Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor
Chapter 72 - 70: Earth Dragon and Reward
Chapter 72: Chapter 70: Earth Dragon and Reward
West District of Redwood City.
The Golden Snow Rabbit Restaurant.
Roy chose a spot by a window overlooking the street, calmly waiting for his lunch.
Over the past week, he had eaten his way through all the well-known restaurants in the West District.
Among them, the Golden Snow Rabbit Restaurant had left a particularly good impression on him.
He especially liked their signature dishes: roasted snow rabbit legs and pan-fried rabbit heads!
Although it was one of the most famous restaurants in the West District, there weren’t many customers at the moment.
Including Roy, there were only five tables of guests.
After news of the four Dukes’ rebellion spread, many customers had started to cut back on their spending.
Besides that, there was another reason for the sharp decline in customers: prices were getting more and more expensive.
Snow rabbits were already much more expensive than regular rabbits.
Because of the rebellion, the price of snow rabbits had multiplied several times over.
Previously, a lunch here for Roy would have cost seven or eight Silver Coins at most.
Now, it cost at least twenty Silver Coins.
Time passed bit by bit.
Before long, a waiter brought over the lunch he had ordered.
Without any hesitation, Roy immediately began to dig in.
Just as he was contentedly enjoying the roasted snow rabbit legs and pan-fried rabbit heads before him, the conversation of a nearby table caught his attention.
The table was five or six meters away, and their voices weren’t particularly loud.
But the content of their conversation still reached his ears clearly.
As his strength steadily increased, his physical attributes and senses grew sharper.
"How could there be an Earth Dragon in a place like Gel County? It’s probably just another made-up story from those bored traveling poets."
"It’s not made-up, it’s real!"
"How do you know it’s real? Have you seen the Earth Dragon yourself?"
"I haven’t, but many people in Gel County have seen it with their own eyes. Count Frost Bear has already personally led a party to capture the Earth Dragon."
"Not only that, but I also heard that the other nobles in Gel County have taken a strong interest in the Earth Dragon and are thinking of joining forces to capture it."
...
After hearing the table’s conversation, the idea of capturing the Earth Dragon as a mount involuntarily popped into Roy’s mind.
Like the Two-legged Flying Dragons ridden by Flying Dragon Knights, Earth Dragons are a typical Sub-dragon Species.
Although Earth Dragons aren’t true Giant Dragons and can’t fly, they are still excellent land mounts.
’Should I make a trip to Gel County?’
Roy began to consider it seriously.
After less than ten seconds of thought, he dismissed the idea of going to Gel County.
Or rather, he dismissed the idea of going to Gel County immediately.
In another three days, he would be able to advance to Silver Great Knight.
Before then, he didn’t plan to waste time on other matters.
After eating and drinking his fill, Roy paid his bill, left the Golden Snow Rabbit Restaurant, and made his way back to the "Red Salmon and Cherry Pie" tavern at an unhurried pace.
Just as he always did, he climbed back in through the window of his third-floor tavern room and sat down on the living room sofa to rest.
After resting for a moment, just as he was preparing to enter Chaos Square to begin his afternoon Cultivation, a knock sounded at the door.
KNOCK KNOCK KNOCK!
"Who is it?"
Roy asked.
"It’s me, Catherine!"
Catherine’s voice came from outside the door.
’What is she doing here?’
Roy got up, went to the door, and opened it.
As the door opened, Catherine came into view, dressed in pale gold Light Armor with a Cross Sword at her waist and a white mask in her hand.
He sized Catherine up for a moment before speaking. "What do you want?"
"Can we talk inside?"
Catherine asked.
Roy nodded and stepped aside to let her in.
Without any hesitation, Catherine entered the room and sat down on the sofa.
Roy closed the door and sat down opposite her.
Before he could speak, Catherine’s voice rang out.
"Count Rock Lion has returned."
"And?"
"He came back specifically for the Dark Night Knight and is preparing to lead a party to Ice Wolf Castle tomorrow."
After Catherine finished speaking, Roy’s mind raced.
Then, he looked at Catherine with a serious expression and asked, "If I kill Count Rock Lion and the other male heirs, are you confident you can take control of the Beluns Clan’s Clan Knights and troops?"
"You want me to inherit the title?"
Catherine said, frowning.
"No, the point isn’t inheriting the title. It’s about taking control of the Clan Knights and troops."
"Having the title doesn’t mean you can command the Clan Knights and troops. Those are two different things."
Roy corrected Catherine.
Catherine fell silent.
After a few seconds, she finally replied, "On my own, I’m not completely confident. Not unless you’re willing to provide more help."
Although she was a Peak Knight, she knew that with her strength alone, even if Count Rock Lion and the other male heirs were all dead, the Clan Knights and family troops would not necessarily be willing to pledge their allegiance to her.
"I can provide more help, but I won’t do it for free."
Roy continued.
"What do you want in return?"
Catherine asked immediately.
"The Inheritance Map for the Rock Lion Breathing Technique."
"And for the Beluns Clan to become an ally of the Wesley Clan."
Roy said unhurriedly.
It wouldn’t be difficult for him to wipe out every last Knight of the Beluns Clan.
However, doing so would be a bit of a waste.
If those Clan Knights were willing to pledge their allegiance to Catherine, there was no harm in sparing their lives.
"Are you sure that’s all you want in return?"
Catherine looked at Roy, a little disappointed.
"What else?"
"Of course, if you think I’m asking for too little, you’re welcome to give me more. For example..."
"I wouldn’t mind if you gave all of the Belens’ wealth and territory to the Wesley Clan."
Roy said with a smile.
Although Catherine hadn’t said it, he had a vague idea of what was on her mind and what she was really thinking.
However, he didn’t plan on spelling it out.
Some things were less interesting once they were said aloud.
Things were fine just the way they were.
Hearing his words, Catherine took a deep breath, shot him a look, and said quickly, "There’s no need for that. The Inheritance Map for the Rock Lion Breathing Technique and the alliance are enough..."
She paused here, then continued, "When do you plan to make your move tonight?"
Roy shook his head.
"Tonight?"
"No need to wait for tonight. I just finished lunch. I can head over to Rock Lion Castle now for a little after-meal exercise."
Roy said unhurriedly.
He hadn’t expected Count Rock Lion to return with his men so soon, but since the Count was back, there was no need to drag things out any longer.
Besides, there were a few things he wanted to ask Count Rock Lion.
"Don’t you need to prepare?"
Catherine asked, frowning.
"It’s just killing one Black Iron Great Knight and a few Official Knights. There’s no need for any preparation."
Roy looked at Catherine, his expression perfectly calm.
