Chapter 70: Chapter 68: Tony’s Choice

Instead of returning to his third-floor guest room, Roy climbed through the window into Sandru’s office.

Seeing him climb into the office through the window wearing a mask, Sandru gave him a strange look and asked, "Is this some kind of special hobby of yours?"

"Of course not!"

"Tony has come to the tavern with a troop of horsemen. If I’m not mistaken, he’s here to ask you about the whereabouts of the Dark Night Knight, or to have you act as a middleman to contact him."

Roy replied quickly, without any hesitation.

’Aside from looking for the Dark Night Knight, I can’t think of any other reason for Tony to be here right now.’

"This isn’t some tavern where Bounty Hunters gather. Why would he come to me looking for the Dark Night Knight?"

Sandru asked with a frown.

"That’s something you’ll have to ask him yourself."

"After you meet with him, send someone to let me know. I’ll be waiting for your news in my room."

With that, without waiting for Sandru’s reply, Roy climbed back out the window, left Sandru’s office, and returned to his guest room on the third floor.

Not long after he left, a knock sounded on the door.

"Come in."

Sandru answered immediately upon hearing the knock.

The next moment, the door opened and Blatt, the bartender, walked in. He spoke quickly, "Baron Ice Wolf is at the tavern. He wants to meet with you, Teacher. Should I bring him up?"

"Bring him up."

Sandru said slowly.

"Yes, Teacher!"

Blatt gave Sandru a slight bow before turning and leaving the office.

A short while later, he brought Tony, who was clad in silver-white armor, to the office.

When Tony entered, Sandru immediately went to him and said politely, "Greetings, Lord Baron Ice Wolf."

Although he was a Black Iron Great Knight, his public identity was merely that of a tavern owner—an unquestionable commoner.

"Mr. Sandru, you’re too kind."

Tony replied.

"Would you care for a drink, my lord Baron?"

Sandru continued after Tony sat down on the guest sofa.

"No, thank you. I’ve come this time because I’d like your help in finding the Dark Night Knight, Mr. Sandru."

"A friend of mine told me that you are very well-connected in Redwood City, Mr. Sandru, and that you’re also very well-informed."

"If you can get in touch with the Dark Night Knight, I would like to meet with him."

Tony didn’t waste any words, getting straight to the point.

After speaking, he took a money pouch from his coat and placed it on the coffee table.

Sandru did not reach for the pouch. He said slowly, "If I may ask, my lord Baron, for what reason do you seek the Dark Night Knight?"

"If it’s inconvenient, my lord Baron, then please pretend I didn’t ask."

Hearing his words, Tony fell silent.

After a few seconds, he continued, "Everyone out there now thinks the Wesley Clan has a close relationship with the Dark Night Knight. They believe that’s why he intervened to help the Wesley Clan last night."

"But in reality, the Wesley Clan is not familiar with the Dark Night Knight at all."

"I also want to find out why he chose to help the Wesley Clan, and whether the Bounty Hunters who attacked Ice Wolf Castle last night were truly hired by the Knight Clan and the Sheen Clan."

’That might be what he says, but I’m certain it’s not the whole reason Tony wants to meet the Dark Night Knight.’

’Is he trying to use this act of searching for the Dark Night Knight to send a message to the public that the Wesley Clan isn’t familiar with him?’

’Is he worried that Count Rock Lion will take his anger out on the Wesley Clan?’

’Doesn’t he know the four Dukes have already rebelled?!’

’No!’

’I can’t let him send the message that the Wesley Clan and the Dark Night Knight aren’t familiar with each other!’

’Otherwise, he’ll ruin Roy’s plan.’

Roy hadn’t told him any of this.

However, even without Roy saying it, Sandru could guess.

’If I couldn’t even figure this much out, I’d be pretty pathetic.’

Sandru’s mind raced.

Soon, he made a decision.

"I can help you contact the Dark Night Knight, my lord Baron."

"However, before that, I want to know: who else have you asked to look for the Dark Night Knight, my lord Baron?"

Sandru asked quickly.

Tony looked at Sandru, puzzled, unable to understand why Sandru would ask such a thing.

Although he found it strange, he answered nonetheless.

"For now, I’ve only asked you, Mr. Sandru."

Tony replied.

’Good, you haven’t gone to anyone else!’

Sandru breathed a sigh of relief and continued, "If you would wait here for a moment, my lord Baron, I will go contact the Dark Night Knight right now."

’The Dark Night Knight is here in the tavern?’

Tony stared at Sandru, a look of surprise on his face.

"Alright. I’ll have to trouble you then, Mr. Sandru."

Tony said slowly.

"You’re too kind, my lord Baron."

Under Tony’s watchful gaze, Sandru stood up, left the office, and went to the outside of the guest room where Roy was staying.

Without any hesitation, he immediately raised his right hand, knocked on the door, and said quickly, "It’s me."

"Come in."

Roy’s voice came from inside the room.

Sandru immediately pushed the door open and walked in.

Seeing Roy sitting on the sofa, he went and sat down in front of him. "You guessed right," he said to Roy, "Tony is indeed here for the Dark Night Knight..."

Sandru didn’t waste any time, recounting everything Tony had said, word for word.

After listening to his account, Roy also frowned.

He came to the same conclusion as Sandru, agreeing that Tony was trying to use his search for the Dark Night Knight as a way to publicly prove the Wesley Clan was not familiar with him.

It wasn’t strange that Tony would make such a choice.

After all, Tony hadn’t yet received news of the four Dukes’ rebellion, so he had no idea how chaotic the situation was about to become.

After a moment of thought, Roy quickly made a decision.

"Go back and tell him I’ll be there in a moment."

Roy said to Sandru.

"Alright!"

Sandru knew Roy would get into his Dark Night Knight disguise before going down to meet Tony, so he turned and left the guest room.

Once Sandru was gone, Roy wasted no time, immediately retrieving the Dark Night Knight’s armor, Sword, and mask from Chaos Square.

It only took him a few short minutes to get dressed and transform into the Dark Night Knight.

Just as he was about to head to Sandru’s office, he suddenly remembered something. He took out a black helmet from Chaos Square that matched the armor, one similar to a medieval close helm.

’Tony knows me better than others.’

’Just wearing a mask isn’t safe enough.’

’Tonight is different from last night.’

Last night, he didn’t need to speak with Tony face-to-face, and the dim light of the night made a mask sufficient.

Taking off the mask, Roy put on the black helmet, which enveloped his head completely, concealing his hair, ears, and neck.

He usually didn’t like wearing a helmet.

For one, it was stuffy and hot, and for another, the helmet obstructed his vision.

With the helmet on, he wasted no more time and left the room.

Soon, he arrived at Sandru’s office and saw Tony sitting on the sofa.

Seeing him enter, Tony quickly rose to his feet.

Although he wasn’t wearing his iconic red-striped mask, the armor and Sword he wore were enough to prove he was the Dark Night Knight.

Having stood up, Tony quickly came before him. Before he could speak, Tony bowed and said with a serious expression, "Tony Wesley. It is an honor to meet you, Lord Dark Night Knight!"
