Wizard: Grinding from Knight to Primogenitor
Chapter 129 - 116: Respect the Old and Love the Young, Knight VS Wizard
Chapter 129: Chapter 116: Respect the Old and Love the Young, Knight VS Wizard
A Semi-Transparent Shield floated in mid-air, covering most of Thomas’s body.
When Thomas saw Roy standing his ground, calmly sizing up the Semi-Transparent Shield, his brow furrowed immediately.
’Something’s wrong!’
’How can this kid be so calm?’
’Does he know I’m a Wizard Apprentice?’
’Or has he seen other Apprentices use the Shield Technique before?’
One guess after another flashed through Thomas’s mind.
Just then, Roy spoke up. "What’s the name of this Level Zero Spell?"
The moment Thomas heard Roy say "Level Zero Spell," he knew Roy was aware that he was a Wizard Apprentice.
After a few seconds of silence, Thomas replied, "The Shield Technique!"
"To be precise, it’s the Shield Technique—a spell that leaves even a Silver Great Knight helpless!"
As he finished speaking, an expression of immense confidence appeared on Thomas’s face.
Roy’s appearance and composure had been unexpected, but he didn’t dwell on it.
In his mind, the moment he successfully cast the Shield Technique, his safety for the night was guaranteed.
Forget a newly promoted Black Iron Great Knight like Roy; even the Dark Night Knight wouldn’t be able to easily break through the Shield Technique’s Defense.
"Helpless even for a Silver Great Knight, you say?"
"In that case, let me—a newly promoted Black Iron Great Knight—give it a try."
The words had barely left his lips when Roy crossed the five or six meters between them in an instant, appearing before Thomas like a phantom.
The silvery-white Fighting Qi Destruction Sword carved a graceful arc through the air, then slammed down on the Semi-Transparent Shield before Thomas.
Thomas couldn’t see Roy’s movements clearly, but he wasn’t the least bit flustered.
As long as Roy wasn’t a Golden Great Knight, he had nothing to worry about.
The next second, however, the confident expression vanished from his face completely.
BOOM!
The Fighting Qi Destruction Sword, brimming with astonishing force and terrifying destructive power, smashed into the levitating Semi-Transparent Shield.
The shield that was said to render even a Silver Great Knight helpless shattered on impact right before Thomas’s eyes, letting out a deafening sound.
The collapse of the Semi-Transparent Shield produced a hurricane-like shockwave.
Before Thomas could even react, the shockwave sent him flying like a dead leaf. He flew back several meters before crashing heavily onto the grass.
Ignoring the pain radiating through his body, Thomas stared at Roy, his face a mask of pure shock.
’How is this possible?’
’How could the Shield Technique be broken by a newly promoted Black Iron Great Knight?’
’He’s not a Black Iron Great Knight!’
’He is definitely not a Black Iron Great Knight!’
"You’re a Golden Great Knight! You must be a Golden Great Knight!"
Thomas swallowed hard and shouted at Roy.
"No, I’m not."
Roy shook his head.
He was telling the truth; he was not, in fact, a Golden Great Knight.
While he possessed many High Tier Life Seeds, he wouldn’t be considered a Golden Great Knight until his Life Seeds advanced to Tier Nine.
As for his combat prowess... that was another matter entirely.
"Only a Golden Great Knight can break the Shield Technique so easily! You have to be a Golden Great Knight!"
Thomas refused to believe him, screaming himself hoarse.
"If you say so."
"What other Magic do you know? Go on, use it all."
"Out of respect for your age, I’ll even give you a freebie. I promise I won’t ambush an old man like you while you’re constructing your Magic Model."
After speaking, Roy plunged his Fighting Qi Destruction Sword into the grassy ground.
For him, the outcome of the battle was already decided.
Since the result was a foregone conclusion, he didn’t mind toying with Thomas for a little longer.
For instance, he wanted to see just how many Level Zero Spells Thomas actually knew.
Judging by the vision from his Spiritual Warning, Thomas knew at least five Level Zero Spells.
He had already seen the Shield Technique, with its soft, white glow.
He had yet to see the Flame Ray, Fireball, Acid Rain, and Vine Entanglement.
Since the Spiritual Warning had only shown part of the fight, it was highly likely that Thomas knew other Level Zero Spells as well.
Roy’s offer was a kindness, allowing Thomas to live a little longer.
In Thomas’s eyes, however, this gesture was nothing but a blatant humiliation.
For as long as he could remember, it was always Wizard Apprentices who looked down on Great Knights.
Now the tables had completely turned, with a Great Knight looking down on a Wizard Apprentice.
Although he was old and long past his hot-blooded youth, the sight of Roy plunging his Fighting Qi Destruction Sword into the ground made an irrepressible rage well up inside Thomas.
’So what if I couldn’t make it in the Wizarding World!’
’To come back to the Knight Continent only to be humiliated like this... what was the point of returning at all!’
Without a moment’s hesitation, Thomas scrambled to his feet, glaring at Roy with murder in his eyes.
Even though Roy had said he wouldn’t ambush an old man like him during the construction of a Magic Model, Thomas was still prepared to activate his Defense Against Demonization Items at a moment’s notice.
Under Roy’s watchful eye, Thomas cast the Shield Technique once more, causing the Semi-Transparent Shield to float before him.
Only after casting the Shield Technique did he begin constructing the Magic Model for another spell.
In just a few short seconds, an orange-red, fist-sized Fireball appeared in his hand.
"Is that the Fireball Technique?"
Roy asked, watching Thomas with keen interest.
"That’s right! This is the Fireball Technique!"
The words had barely left his lips when Thomas hurled the orange-red Fireball that was floating above his right hand.
The orange-red Fireball’s Flying Speed was no slower than an Arrow’s, and it reached Roy in an instant.
