Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 84: Evolutionary Direction
Chapter 84: Chapter 84: Evolutionary Direction
"Well, kid? Are you trading or not?"
Farrete forcefully suppressed the rage burning in his chest. He glared at Andre and spoke through gritted teeth.
Andre looked at Farrete and nodded, then began calculating the exchange rate between the branch of the Cyan Spirit Tree and the Earth Element Crystals in his possession.
Although branches of the Cyan Spirit Tree rarely leave the Elf Ancestral Land, this piece before him was a newly grown one.
It was probably cut within the last twenty years. However, because it had been detached for so long, a good deal of the Power within had already dissipated.
But that wasn’t what interested Andre. He was interested in the fact that a branch from the Cyan Spirit Tree could accelerate the growth of a creature’s Soul.
Furthermore, this growth was free of side effects and wouldn’t cause any problems for the Soul.
Therefore, branches of the Cyan Spirit Tree were also one of the treasures many Alchemists dreamed of obtaining.
After calculating for a good while, Andre took out three Earth Element Crystals from his Storage Ring.
"Farrete, this is my price."
Andre said earnestly, holding out the three Earth Element Crystals.
"That’s it?" Farrete frowned, looking at the three Earth Element Crystals in Andre’s hand.
"Judging by the cut on this branch, it was harvested quite a long time ago—at least ten years."
"Although there’s still some life force left, a lot of the Power inside has already been lost. If it had just been picked from the Cyan Spirit Tree, I would have been willing to pay this price."
As Andre spoke, he took out a head-sized Earth Element Crystal, then immediately put it back into his Storage Ring.
"Fine!"
Farrete eyed the three fist-sized Earth Element Crystals in Andre’s right hand. Gritting his teeth, he handed the Cyan Spirit Tree branch to Andre.
He then snatched the three Earth Element Crystals and left the Wizard Inheritance Hall.
As he departed, Farrete shot Andre a vicious glare.
He couldn’t believe it. He had only come to trade for some Earth Element Crystals for his research.
But unexpectedly, his family’s deepest secrets had been exposed by Andre in the process.
"You really managed to offend him this time."
After Farrete left, Radak looked at Andre, smiling and shaking his head.
"How was I supposed to know? Who could’ve guessed that the descendant of that legendary figure would be him?"
Andre shrugged, putting on a helpless expression.
"Don’t bring this up again. Otherwise, if Farrete decides to teach you a lesson, I can’t help you."
Radak’s smile faded as he warned Andre.
Andre nodded, looking at the section of Cyan Spirit Tree branch in his hand.
This section was less than 20cm long, with three forks and thirteen leaves. If ground into powder, it wouldn’t even weigh 200 grams.
Yet this tiny thing was exchanged for three Earth Element Crystals.
On the surface, it seemed Andre had suffered a huge loss in this barter.
But in reality, Andre hadn’t lost anything in this trade.
Because this section of Cyan Spirit Tree branch could be used to concoct at least twenty vials of Hidden Spirit Potion.
Each Potion could help Potato save a month of growth time.
Twenty vials meant twenty months, whereas if Potato ate those three Earth Element Crystals, they wouldn’t even last a week.
In a way, it was Andre who had gotten the better end of the deal.
"Now that Farrete has made this trade, others will know the general price."
Radak said, looking at Andre. Andre nodded, released Potato from the Servant Bag, and handed it a fist-sized Earth Element Crystal.
Potato swallowed the Earth Element Crystal already in its mouth, then took the new one from Andre’s hand and began to gnaw on it. CRUNCH, CRUNCH.
"Teacher, I’d like to ask, is there any way to evolve a Mixed-blood Dragon Beast into a Pure-blooded Dragon Beast?"
Andre also released Seven Rings from the Servant Bag.
After being released by Andre, Seven Rings blinked to adjust to the sunlight, then began to run wildly around the open space.
It had been cooped up inside the Servant Bag for too long.
Although there was plenty of room for it in that space, there was no light inside. It was pitch-black and very oppressive.
Such an environment was very uncomfortable for the naturally active Seven Rings.
So after coming out, Seven Rings began to run around constantly, familiarizing itself with its surroundings.
"A Mixed-blood Dragon Beast, and one with a relatively pure Bloodline at that."
When Radak saw Andre release Seven Rings, his figure flashed. He appeared above Seven Rings’s head, lightly touched one of its scales, and immediately got a sense of the Bloodline within its body.
"You want to raise it to become a Giant Dragon?"
Radak’s figure flickered and reappeared at the entrance of the Wizard Inheritance Hall. Andre nodded.
"There are generally two ways a Mixed-blood Dragon Beast can be born."
"The first is when a Giant Dragon reproduces with another species. The resulting offspring possesses the Bloodline of a Giant Dragon but hasn’t condensed the True Fate of the Dragon Race, so they are called Mixed-blood Dragon Beasts."
"The second is when the Mixed-blood Dragon Beast offspring of a Giant Dragon reproduces with yet another species."
"This Mixed-blood Dragon Beast here should be a descendant of the first type. Elevating its Bloodline to become a Pure-blooded Dragon Beast should be relatively easy. But you got it from a Secret Realm, didn’t you?"
Andre nodded. Radak watched him, then took a deep breath.
"And that’s where the problem lies. This little guy is the result of inbreeding. Although its Bloodline is extremely pure, if you want its Bloodline to transform, you must first do one thing."
"Shatter its Bloodline and reconstruct its very origin."
"Only by doing this can you minimize the disadvantages brought on by inbreeding."
As Radak spoke, his tone carried a hint of how difficult this would be.
"Teacher, can this problem be solved with the Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree?"
Listening to Radak, Andre thought of the Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree he had taken from the Mixed-blood Dragon Beast Tribe.
"It’s possible. But if you want to use the Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree to solve this problem, you’ll need a large amount of Giant Dragon blood to make it grow."
"The cost would be no less than buying a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon outright."
Radak gave Andre a surprised look. He hadn’t expected Andre to actually consider using the Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree to raise this Mixed-blood Dragon Beast.
"Teacher, besides the Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree, are there any other methods?"
Andre asked. Without a moment’s hesitation, Radak gave him two solutions.
"First, let it eat the corpses of other Dragon Beasts. The corpse of a Pure-blooded Giant Dragon would be best."
"Second, let it enter the Blood Pool on Dragon Island to purify its Bloodline. Or, it could replace its Bloodline with that of another Giant Dragon in the Blood Pool to solve the problem."
After Radak explained the solutions, Andre’s face fell.
Both methods were incredibly expensive.
Fortunately, he had the Dragon Transformation Fruit Tree, which could lower the expense since it could also be nurtured with other resources.
When the time came, he could directly use a Dragon Transformation Fruit to solve Seven Rings’s problem.
