Chapter 124: Chapter 124: The Predecessor Falls, The Successor Feasts
While Atar, the Tower Master of the Tower of Star Erosion, was troubled by the murder of his subordinates, Andre returned to the center of the Secret Realm.
There was one thing he could never understand: why did his ancestor, Angelson, spend a vast amount of resources to set up a dual Secret Realm?
Moreover, he had even used a Constant Teleportation Array to allow travel between the two Secret Realms.
He could never figure it out.
As he collected all the treasures, Andre had been mulling over this very question.
After all, among all the treasures in the Secret Realm, the set of Constant Teleportation Arrays was one of the most valuable.
Aside from the Destiny Flower and the Bright Sky Stone, which were the most precious treasures, the next most valuable things were the two Constant Teleportation Arrays.
Furthermore, it seemed these two Constant Teleportation Arrays weren’t integrated into the Secret Realm itself, but had been set up independently.
For this exact reason, their value was significantly higher.
They could be dismantled and reused.
As such, the Teleportation Arrays could easily vie for a spot among the top ten most valuable treasures.
’It really is quite strange.’
Andre tilted his head, pondering Angelson’s reasoning for setting up the two Teleportation Arrays.
But even when he drew upon his Bloodline inheritance, he found no records of it.
Clearly, Angelson had hidden this information himself.
But this only made Andre more curious.
’What could possibly be so important that one of the world’s most powerful experts would go to such lengths to hide it?’
Andre racked his brain, pacing endlessly through the Secret Realm, but he still couldn’t come up with an answer.
After what felt like an eternity, Andre found himself back beside the Teleportation Array.
He scrutinized the array before him, his brow furrowed in concentration.
’I’ve never systematically studied this field of knowledge. I really can’t see what the issue with these two Teleportation Arrays is.’
Andre scratched his head and finally decided to use the only method available to him—a true last resort—to decipher the information hidden within the two Teleportation Arrays.
He would use the Chaos Magic Power converted by his Chaos Meditation Technique.
A faint gray mist appeared in Andre’s hand. He then placed his hand on the Teleportation Array, which immediately erupted in a blinding flash of light.
Instantly, all the Divine Arrays and Divine Patterns throughout the Secret Realm began to activate.
’What’s going on? What’s happening?’
Andre straightened up, his expression tensing as he stared at the newly revealed Divine Arrays and Divine Patterns.
’I only wanted to use my Chaos Magic Power to understand the internal structure of the two Constant Teleportation Arrays. How could that have activated all these Divine Arrays and Divine Patterns?’
Andre was baffled, but he could sense one thing: the concentration of Magic Power throughout the Secret Realm was dropping rapidly.
Soon, the concentration of Magic Power in this Secret Realm had fallen to the same level as that in the Black and White Forest Secret Realm.
Then, with a soft POP, a diamond-shaped crystal slowly descended from high above the Secret Realm.
’What is this?’ Andre’s eyes widened as he stared at the diamond-shaped crystal.
The moment the diamond-shaped crystal appeared before him, his Bloodline inheritance instantly informed him of its origin.
’How could something like this possibly exist in the outside world?’
Andre stared at the crystal before him, his face a mask of confusion.
This was a Chaos Crystal—the most precious of all the treasures Angelson had left behind.
With this Chaos Crystal, anyone’s Power could advance by leaps and bounds. In fact, Angelson himself had relied on this very crystal to advance from the Morning Star to the Moonlight level in just a few thousand years.
’Is this for real? Just a few thousand years was enough for an expert at the Morning Star Grand Wizard Level to break through and become a Moonlight Great Mage?’
Staring at the Chaos Crystal, the confusion on Andre’s face only deepened.
According to the information from his Bloodline inheritance, Angelson should have used the Chaos Crystal immediately after obtaining it.
And yet, he had left it behind. ’But why?’
Andre scratched his head, frantically searching his Bloodline inheritance for any relevant information.
But no matter how hard he searched, he found nothing!
’Now that’s strange...’
Andre slowly walked toward the Chaos Crystal and reached out to grasp it. The instant his hand touched it, his Bloodline began to boil.
Then, a much vaster stream of the Bloodline inheritance began to pour into Andre’s mind.
It turned out that Angelson had accidentally obtained this crystal in the Bottomless Abyss. After acquiring it, he brought it to the Senbai World.
He came partly to recuperate from his injuries, and partly to find a way to refine the Chaos Crystal and make its Power his own.
However, only a few thousand years after he arrived in the Senbai World, a Wizard Influence launched an expedition against the White Sea World Group, where Senbai World was located. In the end, Angelson perished, his body and soul obliterated.
The Chaos Crystal survived because when Angelson sensed a Wizard Influence beginning its expedition, he hid it in the Secret Realm and set up a contingency plan for his resurrection.
But he never expected his opponents to be three Red Sun Great Wizards. As a result, all of his contingency plans were personally destroyed by them.
Andre closed his eyes, processing the massive influx of information from his Bloodline inheritance. He now understood the origin of the Chaos Crystal, and also why Angelson hadn’t simply refined it directly.
That would have been the most wasteful method. Angelson discovered that by absorbing the crystal’s Power at regular intervals, his struggles in comprehending the Truth could be resolved through the evolution of that very Power.
That was why Angelson had kept the crystal instead of using it in the great war, naming it "Chaos."
In Demon lore, Chaos represents the origin of all things, which is why Demons sometimes refer to themselves as Chaos Demons.
And since the crystal was found in the Bottomless Abyss, Angelson had named it Chaos.
’Can the Bottomless Abyss produce Chaos Crystals?’
Andre held the Chaos Crystal in his hand, a sharp glint flashing in his eyes.
He was reminded of the legends of the Bottomless Abyss. According to the legends, at its very bottom—a place few had ever reached—were roiling tides formed from every kind of Element, where countless Elements collided.
It was because of this place’s existence that the Bottomless Abyss could periodically spawn new planes and worlds, incorporating them into its domain.
This was also why the Abyss was called "Bottomless."
’In that case, it’s entirely possible for the Bottomless Abyss to produce Chaos Crystals.’
