Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 170: Water of Life
Chapter 170: Chapter 170: Water of Life
He ate the Magic Plants to test if they were variants of the ones he had seen before.
Besides, these Magic Plants were of a very low level.
Even if they were poisonous, they couldn’t harm him. A single circulation of Chaos Magic Power through his body would assimilate any toxins.
With the Chaos Magic Power in his body, as long as the poison wasn’t from a Level 2 Magic Plant or higher, he would be fine no matter how much he consumed.
Even if he were poisoned, as long as the toxin wasn’t instantly fatal...
...he could use the terrifying assimilative properties of his Chaos Magic Power to make the toxins a part of it.
Karina, Rote, and Jessica watched Andre and opened their mouths to speak, but ultimately said nothing.
Andre was in work mode, which was the only reason he would snap at them.
Seeing that the three remained silent, Andre resumed his analysis of the Magic Plants, pacing back and forth between the large Magic Potion Tools.
Every now and then, he would place an analyzed Demon Model into another apparatus for further analysis.
Meanwhile, he never stopped chewing on the Magic Plants.
In fact, he could analyze the medicinal effects and toxicity of the Magic Plants with his own body far faster than the equipment specially designed for the task.
Soon, Andre had written a growing pile of notes and stacked them in a corner.
As time went on, the notes piled up into a small mountain.
It stood six meters high with an eight-meter diameter; he had used up basically all the notebooks he brought from the academy.
By now, half a year had passed since they first set foot on the Magic Plant Island.
During that half year, Rote, Jesse, and Karina had each made a trip back to the Expedition Base.
When they returned from the Expedition Base and saw the scene before them, they despaired.
Half a year had passed, and Andre still hadn’t finished analyzing the properties of the Magic Plants.
And this was with Andre being a Master Alchemist; any other Alchemist probably wouldn’t be finished even by the time the Second Expeditionary Corps arrived.
"Finally, the analysis is done."
After another seven days, Andre stretched his stiff limbs and let out a long breath.
In the past six months, besides finishing his analysis of the Magic Plants, he had also managed to completely solidify the final, unstable portion of his Ladder of Truth.
Now, he could step into the Realm of a Level 2 Wizard at any moment.
As Andre exhaled, his body began to glow with a sickly green light—an unnerving, alarming shade of green.
"Are you alright?"
Karina had been about to tell Andre what Piedra and Sander were up to at the Expedition Base.
But when the green light erupted from Andre’s body, Karina froze. She instantly retreated a hundred meters, watching him with extreme caution.
"This is good stuff!"
Andre said with a smile, looking at the glow on his body.
"Good stuff? Are you sure?"
Jessica and Rote had flown into the sky. She hid behind Rote, peeking her head out to address Andre.
"This is the Power of Life I spent six months extracting from these Magic Plants."
After he spoke, Andre took a deep breath, forcing all the green light on his body to converge on his right index finger, where it formed a single droplet.
Andre carefully placed this drop of the Water of Life into a test tube and put it away.
At the same time, Andre summoned the Ten Thousand Laws Wheel, instantly applying hundreds of layers of Sealing Spells to the test tube. Only after confirming that the life force within would not fade over time did he take it in hand to examine it closely.
Now that the Power of Life was so highly concentrated, this drop of Water of Life looked less like a liquid and more like a gemstone.
"The Water of Life, condensed from the Power of Life... that’s truly precious stuff,"
Rote watched the test tube in Andre’s hand, a flicker of greed igniting in his eyes before quickly vanishing.
He lacked Andre’s skill to make full use of the Water of Life, and he had no confidence he could snatch it away from him either.
’When Andre uses this drop of Water of Life to make Potions, I can buy some from him.’
Rote suppressed his greed and started pondering how to obtain the Potions that Andre would make with the Water of Life.
"Alright, time to get to work."
Andre said, looking at Rote, Jessica, and Karina, who had landed in front of him.
"What work?" Karina blinked.
Andre looked at Karina, completely speechless.
"With a brain like yours, how did you ever manage to be a broker at the academy? How come none of your clients beat you to death?"
Andre frowned in utter exasperation.
"You mean you want us to help you harvest every Magic Plant on this entire island?"
Rote understood Andre’s meaning. After he spoke, Andre sighed and shot a sideways glance at Karina.
Karina’s face instantly turned bright red.
"Release your servants and start harvesting the Magic Plants. Otherwise, with just the four of us, who knows how long it’ll take."
"And another thing. Wipe that unhappy look off your face right now."
"Don’t you forget the price for this island was one-third of my Potions. But the condition is that they must be made with the Magic Plants from this island."
"If you don’t help me harvest, just guess when you’ll ever get your hands on those Potions!"
Andre said, looking at the very reluctant Jessica.
He sighed to himself. ’Four years. Four years in this Otherworld, and she still has the temper of a princess.’
’If her brother Rote wasn’t always there to cover for her, she would’ve been tricked and killed long ago.’
Andre returned all his Magic Potion Tools to his Secret Realm, then started to organize his mountain of notes.
Rote sighed, then began to release his servitor race to help Andre harvest the Magic Plants. Jessica followed suit, releasing her own servants to join the effort.
After being put on the spot by Andre like that, Karina didn’t feel like helping him.
But when she glanced at the Crocodile Leather Armor she was wearing, Karina sighed helplessly and began to release her Black Goblins to work for Andre.
Andre also released the Frenzied Orcs from the Dawn, letting the Frenzied Beastman King lead them to help him harvest the Magic Plants.
The harvesting took three months. In that time, the island was picked clean. Not a single Magic Plant was left, with only sparse patches of grass remaining as a reminder that life had once existed on the island.
