Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 248 - 250: Record
Chapter 248: Chapter 250: Record
"This sphere is extremely hard, but you can’t infuse it with Magic Power. In other words, aside from throwing it to attack an enemy, it has no other use," Red-haired Klein said to Andre.
"Really?" Andre looked at the sphere in his hand, then glanced at Red-haired Klein in confusion.
Red-haired Klein blushed, waved his hand dismissively, and vanished before Andre’s eyes.
’Even though I expected this, I’m still a little disappointed now that it’s confirmed.’
Andre put the sphere away and went to the archives to look up the recent activities of the Pantheon World Group.
’It’s been very quiet. Aside from launching two divine expeditions, there hasn’t been any other activity.’
A theory formed in Andre’s mind as he flipped through the records on the Pantheon World Group.
’Could it be that the ones who attacked the Three Great Divine Spirits were other Divine Spirits from within the Pantheon World Group?’
’That’s why the other Divine Spirits from the Pantheon World Group haven’t come out to search for them.’
’If that’s the case, then it all adds up.’
Andre rubbed his temples. The reason the Main Institute’s archives had no information on this matter was that the attackers were Divine Spirits themselves.
Of course the Main Institute wouldn’t keep records of infighting among Divine Spirits.
It’s not the first time there’s been a dog-eat-dog conflict among the Divine Spirits. If the academy recorded every instance, they’d have to expand the archives countless times just to store it all.
’What could possibly make a Divine Spirit turn on their own kind?’
After a moment of thought, Andre could only conclude that a treasure must have been involved.
’If it was a treasure, it must have been something that could elevate a Divine Spirit to the level of a Primordial Divine Spirit.’
With this in mind, Andre immediately began searching the academy’s records on the subject. He soon found a relevant entry.
"’Thirty thousand years ago, in the Ninth Branch World, a being known as the Huiming Supreme God began the process of ascension to become a Primordial Divine Spirit. They have not been seen since. Suspected failure.—Recorded by Red Light.’"
’He’s a Divine Spirit from the Ninth Branch World Group, just like the others. That alone is enough to make him a suspect.’
Andre stared at the entry, then continued scrolling down, quickly finding its source.
’The Red Light Truth Great Wizard Master personally used Witchcraft to investigate... that makes sense. A Primordial Divine Spirit is equivalent to a Truth Great Wizard.’
’The Wizard Civilization and the Pantheon World Group are enemies. When a top-tier combatant is about to emerge from within the enemy’s ranks, the Wizard Civilization has no choice but to take notice.’
Andre nodded at the information’s source and then closed the entry.
The "suspected failure" part was the reason he could access this record at all.
If the Huiming Supreme God had succeeded, any information about him would have been classified by the upper echelons of the Wizard Civilization.
But as it stood, the Huiming Supreme God hadn’t been seen in thirty thousand years. The probability of failure was at least seventy percent.
Odds like that were as good as a confirmed failure.
That was why Andre was able to view the information on the Huiming Supreme God.
’Four Great Divine Spirits fighting over a single treasure. Three were killed, and the one who got it also ran into trouble and failed. What a mess.’
After lamenting the fate of the Four Great Divine Spirits, Andre began searching for information on hieroglyphics.
In a few days, he would be heading to the Cosmic Sea World. His mission there was to decipher the hieroglyphics.
Therefore, familiarizing himself with the subject beforehand would save him a lot of time.
’The Origin of Writing, The Structure of Characters, The Connection Between Writing and Demon Patterns...’
As soon as Andre hit search, a long list of book titles appeared before him.
Andre blinked at the list of titles and began making his selections.
First, *The Origin of Writing* and *The Connection Between Writing and Demon Patterns* were essential. Next, *A Study of Early Writing* and *The Process of Written Evolution* were also mandatory reads.
After selecting those four, Andre continued to browse.
He added *The Evolution of Demon Patterns* and *A Study on the Process of Written Evolution* before finally stopping.
Next, he took out his Token and paid 200 Merit Points to have the six books he’d selected printed.
With a series of white flashes, the six books Andre had chosen materialized in front of him.
Andre stacked the six books. The pile reached his waist.
And these were the abridged versions. Including all the filler from the unabridged editions, the stack would have been taller than him.
’It’ll probably take a week to get through these six.’
Cradling the six books, Andre left the War Mother Ship and returned to the Morning Sky to begin his reading.
He started with *The Origin of Writing*. The very first sentence on the first page explained it all:
"Writing is born from the need for communication between living beings."
Andre read the words, quickly becoming engrossed.
He was only roused from his reading when the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant nudged him with its trunk.
"What’s wrong?" Andre asked, stifling a yawn.
"Time to depart," the Eight-toothed Giant Elephant said, gesturing forward with its trunk. Andre looked up to see Red-haired Klein watching him, arms crossed.
Andre dog-eared the page to mark his spot and closed the book.
"How many days have you been reading?"
Red-haired Klein sighed as he looked at Andre, who seemed to be emerging from an ocean of text.
Exhaustion was clearly etched on Andre’s face.
"Not long. Just a few days, I think," Andre replied after a moment’s thought.
Red-haired Klein sighed internally at Andre’s answer.
’Why wasn’t a man with Andre’s willpower his disciple?’
’If he had found Andre earlier, the young man would probably be on the verge of becoming a Morning Star Wizard by now.’
"Alright, get ready. It’s time to set off."
Red-haired Klein took a deep breath to compose himself before speaking to Andre.
"Now?" Andre raised an eyebrow.
"The journey from this world to the Cosmic Sea World will take two years of travel through the Star Realm."
"And that’s with the Morning Sky continuously opening spatial passages."
"If you were to travel at a normal pace through the Star Realm, it would take you over twenty years to reach the Cosmic Sea World. Wasting twenty years on travel is far too inefficient," Red-haired Klein explained.
Andre’s mouth twitched. ’What’s the difference between that explanation and no explanation at all?’
’Back then, it took a jump from the Main Institute to reach this World Group, and then another six years of travel to get to this specific world.’
’But now, just the normal Star Realm voyage from here to the Cosmic Sea World takes twenty years? Don’t tell me the Cosmic Sea is in an entirely different World Group...’
