Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 90: Sensing Life
Chapter 90: Chapter 90: Sensing Life
"Now for the most crucial step!"
Andre took a flowerpot filled with soil from his Storage Ring, placed it in the room, and arranged all the tools for preparing Magic Plants beside it.
This time, he was preparing a fertilizer-type potion. His goal was not only to restore Magic Plants like the Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree whose life force had begun to fade after a long time in the Storage Ring, but also to practice a Witchcraft he had found in the Wizard Inheritance Hall, one left behind by the Ancient Demon Pattern Master, Joge Air.
This Witchcraft happened to complement his Eye of Truth, allowing it to exhibit the power of a Level 1 Witchcraft even while he was still a High Level Wizard Apprentice.
"Let’s begin. I’ll start with the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree!"
Andre took the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree from his Storage Ring, planted it in the flowerpot, uncorked a test tube, and poured out the potion.
As the potion touched the soil and the roots of the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree, a soft RUSTLE and SWISH emanated from it.
"The potion is working!"
Upon hearing this faint sound, a smile immediately appeared on Andre’s face. He grabbed more potions and began to pour them into the flowerpot.
After the third potion was poured into the flowerpot, the root system of the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree, stimulated by the potion, began to take root in the soil.
Seeing the change in the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree, Andre closed his eyes, then opened them again.
Two metallic discs composed of runes spun continuously in his eyes, and at the same time, a faint white light emanated from the surface of his body.
As this white light appeared, the scene Andre could see with his eyes began to change constantly.
At first, Andre’s Eye of Truth could only see the flow of Magic Power in the world.
But now, with the enhancement of this white light—the Light of Insight invented by Joge Air—he was getting a preview of what his vision would be like after becoming an Official Wizard.
At this moment, the Eye of Truth could see the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree, under the effect of the potion, continuously absorbing Magic Power from the outside world.
As the Magic Power was absorbed by the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree, Andre could clearly see the process of the Magic Power flowing inside it.
And during this process, this Magic Power formed natural Demon Patterns in certain locations within the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree.
It was precisely these natural Demon Patterns that made the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree what it was, giving the Clear Brain Fruit its unique effect.
Upon seeing these natural Demon Patterns, Andre was instantly engrossed, and a peculiar aroma began to emanate from his body.
As Andre became more and more immersed in these natural Demon Patterns, the aroma from his body grew stronger.
As Andre’s perception of these natural Demon Patterns deepened, the aroma began to spread outward.
When this aroma touched the grass, trees, and flowers, streams of green Magic Power began to seep out of the plants and surge into Andre’s body.
"The breath of life!" As the aroma grew richer, more and more Magic Power surged into Andre’s body.
Just as he returned to the Wizard Inheritance Hall, Radak teleported into Andre’s room. Watching Andre comprehending the Demon Patterns, his eyes filled with profound surprise.
"The Power of Life... and he’s so young!"
Just then, Farrete also walked in from outside, looking at Andre, who was perceiving the Demon Patterns.
"It’s so late. What are you doing here?"
Radak shot Farrete a sideways glance.
"The Master assigned Andre a task. He sent me to tell him..."
Farrete, noticing Radak’s scrutinizing gaze, said helplessly.
"What task?"
Radak asked Farrete.
"The Master... intends to send Andre back to the Black and White Forest for more training..."
Radak’s eyes widened when he heard Farrete’s words.
"Last time, Andre caused quite a stir over there.
He killed six Black Wizards in one go, sending everyone into a panic."
"And now Krell wants you to send Andre back? Aren’t you afraid he’ll be ruthless and wipe out the entire Black and White Forest?"
Farrete shook his head. Radak raised his Magic Staff, struck the ground with it, and the mission scroll in Farrete’s hand turned to dust.
"This is the mission my Master gave me. What can I do?"
Farrete spread his hands helplessly.
’Krell is my Master, and he’s also the Vice Dean, a position higher than my own. I can only do as he commands; I have no right to refuse.’
"Hmph! When he gets back, I’ll have a score to settle with him!"
Hearing Farrete’s words, Radak snorted coldly, his expression furious.
Farrete naturally knew why Radak was angry with Krell.
’But it isn’t my place as a disciple to interfere in the internal affairs of Krell’s family. After all, I’m an outsider to them.’
"Originally, when Krell took Andre as a disciple, I was thinking of pairing him with Selena. With the power of their Talent Witchcraft, they could have formed the simplest form of an Expeditionary Corps."
"But now... forget it. We can’t afford to use people from their family."
As Radak spoke, he struck the ground with his Magic Staff again.
Hearing Radak’s words, Farrete could only give a bitter smile in response to Radak’s fury.
At the same time, he was inwardly cursing Selena and the others.
’Of all the people to target, you just had to pick Andre.’
’Now look what you’ve done. You’ve infuriated Radak, an old man who’s lived for thousands of years. It’s a good thing your family has a few Morning Star Great Wizards, or with Radak’s temper, he would have wiped out all of your great families!’
"Well, I’ll be leaving then!"
Seeing that Radak had intercepted the mission, Farrete knew that staying any longer would only draw Radak’s ire.
To avoid having Radak vent his anger on him, Farrete spoke to Radak, then turned to leave immediately.
But Radak didn’t even spare him a glance.
This allowed Farrete to slip away quietly from the Wizard Inheritance Hall, leaving Radak to watch over Andre, who was still perceiving the natural Demon Patterns.
This state of comprehension lasted the entire night.
It wasn’t until nine in the morning that Andre finally stood up, emerging from his state of comprehension.
"You’re awake!" The moment Andre stood up, he heard Radak’s voice.
"Master!"
Andre looked toward Radak, who was standing at the door.
"It seems you’ve gained quite a bit from this session!"
Radak pointed at Andre’s body. Andre looked down and saw that he was covered in a thick layer of greasy grime.
"What is this?"
Andre stared at the grime on his body, completely bewildered. ’Wasn’t I perceiving the Demon Patterns inside the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree last night? Where did all this grime come from?’
"What am I going to do with you?"
Radak looked at Andre’s bewildered expression and sighed helplessly, a very complex look in his eyes.
’Sometimes, a student with too much talent is truly a master’s nightmare. And right now, Andre is my nightmare.’
In Radak’s view, it was absolutely the right thing for Andre to be observing the natural Demon Patterns inside the Mind-clearing Fruit Tree.
This was because the Demon Patterns Andre had studied before were all from books, not ones he had seen with his own eyes.
Although they weren’t much different, there was still a fundamental difference between what was recorded and what was natural.
And by observing natural Demon Patterns, Andre could correct the Demon Runes he had seen in books.
After making these corrections, Andre would see significant improvement, whether in his study of Demon Patterns or in his casting of Witchcraft.
And this was precisely the path followed by the very first Wizards in ancient times.
Observe nature, understand everything from nature, master the power of nature for one’s own use, and thereby grasp the Truth, master Power, and achieve immortality.
But Radak had never expected that Andre, in his very first experience with natural Demon Patterns, would become so immersed, perceiving their internal structure and the source of power within them.
Through this comprehension, he had absorbed the Power of Life from the outside world into himself.
This sort of thing had happened to him once, too, but it had been in a place rich with Elements.
But Andre had done it right here in the Wizard Inheritance Hall, directly absorbing the Power of Life from the plants outside.
’This achievement has already surpassed my own when I was young.’
