Wizard: Scamming a Demon God
Chapter 311 - 230: The 3-Eyed Goblin’s Battle for Fame
Chapter 311: Chapter 230: The 3-Eyed Goblin’s Battle for Fame
That’s right, the Wilderness isn’t actually part of the Real World!
This was also one of the reasons Isaac suspected it was the creation of a Great Wizard.
Countless Pioneer Lords continuously developed the Wilderness. Beyond simply acquiring its rich resources and expanding their territories, the very act of pioneering was beneficial to the Real World. Naturally, the will of the Real World would offer feedback in return.
This feedback not only allowed one’s own power to advance with incredible speed but also ensured that their bloodline would produce generation after generation of geniuses. Its applications were, one might say, endless.
Unfortunately, pioneering the Wilderness was exceedingly difficult; it wasn’t something just anyone could afford to undertake.
But for Isaac, things were different. He had Dimension Apostles who didn’t fear death, a Dragon-man Saint Master whose power rivaled that of a High-level Demon, and an Infinite Expansion Decree that allowed him to claim the Wilderness as his own instantly, rather than waiting three years. All of this guaranteed that his pioneering speed would be astonishingly fast!
Far faster than any of the pioneering Nobility!
Including even those among the pioneering Nobility who had also obtained an Infinite Expansion Decree!
This was because after Isaac finished pioneering a stretch of Wilderness, he had no intention of actually managing the territory. His sole purpose was to convert the Wilderness into a part of the Real World and then immediately sacrifice it to an Outer God!
All to obtain power from the Outer God!
Normally, the act of sacrificing a part of the Real World would certainly incur a backlash from it. However, because the world’s will bestowed a boon for pioneering the Wilderness, that boon would perfectly offset the penalty for the sacrifice.
The boon came in, the sacrifice went out. The only price Isaac paid was the cheap labor of his Dimension Apostles. It was a trade with zero risk and infinite reward!
In fact, Isaac had previously considered whether he could earn his own Anchor Point by pioneering the Wilderness for the Real World, but he dismissed the idea as soon as it occurred to him.
Properly developing a territory was simply too much trouble. He had neither the inclination nor the need for it.
...
"Go!"
Within the Wilderness, the Saint Master led the Dimension Apostles to a canyon. Standing on a cliff overlooking the scene below, he gave the order. Instantly, several dark figures shot out from behind him, their hands glinting with the black light of Dimensional Magic Power as they charged into the gorge!
Of course, there was one exception. A single Dimension Apostle didn’t charge in—the Three-eyed Goblin.
After the Saint Master gave the command, black Magic Power surged into the goblin’s forehead. In an instant, its brow split open to reveal a sinister Demon Eye. Simultaneously, black Magic Power enveloped its right hand, and with a flash of dark light, a Magic Wand appeared in its grasp.
Upon seeing this, the Saint Master’s brow furrowed slightly. He recognized that Magic Wand. He gave the Three-eyed Goblin a long, hard look but said nothing.
The Magic Wand in the Three-eyed Goblin’s hand was none other than the Relics Staff: Silver Moon Vine, a gift Isaac had once received from his father, Gaia.
When he had first received it, Isaac had been thrilled. After all, in the many stories from his past life, weapons with infinite growth potential were always an incredibly precious commodity.
As a newly minted Wizard, Isaac had been ecstatic.
He hadn’t considered one crucial problem, however. A weapon with infinite growth was great, but only on the condition that it could continue to grow—and that its growth could keep pace with its wielder’s. Otherwise, it was completely useless!
Case in point: the Silver Moon Vine...
Isaac’s own power grew too quickly, he had too many powerful techniques at his disposal, and the enemies he faced were formidable. As a result, he had barely used the Relics a handful of times. By the time he became a High-level Mage, it had become completely obsolete.
So, Isaac had bestowed it upon the Three-eyed Goblin. Thanks to their master-servant relationship, he could use a few little tricks to prevent the Relics’s Ability Value from resetting, allowing it to be used again.
"Grow! Goblin Vine!"
As soon as the Magic Wand appeared, the Three-eyed Goblin planted the staff—which was as tall as itself—into the ground before it. The Demon Eye in its forehead flared with a sinister light!
