Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor
Chapter 204 Gold vs. Gold, a Despairing Gap
Chapter 204: Chapter 138: Gold vs. Gold, a Despairing Gap
The wager was on whether he would marry Selena, Monica, or perhaps even both.
Only three days had passed since he rose to fame.
But the curious public had still managed to dig up quite a bit of information.
For example, they learned that he had been brought to the Evil Spirit Cat Clan by Monica and her sister, and that they had first met outside the Lost Cave.
The first part wasn’t hard to uncover.
As for them first meeting outside the Lost Cave, that rumor had spread from within the Snow Mammoth Clan.
Robert and Gray hadn’t seen his true face at the time, and he didn’t have red hair back then.
When they learned he was the one Selena and her sister had brought back, they immediately recalled their encounter outside the Lost Cave and confirmed he was the man in the mask.
Then, as expected, the news leaked from the Snow Mammoth Clan.
Simultaneously, word that the Phoenix Knight’s inheritance had fallen into his hands also spread throughout all of Storm City.
It wasn’t that Selena and Monica had revealed the information; rather, the public had deduced it from the available intelligence.
The teams sent by the Molten Beast Knight and Gem Whale Knight had been completely wiped out.
And he, a Golden Great Knight, had happened to appear at the Lost Cave at the exact same time.
If he hadn’t intervened, it was impossible for an elite squad led by two Silver Great Knights to have been annihilated in the Lost Cave.
As for why he would intervene, the reason wasn’t difficult to guess.
Obviously, it was to contend for the Phoenix Knight’s inheritance.
Although there was no evidence that the Phoenix Knight’s inheritance had fallen into his hands, people had already accepted it as fact.
Roy had heard about these rumors, but he paid them no mind.
Even if everyone knew the Phoenix Knight’s inheritance was in his hands, no one would dare try to take it.
As for retaliation from the Molten Beast Knight and Gem Whale Knight...
If they had the guts to retaliate, they wouldn’t have let the Chimera Knight serve as the representative for the Six Great Clans.
Thanks to his superb skills as a Golden Great Knight, Roy returned to his guest room on the third floor without alerting anyone. He sat down on the sofa and began to consider when he should go see the Imperial Guardian, David Hammel.
After some brief consideration, he decided to visit him tomorrow at noon.
Having made his decision, he rose and left the guest room, intending to head to the second-floor dining hall for a meal.
Compared to the dining hall on the first floor, the one on the second was much smaller.
But dining on the second floor had one advantage: he wouldn’t run into guests visiting the manor.
Soon, Roy reached the second floor and ran into Selena and Monica in the hallway.
They were both dressed in gorgeous long gowns today—one a pale blue, the other a light red.
Though the colors differed, the gowns perfectly accentuated their graceful curves.
Selena’s light-red gown was particularly striking, resembling an evening dress with its deep V-neck and open back. It clung tightly to her body, revealing large swathes of her fair skin.
Upon seeing Roy, they didn’t hesitate to approach and greet him.
The three of them then headed to the dining hall together.
Once they were seated, the maids in the dining hall immediately began serving an array of exquisite, aromatic dishes.
After setting out the food, the maids departed without needing to be told.
Roy had never been fond of having a group of maids stand by and watch him eat.
He knew the maids were there to provide better service, but he still disliked the practice.
Once the maids were gone, Roy and the two sisters began to eat.
As usual, they made small talk while enjoying the delicacies before them.
"Are you confident you can defeat the Chimera Knight?"
Selena asked Roy, taking a sip from her glass of red wine.
Hearing her question, Roy replied with a smile, "It’s already over. I won."
What?
Selena and Monica stared at him, their faces etched with surprise.
"When did this happen?"
Selena immediately asked.
"A little over ten minutes ago."
Roy replied.
A little over ten minutes ago?
Selena and Monica grew even more confused.
"You went out just now?"
Monica asked.
Roy nodded.
"How did you defeat him?"
Monica pressed on without hesitation.
"Let’s not get into the specifics. The important thing is, I won."
"Later today, the Six Great Clans should announce the outcome of my match with the Chimera Knight and deliver the Breathing Technique Inheritance Map,"
Roy said calmly.
’It wouldn’t have hurt to tell Selena and Monica about the fight, but after some thought, he decided to spare the Chimera Knight some face.’
"Alright."
"So, when do you plan to see the Guardian?"
Selena asked in a soft voice.
"Tomorrow at noon."
Roy said slowly, taking a sip of his wine.
After lunch, he returned to his room on the third floor alone.
He rested for a moment in his room before entering Chaos Square to begin cultivating the Thunder Beast Breathing Technique.
The Thunder Beast Breathing Technique was just over ten thousand Skill Level points away from reaching the Tier Nine Limit.
At his current cultivation speed, he could definitely reach it before nightfall.
Not long after he began cultivating the Thunder Beast Breathing Technique, a shocking piece of news spread from Chimera Manor.
The Chimera Knight, true to his word, had publicly announced the outcome of his match with Roy.
