Wizard: Grinding to Lord of Truth
Chapter 152: The Expedition Officially Begins
Chapter 152: Chapter 152: The Expedition Officially Begins
A month later, Andre and the others passed through the Expedition Array and arrived on the flagship of the Expeditionary Corps to draw lots for the worlds they would invade.
"What century is this? Are they seriously still drawing lots?"
Someone beside Andre complained.
"What’s the alternative? If they let us choose, everyone would just pick the best worlds!"
The moment he said that, someone shot back with a retort. Hearing this, the complainer sullenly shut his mouth.
Andre heard the argument and shook his head in resignation. He then stepped forward, approaching a metal box.
A slip of paper shot out of the box, and Andre reached out to catch it. On it was a string of numbers.
These numbers were the world coordinates for his expedition.
After receiving his world coordinates, Andre moved to the side. The person behind him then received their coordinates, just as Andre had.
Soon, the last Wizard had received their world coordinates. Then, everyone returned to their own Star Realm Battleships via the Expedition Array.
"Input the world coordinates you’re holding. After that, it’s all up to luck. Good luck."
Andre had just returned to the Morning Sky when Cohen’s voice echoed in everyone’s ears via the Expedition Array.
"Alright, let’s move out!" Andre handed the paper to Wei Xing, telling her to change course and head for the coordinates.
As the Morning Sky changed course, the vast Expedition Array began to break apart.
One by one, the Star Realm Battleships transformed into countless specks of light, flying toward the worlds they were meant to conquer.
"Destination set. Estimated travel time: 6 years."
After the Morning Sky detached from the Expedition Array, Wei Xing entered the world coordinates into the Witch Brain Core.
’Six years isn’t that long.’ Andre frowned for a moment, then went back to reading his book.
But soon, his peace was disturbed.
"Andre, is that you?" A communication request arrived from another Star Realm Battleship.
Andre glanced at the request and accepted the call.
The moment the call connected, Karina’s voice came through.
"What world coordinates did you get?"
Andre lowered his head, continuing to look at the book in his hands.
"Zuoheng 10.79, Xiakan 12.87."
Karina stated her world coordinates. Hearing them, Andre nodded.
"Same as yours. I have the same coordinates."
"Looks like we’ll be working together this time."
When Karina heard that Andre’s world coordinates were the same as hers, a hint of excitement entered her voice.
"I guess so. Let’s hope we get a good world. It would be a disaster if we ran into a Level 1 World."
"Level 1 Worlds aren’t even worth conquering. If we’re unlucky, we might have to go all the way back for new coordinates."
Andre sighed. During these expeditions, the probability of Wizards encountering a Level 1 World was not low.
Many Wizards had run into Level 1 Worlds during their expeditions.
It wasn’t a matter of bad luck; Level 1 Worlds were simply the most common type of world in the Endless Star Realm.
For the Wizards, however, this was not good news.
Because Level 1 Worlds rarely contained any Magic Power, it was very difficult for a Wizard to leave once they entered. The only way out was to use a Star Realm Battleship to make the entire world collapse.
But even that, while a way to escape, came with its own problem: the collapsing world could easily bury the Wizard along with it.
"Let’s just hope we get a decent world."
Karina sighed after hearing Andre’s words.
"How many troops did you bring?"
Andre closed his book and downed a Nutritional Potion.
"I brought a tribe. A goblin tribe."
"A goblin tribe? What kind?"
Andre’s interest was piqued when he heard Karina had brought goblins.
Goblins were a very famous race in the Endless Star Realm.
Goblins were classified by skin color, and each type had different specializations. For example, Gray Goblins were exceptionally skilled at forging.
Black Goblins and White Goblins, on the other hand, were more adept at Witchcraft and Potions.
"I brought Black Goblins. A little over 300 of them."
"You brought out a force of only 300?"
Andre’s eyes widened when he heard Karina.
"How many did you bring?" Karina asked, sensing something was wrong.
"I brought a little over 2,000, I’d say."
Andre said casually.
"Over two thousand!" Hearing the number, Karina’s eyes flew wide open and she cried out in shock.
"What else? We’re on an expedition. No one knows what kind of enemies we’ll face, so naturally, the more Power you have on hand, the better."
Andre’s words left Karina speechless. He was right; they were on an expedition, so it was only natural to bring all the forces one could muster.
"Among your Black Goblin tribe, how many have combat power at the Official Wizard Level?"
Andre pressed on, only to be met with a long silence from Karina.
"Don’t tell me... you’re the only Official Wizard?!"
From Karina’s silence, Andre understood the true state of her forces.
"I used to be just a broker at the academy. I acquired this Black Goblin tribe myself while adventuring in other worlds."
Karina sighed as she explained to Andre.
Hearing this, Andre shook his head in resignation.
Everyone has their own opportunities, but Karina’s foundation was simply too thin.
Three hundred Black Goblins wouldn’t even be enough to withstand a single charge from a Frenzy Beastman Tribe.
"How many do you have?" Karina asked, running a hand through her hair in frustration.
"Four."
"Four!" Karina exclaimed in shock.
"Also, I have a Dragon Beast that can break through to the Official Wizard Level at any time!"
"So that’s six in total. Six Level 1 Wizards attacking a single world... that’s still going to be difficult, unless we run into a Level 2 World or one of the weaker Level 3 Worlds."
Karina frowned aboard her Star Realm Battleship.
"We can take our time. The academy didn’t give us a deadline for conquering our assigned world."
"Since there’s no time limit, we can just use a strategy of gradual encroachment and slowly take over the target world."
Andre said this nonchalantly, but his words left Karina speechless.
For Andre, there was no time pressure on this expedition.
But that sentiment depended entirely on who you were.
For her, time was a luxury she didn’t have. She only had a little over 300 Black Goblins, whose strength was equivalent to High Level Wizard Apprentices. A force like that was completely insignificant in a Level 3 World.
Once her Black Goblins were all wiped out, her first expedition would be declared a failure.