In that instant, something bizarre occurred. The Magic Wand seemed to come alive, its shaft writhing. The end planted in the ground burrowed deep like a taproot, spreading rapidly and causing the earth above to bulge. Meanwhile, the end pointed toward the sky sprouted countless branches, like a dense, ancient tree.
All the while, a ceaseless flow of Dimensional Magic Power poured through the Three-eyed Goblin and into the Magic Wand. In a matter of moments, the slender staff had grown into a colossal, towering tree!
And from this tree, grotesque goblins began to sprout!
Their skin was as tough as tree bark, and they clutched thick, thorny clubs or Longbows. Their eyes glinted with the madness unique to creatures of the Dimension, and their facial features were even more twisted than those of an Ordinary goblin!
More importantly, their bodies were covered in Profound and twisted magical runes. A mere glance at them was enough to make one feel their own Magic Power threatening to spiral out of control!
This scene caused the Saint Master, himself an expert in the use of Dimensional Magic Power, to give the petite Three-eyed Goblin another long look. ’He never thought that little guy would actually manage to create something like this.’
"KYEHEHE!"
Upon seeing the successful birth of the Deceitful Wood Goblins from the tree, the Three-eyed Goblin let out a triumphant howl!
"KYEHEHEHE~~~"
Instantly, the Deceitful Wood Goblins born from the towering tree echoed its evil laughter. They struggled free, dropped from the branches, and began charging toward the valley with heavy, lumbering steps!
But it wasn’t over. The Demon Eye in the Three-eyed Goblin’s forehead flashed with Profound black light once more. From the bulging mounds on the ground, twisted roots burst forth. Some of them randomly pierced the summoned Deceitful Wood Goblins, while others surged into the valley to impale the Demons. A few even struck the Dimension Apostles who had charged in first.
"??" A middle-aged man, who also had a third eye on his forehead, stared down in bewilderment at the root tip poking out from his chest. It had stabbed him from behind. He turned his head in confusion, looking up toward the Three-eyed Goblin’s position on the cliff.
"...My apologies. A mistake," the Three-eyed Goblin said in a raspy voice after a moment of silence.
The Saint Master: "..."
The three-eyed man: "..."
As soon as the apology was given, the three-eyed man prepared to yank out the root. After all, while Dimension Apostles couldn’t die, they could still feel pain, and having a root stuck in his back would seriously hinder his fighting ability.
"SQUELCH!"
However, before the man could act, he felt the root inside him suddenly blossom, frantically draining everything from his body!
"You... bastard!"
The root drained his power with incredible speed. In the blink of an eye, the three-eyed man was reduced to a desiccated corpse, which then crumbled into black ash. Before he disintegrated, he just had enough time to glare back at the Three-eyed Goblin.
"The mistake was already made, so might as well make the best of it. Besides, his method of using that Demon Eye was far too crude," the Three-eyed Goblin explained in its raspy voice, feeling the Saint Master’s stare.
Hearing this, the Saint Master said no more. The Dimension Apostles couldn’t die anyway, so he let them do as they pleased. He turned his attention back to those bizarre roots.
"BOOM!"
Soon, supplied with a massive amount of Magic Power and flesh, giant Deceitful Wood Goblins, each over ten meters tall, rose from the ground. With lifeless eyes, they marched toward the canyon with mechanical strides.
"This..." The Saint Master’s pupils contracted. He was stunned.
To him, these giant Deceitful Wood Goblins were the kind of fodder he could eliminate with a single Dragon Breath, but that didn’t mean they were weak. In fact, for a goblin variant, they were already incredibly strong! 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚
They had reached the level of Tier Two Lower!
And given their immense size, their actual combat strength was likely even higher.
"The goblin species is simply too fragile; they can’t handle much Dimensional Magic Power. So, I made a few... small modifications," the goblin explained.
As it spoke, a Magic Wand emerged from the trunk of the towering tree. The Three-eyed Goblin took it, and with a wave, the Demon Eye of the sole three-eyed giant among the Deceitful Wood Goblins flared with a dazzling black flash. And then...
"BOOM!!!"
A Magic Cannon blast, with power comparable to Tier Two Upper, slammed directly into the canyon, kicking up a massive mushroom cloud!
Watching the scene unfold, the Saint Master fell silent. In that moment, he truly and profoundly understood the meaning of the phrase ’Knowledge is power.’...
’How could a mere goblin achieve something like this?’
