressed his unease, gave up on the external transaction, and painfully handed over a Tier Four Dimension Seed. He initiated the transaction process directly to speed up the ritual’s completion.

One must understand, this item was a grievous loss for him. This was especially true now, during the critical moment of besieging the Emperor in the Endless Tower. The risk was extremely high!

But even so, he split off a Tier Four Dimension Seed with little hesitation.

Because the moment this thought appeared, he could clearly feel his unease fade slightly. This proved that what he needed most right now was time!

On the other side, compared to the Master of Billions of Flesh’s urgency, Isaac was relatively calm. After all, no matter how badly things went, he could still complete the transaction and obtain a Tier Four Dimension Seed.

Even though the ritual’s feedback meant the Master of Billions of Flesh would ultimately profit, Isaac himself wasn’t losing anything, so it didn’t affect him.

With this mindset, Isaac was naturally much calmer.

And so it went. The massive face of the Master of Billions of Flesh hung high in the firmament, looking down upon the entire Mysterious Void, not missing the slightest trace. Meanwhile, Isaac concealed his form, wandering through the Mysterious Void like a Ghost. A faint light flickered in his eyes as he used the power of the ritual and his Authority to analyze every power he encountered.

Finally, after an unknown amount of time, when his Golden Finger’s fault tolerance margin reached eight hundred and thirty-two percent, Isaac’s figure came to a stop before a star radiating a faint glow. The corners of his mouth turned up slightly.

’Found it!’

At the same time, the Master of Billions of Flesh’s heart suddenly tightened. A mountainous, ocean-like torrent of divine might surged violently into the Mysterious Void.

A pity...

It was useless.

Before he could fly into a helpless rage, Isaac had already snatched his true name. He then cracked his neck, broke into a brilliant smile, and unleashed the full power of the golden ritual. It spread through the Mysterious Void like a great, spreading net of Erosion!

Before leaving, he planned to pick up a few more things. First, it would conceal his true objective and buy him some time. Second, well, he couldn’t leave empty-handed. Since he was already here, and this was all unwanted junk anyway, he might as well grab some on his way out.

’Yeah, on the way out.’

The moment Isaac made his move, the Master of Billions of Flesh noticed. At the same time, the unease in his heart reached a critical point!

"You little thief!!!"
