Chapter 1262: Establishing a faction

Once the deal was made, it wasn’t as if they would be able to back down on it.

This was a deal that was made willingly, so of course they would follow through.

Especially since this was a deal that wasn’t considered that bad for them.

In the end, the price that Lin Fan gave them was much lower than they had expected.

The core disciples couldn’t help looking at Lin Fan with surprised looks when they heard the offer that he made, but Lin Fan just looked back at them with a calm look on his face.

It was clear that he wasn’t going to go back on his words now.

So they just thought that it was something special that he was doing out of consideration for them.

It seemed like he sincerely wanted this cooperation between them to succeed.

But the truth of this matter is that these were the things that the Love Sect needed right now.

Since these foundational techniques that he was trading came from the Love Sect, then he would trade them for things that the Love Sect needed to develop. That was the only way to justify trading these techniques away.

Though if the others were here, they definitely wouldn’t have agreed.

When it was over, all of the core disciples left with looks on their faces as if they were satisfied and dissatisfied with this meeting at the same time. There was nothing else that they could do since it wasn’t the best ending for them.

But at least they got something out of this.

When it was just Lin Fan and Ye Qing Huan left in the room, she suddenly asked in a serious voice, “What are you thinking?”

This was different from how Ye Qing Huan had treated Lin Fan in the past.

It was clear that there was a complete shift in tone that came over Ye Qing Huan.

She was no longer the Ye Qing Huan that he knew, but rather a core disciple of the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Though Lin Fan couldn’t blame her for doing this.

The things that he did certainly were hard for her to understand, which is why she would be acting this way.

“I don’t mean any harm, I just want to protect myself.” Lin Fan said in a calm voice in response to this question.

Ye Qing Huan narrowed her eyes to look at him, but she didn’t refute this as she waited for him to explain himself.

Lin Fan continued in the same calm voice, “It’s impossible for me to avoid being dragged into the situation of the Heavenly Demon Sect. So the only thing that I can do is find a way to keep myself safe with a buffer.”

Ye Qing Huan didn’t answer right away, but the way that her expression changed showed that she was slowly understanding what he was saying.

After a moment of silence, she finally asked, “You want to use them as that buffer?”

Lin Fan gave a slow nod in response without saying anything.

Once again, Ye Qing Huan was silent for a bit before saying, “But you should know that it’s not that easy to do that.”

“For others, yes, but I have something that changes that.”

Ye Qing Huan once again didn’t refute this, but she still had something to say, “But that will only last so long. Do you really think that this will be enough to keep them from bothering you?”

“This isn’t all that the Love Sect has. There’s more that I can use in the future.”

Ye Qing Huan narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan once more.

This time, it seemed like she was seriously looking at him. It was something that she was doing for the first time since Ye Qing Huan had always treated Lin Fan as someone that she could toy with.

No, it was actually the second time.

The first time was when they met in the Minor World and he solved her problem.

After a while, Ye Qing Huan shook her head and said with a smile, “Then you’re trying to build your own faction to use as a shield. Since that’s the case, I guess I should give you some more information about the Heavenly Demon Sect for the future.”

Lin Fan was surprised to hear this, but it didn’t seem like he was expecting much from her.

After all, all of the times that Ye Qing Huan offered something similar, she would always be messing with him.

But this time Lin Fan was surprised to find that Ye Qing Huan didn’t do the same thing she did in the past. This time, she actually offered information that was quite useful to him.

It was information about these core disciples that had come to visit him and the factions that were behind him.

Since they had been able to become core disciples of the Heavenly Demon Sect, there had to be something behind them that allowed them to reach that point. It wasn’t as if someone could just come out of thin air and become a core disciple.

Someone like Lin Fan really was one of a kind.

There was no one that had luck that was on the same level as his.

Though it wasn’t as if Lin Fan was lucky in the first place.

Everything that he had was given to him by his system, none of it actually came from luck at all. If it wasn’t for his system, he might have already died from the poison that he suffered from when he came into this world.

So it really couldn’t be considered luck in the end.

Still, Lin Fan had managed to become a core disciple of the Heavenly Demon Sect, that was a fact.

But that was more from Ye Qing Huan introducing him rather than him being discovered. If it wasn’t for Ye Qing Huan moving the Fire FIst King and the Poison King, then they never would have even known about Lin Fan.

That just went to show what kind of power influence had.

As long as one had influence, they would be able to introduce people that were never supposed to meet. Those people that were never supposed to meet would be able to discover things in each other that they didn’t know about.

It was only through their families’ influence that these core disciples met their masters.

All of the families behind the core disciples were families that had deep roots in the Heavenly Demon Sect after all.

The Heavenly Demon Sect was different from all other sects that were controlled by those that were disconnected from the world.

The Heavenly Demon Sect was a gathering of all the different demon sects and all the different demonic cultivation families. That meant that there were many divisions in the Heavenly Demon Sect based around those factions.

It was also the reason why the Heavenly Demon Sect was the strongest.

Only the strong could reach high positions in the Heavenly Demon Sect after all.

With this information about their families, Lin Fan could start to see the overall layout of the Heavenly Demon Sect.

Other than information about their families, Ye Qing Huan also included information about the other factions of the Heavenly Demon Sect. After all, if Lin Fan really wanted to create his own faction, then he would need to know about who he was dealing with.

When she was done, Ye Qing Huan said, “I know that it’s a lot to take in, but it’s important if you want to create your own faction.”

After a pause, she added, “Of course, if you want, you could always come to our Ye Family…”

This was the true goal that Ye Qing Huan had been after in introducing all of these factions to Lin Fan.

She just wanted to make him understand how many different factions there were so that she would be able to convince him to lean on the Ye Family. Then once he went to the Ye Family…it would be hard to say if he could escape.

“No, right now, I can’t go to any faction.” Lin Fan said in a firm voice that made Ye Qing Huan displeased.

But there was no need for him to explain what he was thinking since Ye Qing Huan could figure it out on her own. It was easy for her to figure all of this since she knew exactly what he meant when he said this.

Still, it wasn’t as if she was happy to hear him say it to her face like this.

In the end, Ye Qing Huan just gave a snort and turned to leave before saying, “Well, I’ve told you everything that I have to say. The rest is up to you.”

Lin Fan shook his head with a faint smile, but he still said, “Thank you for that. I’ll be sure to use the information that you gave me properly.”

Ye Qing Huan didn’t say anything as she left, but she did sneak a peek back when she went out the door.

The reason that he couldn’t join the Ye Family, it was all because he wanted to make a neutral faction.

Lin Fan didn’t want to get involved in any of the matters of the Heavenly Demon Sect and only a neutral faction would be ignored like that. So he had to make sure that the faction that he created wasn’t on any sides.

For that, he would have to balance out just who he supported in the Heavenly Demon Sect.

This information would certainly go a long way for him.
