Chapter 1509: They didn’t take it
Chapter 1509: They didn’t take it
It didn’t take long for them to arrive at the warehouse of this pavilion.
With the button that it received, Xiao Mu was already in full control of this place and knew where everything was. So it was able to quickly lead them to where the goods were stored.
Though when standing in front of the warehouse, it wasn’t as if they were expecting anything.
With the experience that they had, they knew that there wouldn’t be much in this place. After all, the Dao Sect had taken most of the things that had been stored in the different pavilions when they faced that disaster that wiped them out.
It wasn’t as if they would leave things here to rot when the Dao Sect was in danger, so the things that had been stored would be taken to face whatever disaster the Dao Sect faced.
It would be the same for this pavilion as well.
However, when Xiao Mu opened the warehouse, they were surprised to find that it wasn’t as empty as they thought it would be. In fact, this warehouse was positively filled to the brim with how full the shelves were.
It seemed like for whatever reason, the poisons of this pavilion hadn’t been taken along by the Dao Sect when they faced that disaster.
Without a word, they moved through the different shelves and looked closely at the things that were here. Though it was only Lin Fan and Xiao Mu who were actually looking at these things.
Ye Qing Huan only had the basic knowledge from the female elder, so it wasn’t as if she would be able to identify the things that were here. The ones that were left here were all poisons that were beyond her capability to identify.
Which was why it was all left to Xiao Mu and Lin Fan.
Though in Xiao Mu’s case, it was much slower since it was still learning about how to craft poison as well. Xiao Mu had to slowly analyze the poisons in these bottles since it wasn’t able to recognize them with a single glance.
But it wasn’t as if this was a bad thing since it was a good experience for Xiao Mu.
"This poison actually has this kind of property, but what ingredients would be used to accomplish this?"
The excited look on Xiao Mu’s face was already more than enough to show how it was interested in this place.
In the first place, Xiao Mu had only learned about poisons because it had wanted to use them to serve a purpose. But the more that Xiao Mu learned about the poisons, it seemed the more interested it was in them.
At the same time, it was clear that there were more things that Xiao Mu wanted to do with the poisons.
Even though Xiao Mu had already been able to mimic most of the basic emotions with just the poison that it developed, it wasn’t able to mimic some of the more complicated emotions with these poisons.
If it wanted to mimic those complicated emotions, it would have to find a mix of these poisons or develop even stronger ones. The poisons on the shelf in front of it might be that solution for Xiao Mu.
Lin Fan was able to identify most of these with his Appraisal Eyes, but there were a few that he couldn’t identify.
Just from this alone, he was able to tell just how special these poisons that he couldn’t identify were.
In fact, it would be dangerous to take these special poisons from this place since there was no telling what would happen to them.
But in the end, that didn’t matter.
"Let’s leave these things here."
Xiao Mu was the one that suggested this first.
The other two both looked at Xiao Mu with confused looks as they tried to figure out what Xiao Mu meant by this. After all, they had both seen how Xiao Mu had looked at the poisons that were on the shelves.
They knew that these things would certainly be helpful to Xiao Mu if it took them away to analyze.
However, Xiao Mu just calmly said, "I want to forge my own path."
Though Xiao Mu said this, the two of them couldn’t help raising a brow to look at Xiao Mu. After all, they didn’t think that Xiao Mu’s decision was that simple.
Even if Xiao Mu wanted to forge its own path with its poisons, it wasn’t as if it couldn’t use the poisons in this place as a reference. There were countless paths, but they were all built on the same foundations.
Which was why there was certainly more to this than what Xiao Mu was saying.
Xiao Mu could see the way that they were looking at it and it turned away as if it didn’t want to talk about it. But eventually, Xiao Mu had no choice but to say with a sigh, "This place is their legacy, it’s best to leave it here."
Lin Fan couldn’t help shaking his head with a bitter smile when he heard this.
Ye Qing Huan on the other hand revealed a complicated look.
In the end, Ye Qing Huan was the one that acted first as she said, "Alright, we’ll do what you want to do."
There was a trace of emotion that was in her voice, but it seemed like she was still in control of herself. After all, she had already accepted that fact before they came to this place.
Still, it was hard for her not to feel a bit emotional because of it.
Xiao Mu reached out a hand to take Ye Qing Huan’s hand before giving her a look.
Ye Qing Huan came back to her senses after seeing this and just gave Xiao Mu a small nod to show that she was fine.
The two of them went forward to start moving things to where they could preserve it for the future.
While they were doing this, Lin Fan just awkwardly stood there watching them.
It wasn’t that he didn’t want to help, it was just that he felt awkward about offering when he thought of what Xiao Mu said earlier. It was something that he still didn’t understand even after all this time.
The reason that Xiao Mu wanted to leave this place as it was was because of the way that it regarded the female elder. This place was without a doubt a legacy of the female elder, which was why it had struck a chord with Xiao Mu.
In a way, this was how Xiao Mu wanted to show respect to the female elder.
It was a form of filial piety.
For Ye Qing Huan, who took Xiao Mu as her child, she could relate since she hoped that Xiao Mu would do the same for her if something were to happen one day. Even if she didn’t fully accept that Xiao Mu saw the female elder as a sort of mother as well.
She could at least support Xiao Mu in this matter.
As for Lin Fan who had been told that he wasn’t regarded the same...it really was awkward for him to do anything.
Both Ye Qing Huan and Xiao Mu worked very quickly as they gathered everything that they wanted to preserve in one spot. Then Xiao Mu went forward and did a few things for these bottles.
Within the knowledge that Xiao Mu received from the female elder, it naturally included information on doing something like storing them for the future. With Xiao Mu’s preparations, there was no need to worry about these poisons going bad.
Though in the first place, it wasn’t as if this was necessary.
If they hadn’t been properly stored to begin with, then they would have already gone bad.
Once they were all moved to this spot, Xiao Mu also created something that could be considered a memorial for that female elder.
This wasn’t something that it had done for the elder that had created it, but then again it wasn’t as if Xiao Mu had that kind of awareness before this. Xiao Mu had only gained sentience just a few days ago, so there were things that it was still learning.
With the way that it was looking at this memorial, it seemed like Xiao Mu was thinking about going back to the training hall as well.
Ye Qing Huan patted Xiao Mu on the shoulder as if she was saying that they could do that later.
After this was all done, Xiao Mu didn’t waste any time in gathering the ingredients that were here.
Other than poisons, there were ingredients that were also left behind for Xiao Mu to take and there was nothing that Xiao Mu had against taking these things. Especially since some of them were quite rare and hard to find in the first place.
With these things, there was no doubt that Xiao Mu would be able to craft all kinds of poisons for its use.
These ingredients weren’t really considered a legacy, it was more an inheritance that could be freely used.
The change even made Xiao Mu look like a thief with how it was grabbing everything that it could see.
When it was all over, there was only that one spot that was left behind.
To ensure that no one would be able to touch those things, Xiao Mu even used the power of the button to create a barrier around that place. It was the same barrier that they had encountered all over the Dao Sect, the one that had blocked their spiritual sense.
To the eyes, it was as if those things just disappeared from sight.
