Chapter 406: Chapter 297: The True Gods Who Sell Out Their Teammate, the Evil God Who Covers the Retreat, and the Dumbfounded Demon God

Passing through the jagged Void, Isaac brought Mephisto and the Fighting God to the entrance of the Wolf Howl Dungeon.

The Wolf Howl Dungeon was one of the primary Underground Palaces that the Underground Palace City was currently focused on clearing. It was mainly inhabited by wolf-type Demons. Though numerous, they were individually weak. Moreover, their flesh had low toxicity and could be eaten after some simple preparation.

At the same time, while wolf-type Demons were the majority, there was no shortage of other Demons. There were even herbivorous Demons, making for a rather diverse ecosystem. It served as an excellent source of food.

It was also now the main source of raw materials for Divine Fragments.

The reason they chose this Underground Palace for a breakthrough was mainly because the wolf-type Demons were individually weak. This was unlikely to change much, even if they advanced to Tier Four.

After all, Underground Palace Demons were different from the normal Demons found outside. Under normal circumstances, never mind Tier Four, few Demons capable of even reaching Tier Three were weak, even if they were originally pack animals.

Advancing required immense resources. Only the most outstanding individual in a pack could receive the group’s support or seize enough resources to do so.

But Underground Palace Demons were different. They were the creations of a Demon God and had no advancement process whatsoever. Spawned entirely from a Demon God’s Boundless Magic Power, they tended to retain some of their original traits.

Of course, how many of these traits they retained depended on the thoughts of the Demon God who created them.

In any case, investigations had shown that the Demons on the lowest level of the Wolf Howl Dungeon were on the weaker side for Tier Four, but were relatively numerous. The exact count, however, remained unknown.

As one of the most popular Underground Palaces in the Underground Palace City, its entrance was crowded. People moved in groups of two and three, creating a bustling atmosphere. Isaac even spotted humans from other Magic Cities among the crowd.

Isaac watched them, a slight raise of his eyebrow the only reaction. He said nothing, merely shifting his gaze to the towering entrance of the Underground Palace. With a wave of his right hand, the Ruby Ring on his index finger flew off, transforming into a blood-red figure. It was the Master of Blood!

The moment the Master of Blood appeared, its evil Divine Power instantly surged outward, causing both Mephisto and the Fighting God to gasp in alarm. They instinctively materialized their weapons, staring at it with extreme caution.

"Do not worry. It is my Servant Demon," Isaac said. "It will be accompanying you on this mission. Remember, if you encounter any danger, the two of you are to flee immediately. It will cover your retreat."

Mephisto and the Fighting God exchanged a look, their expressions turning grave. ’Such an evil being... is also our master’s Creation?’

In that instant, their perception of Isaac shifted slightly. However, they said nothing, keeping the thought buried in their hearts. After all, it was the Divine Master who had granted them their power and made them what they were today.

Thus, the two nodded. Then, along with the Master of Blood, they transformed into three streaks of divine light and shot into the Underground Palace.

As for Isaac, he naturally remained outside. Though he was physically outside, a sliver of his consciousness was attached to the Master of Blood, following the trio deep into the Underground Palace.

He had no intention of accompanying them, of course. It wasn’t that he feared danger; given the unique structure of an Underground Palace, he was confident he could escape even if a Tier Five Demon was waiting on the lowest level.

But he could not go.

Underground Palaces were the creations of Demon Gods. And while not every Underground Palace was under the watch of its creator, it was painfully obvious that three True Gods entering one together would undoubtedly attract a Demon God’s attention.

And as a Mad Witch, Isaac needed to avoid such a situation at all costs before he advanced to Tier Six.

After all, who knew if this particular Underground Palace had been built by a certain "old friend"...

If so, that would be a huge mess!

And so, a wise man doesn’t stand beneath a crumbling wall.

In front of the Underground Palace gate, Isaac stood cloaked in Stealth Magic, quietly watching the entrance. The crowds bustling to and fro seemed completely oblivious to his presence, unconsciously parting to avoid him.

At that moment, Isaac’s attention had already followed the sliver of consciousness he had placed on the Master of Blood, entering the Underground Palace with them.

The first thing that came into view was the first level of the Underground Palace: a vast prairie. Scattered across the prairie were a few Ordinary cattle and sheep, as well as packs of around twenty Demon Wolves on the hunt.

Besides these native inhabitants, there were also groups of seven or eight Divine Creatures hunting Demon Wolves on the prairie.

The first level of the Wolf Howl Dungeon had no entry limit; all the Transcendents in the Underground Palace City could enter at once if they wished. However, that would be highly inefficient. Through numerous Trials, the Underground Palace City had determined that groups of seven to eight were the safest and most efficient, while also providing excellent training.

The Three Gods did not linger on the first level. They quickly streaked across the sky, flying directly to the center of the first level’s prairie, and plunged straight down into a massive rift in the ground.

After passing through the long, narrow rift, the Three Gods arrived on the second level of the Wolf Howl Dungeon: the Wolf Howl Forest.

Compared to the first level, the strength of the Demons on the second hadn’t changed much; the strongest were still only Tier One. However, because it was a forest of towering trees, the ecosystem was far more complex. In addition to Demon Wolves, there were also large numbers of venomous insects that were very difficult to handle.

However, this posed no threat to the Three Gods.

The Three Gods proceeded directly to the center of the second level, stopping before a colossal, sky-piercing tree.
