Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 158: How to Seize the Greatest Benefits
Chapter 158: Chapter 158: How to Seize the Greatest Benefits
"So you’re saying this world devoured the Divine Remains, but it still wasn’t enough?"
Rote frowned, looking at Andre and the others.
"That’s right. But the matter of the world’s advancement isn’t something we can worry about. What we need to do now is figure out how to conquer this world and seize the greatest benefits before the Second Expeditionary Corps arrives."
Sander got to the heart of the matter. Whether the world advanced or not had nothing to do with them.
To them, the most important things were the items left behind by this Divine Spirit.
Those were the things they should really be looking for.
"Generally speaking, after a Divine Spirit dies, their body is also extremely valuable."
"Besides serving as a natural world coordinate, it’s also because a Divine Spirit’s body contains a large amount of Power of Faith. The Power of Faith can be extracted to make Potions that increase a Wizard’s speed of sensing Truth."
"Therefore, the remains of Divine Spirits who die in battle don’t usually get left behind. They’re typically taken by their opponents."
"But this Divine Spirit’s remains ended up in this world, which means its possessions are still on its body."
"What we need to do now is find the location of these remains."
A flame of greed flickered in Sander’s eyes.
"There are only six of us. Even with our servants, we only have the combat power equivalent to twelve Official Wizards. I am a Level 2 Wizard."
"That sounds good, but it’s impossible for us to conquer this world with our current strength. The Multi-Body Race in this world has dozens of powerhouses at the Level 3 Wizard Level."
"Twelve Level 1 Wizards and one Level 2 Wizard fighting dozens of Level 3 Wizards is undoubtedly like throwing an egg against a stone."
"As the first wave of the Expeditionary Corps, we’re just here to gather intelligence and establish a territory to serve as a base."
"We’ve already finished gathering intelligence. We also have a base, and it’s under construction."
"The things we were supposed to do are all done. Next, naturally, we do things for ourselves."
At this moment, Piedra, an old veteran who had participated in two expeditions, began to teach the younger members like Rote and Karina what was most important for them.
"Otherwise, when the subsequent Expeditionary Corps arrives, we’ll have to share this special opportunity with them."
"When few people are splitting it, you can call it an opportunity. When many people are splitting it, it’s no longer an opportunity. It’s just water, just air."
Sander’s expression began to turn strange.
"So many years have passed. Is it even possible to find it?"
Jessica had no hope at all of finding the treasures left behind by the Divine Spirit.
"Success depends on human effort. We can’t conquer this world in a single step—unless it’s the Red Sun Great Wizard or the Truth Great Wizard, but that would provoke a backlash from the world’s consciousness."
"But if we take it one step at a time, nailing down the foundation bit by bit, it will be easier and won’t provoke a backlash from the world’s consciousness."
At this moment, a flush appeared on Piedra’s face—the color of excitement.
"But we face a difficult problem: the location where the Divine Remains landed in this world."
"According to our previous explorations, although this world has many races different from other worlds,"
"the most likely place for the Divine Remains to have landed is in the region where the Duomu, Multi-Heart, and Multi-Brain clans of the Multi-Body Race reside."
"If the Divine Remains really did land there, then those guys have definitely protected them."
"If we want to get the Divine Treasure, we must first conquer these few nations."
"But each of these nations has powerhouses equivalent to the Level 3 Wizard Level. That makes things difficult."
"Unless we use a Star Realm Battleship. But once we do, and use War Witchcraft Artifacts, the power of the Witchcraft will reach the Morning Star Level."
"At that point, the world’s consciousness will definitely be awakened and will then suppress us."
"We can’t beat them to begin with, and then we’d be suppressed on top of that. This is an unsolvable problem for us."
At this moment, Andre suddenly thought of something and began to speak.
After Andre had spoken, the looks of excitement on everyone’s faces instantly vanished.
Yes, if the Divine Remains were really being protected by the Multi-Body Race, they would have to face this problem.
Those dozens of beings equivalent to Level 3 Wizards were an unavoidable obstacle.
"There’s another problem. What if the remains landed in the sea?"
"There has probably already appeared a Morning Star Level Magical Beast in the sea. In fact, this Magical Beast might be even stronger than a typical Morning Star Magical Beast, because it feeds on a Divine Spirit."
"The other races, whether it’s the Double-winged Giant Eagle you mentioned or the Multi-Body Race I scouted, have only obtained scraps of the Divine Remains. We have to consider this as well."
Seeing everyone had gone silent, Antre pondered for a moment before speaking again.
"So, you’re saying we still have to attack the Multi-Body Race?"
Karina bit her lip and then spoke.
"I’m afraid so. But I just don’t know if they can withstand it."
At that moment, Andre took out two Potions from his Storage Ring. The Potions emitted a faint gray glow.
"This is...?" Karina frowned as she looked at the two Potions. She had a strange sense of familiarity with them.
"Remember the black blood clots you coughed up when I saved you after you were cursed by the Curse Divine Technique?"
"This is a Curse Potion made from those black blood vessels, containing a portion of the residual Divine Art power."
"I want to see if the Multi-Body Race of this Century Realm can withstand the reaction of two different Divine Powers clashing inside their bodies."
When Andre said this, everyone felt goosebumps rise on their skin.
They hadn’t expected Andre to want to use such a method to attack the Multi-Body Race.
But upon further thought, they understood Andre’s reasoning.
Andre was an Alchemist, and a Master Alchemist at that. Naturally, he would choose the method he was best at to deal with the Multi-Body Race blocking their path.
Besides, they had come on this expedition with the intention of bringing the entire world under their control.
Using Potions to control the Multi-Body Race was just another means to an end.
"But with just these two Potions, how large of an area can you cover?"
Rote nodded, very much in agreement with Andre’s method of using Potions, but then he shook his head.
In his opinion, Andre was a Master Alchemist, and the poisons he concocted were extremely potent, but they could still be diluted.
If diluted, their toxicity would be greatly reduced.
Under these circumstances, it would be impossible to control the Multi-Body Race with Potions.
"If one type of Potion isn’t enough, we can use multiple types to achieve the effect."
Andre said, looking at Rote.
