Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 338 - 244: Battle of the Floating Sea (1)
Chapter 338: Chapter 244: Battle of the Floating Sea (1)
However, the Floating Sea had one thing in common with other battlefields—all forms of Space Teleportation were rendered useless.
From minor Blinks to large-scale shifts between Dimension Spaces, nothing worked!
After all, both sides were comprised of Wizards, who were all extremely cautious about such matters.
Comparatively, however, the Flesh Sect held a slight advantage. Although they couldn’t use the Dimension for normal travel, they could forcefully tear open a dimensional rift and escape through it in a true crisis.
But this created a massive disturbance, making it unsuitable for sneak attacks or frontal assaults. Furthermore, it placed a considerable strain on the Dimension, increasing the distance between the Dimension World and the Real World. Therefore, for the Wizards of the Flesh Sect, this was a true ultimate ability.
The same was true for Isaac. He didn’t have to worry about consuming the Dimension World’s power. Even if its very source was damaged, it wouldn’t matter, as he could simply replenish it from the Demon Gods.
But the increasing distance from the Real World was a problem he could not ignore.
That was something that couldn’t be remedied.
Of course, the Sect might have an answer—its Dimension World was immensely powerful, after all. But he knew without asking that such knowledge was a top-tier secret, not something a mere High-level Mage like himself was privy to.
’Yes, a mere High-level Mage.’
Normally, a High-level Mage was by no means weak. Even in this day and age, some in remote areas were still referred to as Demigods. But it all depended on the comparison.
Compared to the higher-ups in the Flesh Sect, however, it was truly nothing worth mentioning.
Besides, Isaac was a Mad Witch. They wouldn’t have let him in on it even if he were a Tier Four, or even a Tier Five Mage, let alone a mere High-level Mage.
After all, closing the gap between the Dimension World and the Real World was what countless Dimensional Demon Gods dreamed of achieving.
Thus, here in the Floating Sea, even High-level Mages had to travel by boat like Ordinary people. Of course, their boats might be a *tad* more advanced.
Before long, Isaac led Phoenix to a private dock. Five people were already waiting there: two High-level Mages and three High-level Knights.
Isaac ignored the three High-level Knights and looked directly at the two High-level Mages, his eyes narrowing slightly. ’As expected,’ he thought. ’No one participating in the Floating Sea campaign is a pushover.’
The High-level Mage on the left wore a red Wizard Robe, his Magic Power blazing as hot as a roaring Flame. His name was Iskander Mixiu. He was a Fire Mage who possessed multiple Flame Authorities, the most powerful of which was *Sun Flame*, an ability with immense destructive force!
The one on the right, clad in a white Wizard Robe, was a rare Light Magic User—and what’s more, an extremely rare one who specialized in combat. Generally, Light Magic consisted mostly of Support Magic and wasn’t particularly strong in a fight.
Of course, this was mainly because it offered too few variations. Wizards already had no shortage of powerful offensive methods, so there were very few Light Magic Users, mostly due to their insufficient self-preservation capabilities.
And that was what made this Wizard, Miris, so special.
Miris was unlike other Legendary Mages. He possessed a natural talent for Magic Power—a rather high one, at that. He initially walked the path of an Arcanist. However, he had a near-fanatical obsession with Light Magic. It was obvious that by studying only Light Magic, his combat prowess would be on the weaker side, at least in the early stages.
Furthermore, despite being a genius, his perspective at the time was limited. He wasn’t sure if Light Magic would ever become truly powerful, or if he could even reach the pinnacle of his path relying on it alone.
So, after two days of deliberation, Miris decisively switched to the path of a Legendary Mage. He planned to use the *Mysterious* attribute inherent to Legendary Mages to unlock more possibilities for Light Magic.
Whether it was due to his own outstanding talent or the sheer power of this combination, his journey as a Legendary Mage was smooth sailing. After advancing to High-level Mage, he even mastered an extremely powerful Authority: *Light*!
The name was a single word, but its power was immense. It became even more profound when combined with the Legendary Mage’s *Mysterious* attribute. The Miris of today could attack, defend, dodge, escape, and even heal...
He was incredibly versatile and had made quite a name for himself among the High-level Mages of the Flesh Sect.
As Isaac was sizing them up, the other two were doing the exact same. They had started paying attention to this rising star of the Sect a long time ago...
Alright, perhaps not that long ago—only a little over a year, in fact.
Isaac had only been a Wizard for a few years in total, and the guy’s promotion speed was like he was using some kind of damn cheat, skyrocketing all the way!
Of course, they understood. He was a Mad Witch—and one of the most ancient and insane lines at that. Strictly speaking, his speed was actually considered slow among the old Mad Witches.
But even though his career had been short, it hadn’t prevented them from learning about him. He had slain a High-level Knight right after advancing to Tier Two. Upon becoming a High-level Mage, he could already suppress his peers and even instantly kill them with ease. Hearing about such a ferocious combat record made even them feel inadequate by comparison.
They knew that if it were them, they could never have achieved so much in the same amount of time.
The three of them approached, exchanged greetings, and then stood quietly to the side. Although all three were among the top echelon of Tier Three Mages—mainstays or even headline acts on other battlefields in the Endless Sea...
...here in the Floating Sea...
...they were clearly still a long way from the top.
Here, only Tier Four Mages had any real say. They were the ones leading this mission.
WHOOSH—
Fortunately, Isaac and his group didn’t have to wait long. Wizards were, after all, people who valued efficiency. After just a minute or two, two figures—a Black-robed Mage and a Green-robed Mage—descended from the sky and landed steadily before them. Their profound gazes swept over the group, pausing on Isaac for a moment before they gave a slight nod. Then, the Black-robed Mage waved his right hand gently.
Above the dock, Space slowly began to ripple. A seagoing vessel emerged from within and fell into the water with a loud SPLASH.
However, even after the ship appeared, Isaac and the others didn’t move to board it. They remained standing, motionless.
This was because at the same moment the ship appeared, several balls of black mist surged from the Black-robed Mage’s body. After circling in the air, they landed on the vessel, taking on the appearance of Isaac and the others, before sailing the ship away from the dock.
"Let’s go. It’s time for us to depart as well." Seeing the ship begin to move, the Black-robed Mage nodded. A Magic Carpet flew out from his Wizard Robe and hovered silently above the ground. The Black-robed Mage and the Green-robed Mage stepped onto it one after the other.
Isaac and the others followed suit.
This was their real mode of transportation.
This was also the most common method used in the Floating Sea. One decoy in the open, one real party in the shadows, moving in tandem. It greatly improved their safety.
Most importantly, it drastically reduced the risk posed by any potential traitors in their midst.
After all, whether they took the ship or the Magic Carpet was entirely dependent on the Tier Four Mage’s decision right before departure.
