Chapter 125: Chapter 115: Thunder Beast Mode, Wizard Assassin
’The Ironblood Duke is going to die in a month?’
Allen’s expression was one of immediate surprise upon hearing Roy’s words.
He quickly put it all together.
"Is the Dark Night Knight making a move against the Ironblood Duke?"
Allen asked Roy.
Roy didn’t speak, but he nodded.
Seeing his response, Allen didn’t hesitate and continued, "If we wait until next month to take Gaoyan County, we can be more thorough with our preparations."
"This is valuable intel. Thanks!"
Although the Dark Night Knight was publicly known to be only a Bronze Great Knight, Allen didn’t doubt for a second that he could kill the Ironblood Duke.
He knew the Dark Night Knight was also a member of the Second Son Brotherhood.
For certain members of the Second Son Brotherhood, fighting and winning against a higher-tiered opponent was not a particularly difficult matter.
Beyond that, he felt there was another very important reason the Dark Night Knight could defeat an opponent of a higher tier like the Ironblood Duke.
The Dark Night Knight was Roy’s teacher.
Roy, the student, could fight one against five and kill five Black Iron Great Knights of a higher tier.
So it would be perfectly normal for his teacher, the Dark Night Knight, to kill the Silver Great Knight, Ironblood Duke, despite the tier difference.
What Allen would never know was that every single battle fought by either Roy or the Dark Night Knight had been, without exception, a complete steamroll.
The triumph of the weak over the strong sounded impressive, but it wasn’t Roy’s preferred style of combat.
He wouldn’t gamble with his life, and he didn’t like to do things he wasn’t sure about.
A crushing victory with absolutely no risk was what he loved most!
Although he couldn’t determine the strength of his enemies and would certainly encounter foes stronger than himself in the future, he would always make thorough preparations whenever he had the chance.
After a bit more small talk, Allen took his leave.
Unlike before, he was no longer an insignificant nobody in the Adams Clan. He was now its true master, responsible for handling all the affairs of his clan and territory.
As Allen traveled through the night back to the Giant Monster Domain, Roy resumed his cultivation of the Thunder Beast Breathing Technique in Chaos Square.
...
Allen’s intel—or rather, the Second Son Brotherhood’s intel—was spot on.
At noon three days later, the Kalin Kingdom, having mobilized its entire army, split its forces into two groups. They simultaneously invaded the Southern Territory’s Valo and Gemu Provinces, beginning a war of annihilation to completely swallow the Laine Kingdom.
At the same time, the Kalin Kingdom’s most powerful warrior, one of its five Dukes, the Flying Dragon Knight known as the "Sword of National Defense," led four of his students and six Clan Knights to Green Forest Castle. They launched a decapitation strike against the Lord of the South, the Green Forest Duke.
The Flying Dragon Knight and his party broke through Green Forest Castle’s defenses. The Green Forest Duke, under the desperate protection of his subordinates, escaped the castle through a secret passage, his whereabouts unknown.
The Green Forest Duke’s clansmen and Clan Knights suffered disastrous casualties, and corpses littered the inside of the castle.
Silver Creek City, the largest and most prosperous city in the Southern Territory and less than ten kilometers from Green Forest Castle, was also breached by the Flying Dragon Duke and his party on the same day.
Without the Green Forest Duke in command, the now-leaderless nobles of the Southern Territory could only fight for themselves.
Then, they were defeated one by one by the Kalin Kingdom’s army.
As he did after the first Tulip War, the Flying Dragon Knight, the Kalin Kingdom’s greatest warrior, once again proved through his actions the tremendous impact high-level combatants had on the tide of war.
In less than ten days, over half of the Southern Territory had fallen into the Kalin Kingdom’s hands.
At this rate, the Laine Kingdom would be nothing more than a name in the history books in three or four months.
Once the Kalin Kingdom launched its war to destroy the Laine Kingdom, few people discussed Roy and the Dark Night Knight anymore.
The war in the Southern Territory became the primary topic of conversation and concern.
Not only that, but news of certain noble families being completely wiped out came from the Southern Territory almost daily.
The Laine Kingdom’s already chaotic situation descended into even greater turmoil.
Yorkshire was no exception.
The only difference was that the nobles within Yorkshire weren’t fighting. Instead, many minor nobles were selling off their family lands at fire-sale prices, preparing to renounce their noble status and move their entire clans to other kingdoms.
As the two most famous and powerful families in Yorkshire, the Wesley Clan and the Olson Clan became these nobles’ first choice, as they attempted to sell their lands to them.
To be fair, the prices these nobles offered showed their sincerity.
Compared to the prices before the four Dukes’ rebellion, these prices were so low they were practically giving the land away.
But even so, neither the Wesley Clan nor the Olson Clan acquired their lands.
’Why pay for something you can get for free!’
Once these noble families moved to other kingdoms, they would be voluntarily abandoning their lands.
At that point, whoever had the bigger fist would be the one to claim those lands.
The situation outside grew more chaotic by the day.
But Roy acted as if none of it concerned him, continuing his life of relentless cultivation.
Four days ago, on his ninth day back in Ice Wolf Castle from Rock Lion Castle, he had systematically cultivated his Thunder Beast Breathing Technique to Tier Eight.
And then, he received an unexpected surprise.
He had been prepared to cultivate the Thunder Beast Breathing Technique all the way to the Tier Nine Limit before it would produce a special effect.
However, it turned out that a Perfect Level Breathing Technique not only had a higher ceiling but also didn’t need to be cultivated to its limit to produce a special effect.
The moment the Thunder Beast Breathing Technique was upgraded to Tier Eight, its special effect was born.
