Chapter 93: Chapter 93: Magic Perception

Andre took out 1,800 Medium Magic Stones and handed them to the stall owner, whose hands trembled as he accepted them.

Andre’s haggling had just wiped out two-fifths of the owner’s five-hundred-stone profit.

But the stall owner accepted it, hoping to stay on Andre’s good side.

’Is that all?’ Andre thought as he placed the Howling Wind Tree into his Storage Ring. He continued searching for Wind Magic Plants, and it wasn’t until evening that he found his second one.

"Wind Blade Grass!" Andre looked at the magic plant before him and nodded in satisfaction.

As its name suggested, Wind Blade Grass could emit a Wind Blade, but this was a Passive ability that only triggered when the plant was harmed.

Andre negotiated with the stall owner for a moment before acquiring it for the price of three thousand Medium Magic Stones.

’Time to head back. I wonder if Potato has been messing with the Magic Plants!’

Andre drew a Witchcraft Curse Seal in the air with his hands. In the blink of an eye, Multiple Wings of the Wind appeared on his back.

Andre spread his arms, rolled his shoulders a few times, and then broke into a run, using the power of the Multiple Wings of the Wind to soar into the sky.

After flying for a while, Andre used the power of the Wind to change direction mid-air and began flying toward the Wizard Inheritance Hall.

Soon, he arrived back at the Wizard Inheritance Hall and opened the door to his room.

’Looks pretty good.’

Andre nodded in satisfaction as he took in the scene, which was unchanged from when he had left that morning.

This meant Potato had actually taken his morning lecture to heart.

It also represented the smooth development of Potato’s Soul.

And one of the markers for a developing Soul was an increase in intelligence.

"Come out!" Andre went outside the Wizard Inheritance Hall and released Seven Rings from the Servant Bag, then tossed the Magical Beast carcasses he had bought for it onto the ground.

The moment Seven Rings smelled the flesh and blood, it pounced on the carcasses.

Andre, however, kept one Gale Tiger carcass for himself. He skinned it, exposing the meat beneath.

Tonight, he was going to have a barbecue.

’Ever since I came to the academy, my diet has been either Magic Plants or a simple meal of meat porridge and jerky from the cafeteria. It’s been so long since I’ve eaten anything else!’

Andre butchered the Gale Tiger’s carcass. He then took an iron skewer from his Storage Ring and threaded the cuts of meat onto it.

He then snapped his fingers. Immediately, a rustling sound came from the nearby woods.

Soon, a piece of deadwood arrived at Andre’s feet.

Andre lit the deadwood, placed the skewer over the fire, and at the same time, took out a Honeycomb and stuffed it into the mouth of Potato, who had just emerged from the ground.

Earlier, when he had first opened his door, he had sent Potato to fetch some wood.

Potato took the Honeycomb and lay down at Andre’s feet, licking it continuously.

After all this time, Potato had also discovered the benefits Honeycomb had for it.

And so the man and his two beasts ate their respective dinners.

About ten minutes later, Andre sprinkled some seasoning onto the tiger meat.

The moment the seasonings were added, the already rich, meaty aroma of the tiger meat grew even more intense.

’It’s been a long time since I’ve eaten like this. It really brings back memories!’

A look of nostalgia flashed in Andre’s eyes as he watched the tiger meat sizzling with oil as it roasted.

Ever since he’d transmigrated, although his family were freemen and ran a business, meat wasn’t something they could afford to eat all the time.

The cost of raising livestock was too high, and it took too long.

After arriving in this world, the most common meats he ate were chicken and duck.

Andre took the skewer off the fire, used a small knife to slice off a piece of cooked tiger meat, and popped it into his mouth.

’So delicious!’

Andre chewed on the tough tiger meat, nodding in satisfaction. But then, his body suddenly froze.

He felt a Power flow from his stomach and spread throughout his body.

’Does this Gale Tiger have some special Bloodline?’

Andre looked at the tiger skin he had peeled off and compared it to the Gale Tiger in Seven Rings’s mouth.

After a brief comparison, Andre couldn’t find any difference between them.

’Could it be... this feeling is an Ability I gained after observing the natural Demon Patterns?’

Chewing on the tiger meat, Andre called up the System.

A new ability had indeed appeared in the Ability section: Magic Perception.

’This is an ability that many people can only dream of having!’

A sharp glint flashed in Andre’s eyes as he looked at this ability.

This ability would allow him to perceive the mobilization of Witchcraft when fighting others.

As long as his opponent used Witchcraft, they would have to channel Magic Power, and at that point, no movement of their Magic Power could escape his notice.

’Eye of Truth, Light of Insight, and Magic Perception.’

With these three abilities combined, it would be incredibly difficult for an enemy to launch a successful sneak attack on him.

Andre continued to chew the tiger meat, his mind racing as he looked at the Witchcraft he possessed, thinking about how to maximize the effects of Magic Perception.

’It can also be used for concocting Potions and crafting Witchcraft Artifacts.’

Looking at Magic Perception, Andre’s mind instantly connected the dots, thinking of other ways this ability could be used.

But right now, the ability’s greatest use for him was not in combat, nor in concocting Potions or crafting Witchcraft Artifacts.

Instead, it was to help him fuse the five Elements he was working with—Earth, Wind, Water, Fire, and Thunder—and thus turn his grand design into reality.

’This is great news for me.’

Andre nodded in satisfaction, seeing that his grand design was now one step closer to success.

He then closed the System and continued eating his dinner.

After dinner, Andre took several Magic Energy Lamps and went to the mountain behind the Wizard Inheritance Hall.

He hung the Magic Energy Lamps on the earth pillars he had created.

These Magic Energy Lamps were to light up an area for Seven Rings to play in, and also to gauge its current Power.

’When it comes to Fusion Witchcraft, opposing elements like water and fire, or light and dark, are the most common combinations. This is because such conflicting Witchcraft is far more powerful.’

’My current mastery of the water and fire Demon Patterns is among the top three of all the patterns I know, so they’re perfect for a test run.’

Andre hung up the last lamp and began his attempt.
