Chapter 179: Chapter 130: Blade of Rebellion, Armored Giant Ape

Otherwise, even with Breathing Techniques, the humans of this continent would lead very difficult lives.

After all, these creatures possess the strength of a Great Knight the moment they reach adulthood.

Meanwhile, for humans who cultivate Breathing Techniques, the odds of becoming a Great Knight are practically one in a thousand.

After severing the Armored Giant Ape’s right arm, Roy didn’t hesitate, continuing to swing his Fighting Qi: Blade of Rebellion.

Left leg, left arm, right leg!

The Armored Giant Ape couldn’t even launch an attack before its limbs were severed. It crashed to the ground with a loud BOOM.

After reducing the Armored Giant Ape to a limbless trunk, Roy didn’t immediately end its life. Instead, he began to inspect its limbs and torso.

It didn’t take him long to find an artificial mark on the back of the Armored Giant Ape’s neck—one that shouldn’t have been there.

To be precise, it was the insignia of the Phoenix Knight.

’So this creature really was domesticated,’ Roy thought. ’And the one who did it was the Phoenix Knight!’

Even after seeing the Phoenix Knight’s insignia, Roy still didn’t end the Armored Giant Ape’s life. Instead, with a calm expression, he began casting the Beast Taming Skill.

In just a few short seconds, he constructed and activated the Magic Model for the Beast Taming Skill within his Sea of Consciousness, successfully casting the spell.

The Beast Taming Skill was a Level Zero Spell that forcefully compelled a target creature to obey commands.

To achieve this, casting the spell establishes a Spiritual Connection with the target creature.

This level of Spiritual Connection wasn’t enough for the Caster to read the target’s memories in their entirety, but it did allow them to read its current thoughts and its most vivid memory fragments.

As the Beast Taming Skill took effect, Roy successfully established a Spiritual Connection with the Armored Giant Ape.

The next moment, he began to read the Armored Giant Ape’s current thoughts and its most vivid memories.

’Pain!’

’I failed to complete Master’s command! I’ve disappointed him!’

’This human before me is strong... as strong as Master!’

’Master is going to be disturbed!’

...

Even on the verge of Death, most of the thoughts now emerging from the Armored Giant Ape had nothing to do with its own demise, but with its master.

Roy paid little mind to what the Armored Giant Ape was currently thinking, focusing instead on its most vivid memories.

He saw the memory of the Phoenix Knight subduing the Armored Giant Ape and bringing it here to serve as a guard.

The memory of the ape wandering the tomb after the Phoenix Knight’s death, unwilling to leave.

The memory of it fighting and killing intruders one by one.

And the memory of having its limbs severed by Roy himself.

These memory fragments, similar to the fleeting visions from his Spiritual Warning, flashed rapidly through the Armored Giant Ape’s mind and quickly vanished.

Having obtained the information he wanted, Roy decisively ended the Beast Taming Skill and aimed the tip of his Fighting Qi: Blade of Rebellion at the Armored Giant Ape’s heart.

SHK!

With a gentle push of his right hand, the Fighting Qi: Blade of Rebellion pierced the Armored Giant Ape’s heart, ending its life.

He didn’t pull the blade out. Instead, he released his grip and dispelled the Fighting Qi: Blade of Rebellion.

Once that was done, he turned and walked back over to Selena and Monica.

"The Phoenix Knight did indeed set up his tomb here, and there’s more than one path leading to it."

"I’ll lead the way now. Do your best to keep up."

Roy said to Selena and Monica.

Though they didn’t know how he knew all this, Selena and Monica didn’t hesitate, replying in unison, "Alright!"

Hearing their reply, Roy immediately headed for the tunnel from which the Armored Giant Ape had emerged.

Selena and Monica both pushed themselves to their top speed, following closely behind Roy.

Roy hadn’t been able to read the Armored Giant Ape’s complete memories, but from the vivid fragments he did see, he had identified the correct tunnel to the Phoenix Knight’s tomb.

To accommodate Selena and Monica’s pace, Roy held back from his full speed, maintaining a velocity equivalent to that of a Bronze Great Knight.

Even so, Selena and Monica struggled to keep up.

Selena and Monica were both only Black Iron Great Knights.

They were on the verge of advancing to the rank of Bronze Great Knight, but they hadn’t broken through yet.

The only reason they could barely keep up with Roy’s pace was because their Evil Spirit Cat Breathing Skill was a Speed Type Breathing Technique.

As Roy’s group rushed toward the Phoenix Knight’s tomb, a fierce battle was unfolding in the massive cavern where it was located.

Two Silver Great Knights had joined forces to fight a giant black snake over a hundred meters long.

Behind them were more than a dozen heavily injured Bronze and Black Iron Great Knights.

Despite being outnumbered two to one, the giant black snake unleashed astonishing combat power, forcing the two Silver Great Knights into a constant retreat.

If nothing changed, it was only a matter of time before the giant black snake slaughtered every last Knight in the cavern.
