Chapter 119 - 99: Publishing a Paper and the Mutual Multiplication of Water and Fire
Chapter 119: Chapter 99: Publishing a Paper and the Mutual Multiplication of Water and Fire
The first paragraph of the paper was the introduction.
It detailed the origins and characteristics of the Samadhi True Flame and the One-Element Heavy Water, pointing out that current research on Elemental Fusion lacked cases of this specific type of Water-Fire Fusion, and proposed that this study filled the gap.
The second part was the theoretical framework. It analyzed the three flame structures of the Samadhi True Flame and the liquid crystalline properties of the One-Element Heavy Water, demonstrating the feasibility of their fusion from the perspective of Element frequencies.
The frequency of the Samadhi True Flame exhibited non-linear oscillations in high-temperature zones, while the frequency of the One-Element Heavy Water maintained linear stability in low-temperature zones. Under specific conditions, the two could resonate.
The third part outlined the experimental methods. This was the core section, incorporating knowledge of the Phase Angle Ladder.
The fourth part presented the experimental results.
Chen Shang listed the energy output data post-fusion: the leverage multiplier stabilized between 18 and 22 times, with a peak instantaneous output reaching 2,400 degrees.
This was equivalent to a full-force strike from a Third Level Apprentice in the late stages of Specialization. He also attached three energy waveform charts recorded in the static field.
The fifth part involved an in-depth discussion.
It analyzed the limitations of the fusion model and directions for improvement, noting that the insufficient completeness of the Samadhi True Flame caused instability in the fusion. It also proposed the next steps: enhancing the completeness of both origin powers, optimizing the structure of the Phase Angle Ladder, and pushing the leverage multiplier even higher.
The final part was the conclusion. It summarized the research findings and pointed out the feasibility and application prospects of this kind of Water-Fire Fusion.
Additionally, he included annotations at the end regarding the Phase Angle knowledge and Multiple Magic Springs, clarifying that these were the intellectual creations of Senior Apprentice Leia and Wizard Hathaway.
After writing the final word, Chen Shang read through the entire paper. He tweaked a few phrases, read it a second time, and finally stopped.
This was his first time drafting a relatively complete academic paper. Unlike his previous work detailing isolated steps for Creation Species, this was a comprehensive presentation of experimental results.
From the construction of the Samadhi True Flame and One-Element Heavy Water, to the establishment of the Magic Spring, and finally utilizing Phase Angles to attempt the fusion model—it had all culminated in this final achievement.
Chen Shang had given this Witchcraft a name: Water-Fire Heaven Extremes.
He opened the journal submission interface for *Elemental Storm*, uploaded his paper, filled in the keywords, selected the "Elemental Fusion" category, and clicked submit.
The system quickly popped up a notification: "Manuscript received. The review period is approximately thirty working days. You will be notified once the review is approved."
Closing the page, Chen Shang leaned back in his chair and slipped into Meditation.
The next morning, Chen Shang headed straight to the Witchcraft testing grounds in the Starfall Half-Plane to request a Third Level Apprentice arena.
This place was entirely different from the static experimental field. The latter was designed to stabilize Element states and leaned more toward controlled experiments rather than testing offensive Witchcraft; thus, its defensive limit was only 1,000 degrees.
In contrast, the Witchcraft testing grounds were specifically built for that exact purpose. The defensive threshold for a Third Level Apprentice arena was a robust 3,000 degrees.
The administrator on duty was a gray-haired elderly apprentice who had been stuck at the threshold of becoming a Third Level Apprentice for many years. He was known for his rigid, by-the-book personality.
He glanced at Chen Shang’s application, then at the emblem pinned to Chen Shang’s chest. Shaking his head, he rejected the request.
"Sorry, a Second Level Apprentice cannot enter a Third Level Testing Ground. It’s the rules."
Chen Shang didn’t argue. He was just about to leave when a voice rang out from behind him.
"Swipe my card."
A young man wearing a dark Blue robe walked over from the other end of the corridor. He was tall, slender, and had a gaunt face.
Stepping up to the administrator, he tapped his Identity Card on the sensor and booked a room.
"Thank you, senior," Chen Shang said.
The young man turned around. "You’re Chen Shang, right?"
Chen Shang nodded. "Do you know me, senior?"
"My name is Orian," the young man said in a flat tone, skipping any pleasantries. "You’re somewhat famous now. The genius recognized by Master Haimer Wizard—a lot of people are talking about it."
Chen Shang didn’t reply, but Orian didn’t mind. He stepped aside, gesturing for Chen Shang to enter first.
"Have you completed your Force Touch Perception? Why aren’t you at the Repulsive-Attractive Dual Force Training Ground? Instead, you’re here at the Witchcraft testing grounds. You should be seizing every moment to Cultivate your Repulsive and Attractive Dual Force right now."
Chen Shang paused in surprise. He hadn’t yet visited the Repulsive-Attractive Dual Force Training Ground, which was a facility specifically designed for practicing Micro-Repulsive Guidance and Micro-Attractor techniques.
Because not every apprentice possessed the Special Metal Plate that Hathaway had gifted him, most people needed to rely on the training ground’s specialized environment to stably manipulate Repulsive Force and Gravity.
"Thanks for the reminder. I have a few new ideas, though. I’ll go check it out after I finish testing my Witchcraft," Chen Shang said.
"Good luck." Orian didn’t ask further. He nodded, turned, and walked away. His footsteps echoed briefly down the corridor before fading away.
Chen Shang opened his interface and took a look. Orian wasn’t someone Cultivating the Repulsive and Attractive Dual Force, meaning there was no direct competition between them. It was likely just a casual gesture to get acquainted.
Entering the testing ground, he found himself in a circular, enclosed room. The walls, ceiling, and floor were all plated with thick, silvery-white metal, heavily engraved with densely packed protective Runes.
Standing dead center in the room, Chen Shang adjusted his breathing and sank his Heart Spirit deep into his Sea of Consciousness.
Two Magic Springs flared to life simultaneously. The Samadhi True Flame surged out from the second spring, while the One-Element Heavy Water violently churned in the third.
The dark Gold Flame and the deep Blue watery glow erupted from his body, rushing along two completely separate meridian pathways toward the palm of his right hand.
The instant the two Powers converged above his palm, the light in the entire testing ground seemed to dim for a split second. It wasn’t that the lights had actually gone out, but rather that the coalescing Energy Ball was so blindingly brilliant it rendered everything else dull by comparison.
