Just then, the door was pushed open from the outside, and a slender witch in a blue robe quickly walked in.

"Chief Ragnar, Legendary Mages, the results are in!"

"Wizard Olifuna, share the results."

It was none other than Nana from the Nightmare Realm—Wizard Olifuna Villarba.

Her appearance now was far more corporeal than it had been in the Nightmare Realm, no longer shrouded by those illusory black shadows.

"Based on the verified reports from multiple research centers, the results are conclusive—the flaws that the Faceless Mage mentioned are real!"

Olifuna took a deep breath, her expression grave as she continued, "With the corrections, Spirit consumption is reduced by 20 percent, and the range of a same-level Blink Spell is increased by 25 percent..."

"That high?!"

"How is that possible?"

"How could two flaws, just subtle changes, lead to such a significant improvement?"

Before Olifuna could finish, the Legendary Mages of the Spiritual Mystery School in attendance all lost their usual composure and broke out in an uproar.

Even Ragnar, the Chief of the Spiritual Mystery School, was momentarily stunned after hearing the detailed, verified results.

’The flaws in the Blink Rune are real...’

’The Blink Rune... then...’

"This meeting is suspended!" Ragnar’s expression changed dramatically as he shot to his feet. "Everyone, myself included, will focus on only one thing from now on—verifying whether all commonly used Magic Runes have similar flaws!"

’It would be one thing if only the Blink Spell had flaws. But if other spells have them too...’

’Then something must be fundamentally wrong!’

The other Wizards were stunned for a moment, then they too understood the implications. One by one, they rose and left, their hurried expressions suggesting the sky itself was falling.

"Chief Ragnar, there’s no need to be so anxious," Rosa Witch said reassuringly. "Even if they all have problems, as long as we correct them all, the strength of our Spiritual Mystery School’s Elemental Mages will increase..."

"I know," Ragnar raised a hand, stopping her from continuing. His gaze shifted to the somewhat bewildered Olifuna. "Wizard Olifuna, I have a special request for you."

"A-a request?" Olifuna froze, her expression growing even more flustered. "Chief Ragnar, please, go on."

"I am excusing you from the upcoming research work. You have only one mission: maintain contact with the Faceless Mage. I need to know about the most critical flaw he mentioned!"

Rosa Witch’s gaze flickered as she looked at Ragnar. ’She hadn’t expected him to remain so clear-headed at such a tense moment.’

’But she had to admit, they definitely needed to do more to win over the Faceless Mage!’

"Alright!" Olifuna agreed without a second thought. "Then, about the matter of the Legendary Magic, Destiny Barrier, that he wants..."

"Promise him!" Ragnar glanced at Rosa Witch, his tone more solemn than ever. "If we verify that other Magic Runes also have flaws, then even if he wants the complete knowledge of the Destiny Divination system... promise him that too!"

"Ragnar, you..." Rosa was stunned, unable to believe her ears. "Is it necessary to pay such a high price for those flaws?"

"A high price? Compared to correcting all the Magic Runes, the Destiny Divination system is nothing!"

After saying this coolly, Ragnar waved his hand at Olifuna. "Do as I’ve said."

Olifuna hesitated for a moment, then bowed. "I understand, Chief Lord."

With that, she turned and left, her mind buzzing. She never would have imagined that the small gathering she had unintentionally organized could cause such a major upheaval for the School.

"Ragnar, what are you thinking?" Rosa could no longer hold back. "Although I admit that correcting the Magic Runes will be a great help to us, you should know the importance of the Destiny Divination system. That is a complete path to godhood unique to the Spiritual Secret..."

"But what if I told you there might be more than three flaws in the Magic Runes?"

"What?!"

Ragnar turned, his back to her, and walked to the window. He gazed at the red moon in the night sky, a shadow of gloom falling over his bright eyes.

"It’s very likely true."

"What do you mean, ’true’ or not? If it’s true, then we just fix it!" Rosa tugged at her Wizard Robe in frustration.

"You don’t understand..."

Ragnar sighed and said no more.

’The existence of even one flaw proves that the ancient runology passed down by their Spiritual Mystery School... has likely—no, has *definitely*—been secretly altered by someone!’

’Though he hadn’t lived through the time of Heiyalmar Deli Witch in the Third Era, given that founder’s greatness, they would never have left behind a legacy of Magic Runes with so many flaws.’

’He could hardly imagine who could do such a thing, or what powerful existence could accomplish all this without the Spiritual Secret ever noticing.’

’A god?’

’At least one god!’

’And what was more likely... was that the culprit was one of the great Wizards from within the Spiritual Mystery School’s own history...’

’But it no longer mattered who it was.’

’The important thing now was to fix all the Magic Runes first. Only then could he free himself up to fully investigate the matter of the runic legacy.’

’Until then, those runic flaws were like a blade hanging over the heads of all the Wizards of the Spiritual Mystery School, ready to fall at any moment and shatter this great Wizard School—a school with a legacy spanning three eras!’

...

...

「Meanwhile, at the Ghost Soul School’s Ice Castle Research Center.」

Boras violently swung his staff. A ray of black light tore through the night sky, blasting toward the distant ice fields.

RUMBLE.

Amidst the tremendous roar, Boras bellowed, "What!? The Wizard who discovered the flaws in the Magic Runes is one of ours—from the Ghost Soul School?!"
