Chapter 1260: Reckless disciples

Lin Fan narrowed his eyes to look at the arm that Xiao Ming had been hiding behind herself.

She had tried to hide it so that no one would notice that it was injured, but it was hard to hide it from Lin Fan. Especially when he could see through her condition with just a single glance.

He didn’t even have to use his Appraisal Eyes, all it took was a single look at the status screen from the system.

When he saw that she was injured, he came down right away.

Xiao Ming had an awkward look seeing Lin Fan staring at her like this, but she didn’t say anything in the end.

Lin Fan also didn’t say anything as he suddenly turned around to look at Huang Xie who was still standing outside of the ring.

When Huang Xie saw Lin Fan looking in his direction, there was an awkward look that appeared on his face as well before he turned his head away. It was as if he also had something that he was trying to hide from Lin Fan.

Lin Fan didn’t let it show on his face, but he couldn’t help feeling a bit exasperated because of these two.

Both of them had done the same thing.

Even though they had been injured, they had hid their injuries so that no one noticed them.

Huang Xie and Xiao Ming knew what he wanted from them, so they sat down in front of him.

With a sigh, Lin Fan took out two pills for them and handed them over. They took one each and swallowed them without a word as they trusted what Lin Fan gave them.

After swallowing, their wounds that had started to swell started to recede.

This was quite the potent pill that Lin Fan had given the two of them.

But that wasn’t the only thing that he was doing.

Having them sit down in front of him, Lin Fan started using his Clear Water to supply them with spiritual energy and heal them.

“Master, is this…” Huang Xie wanted to stop Lin Fan from doing this, but he stopped when he saw the way that Lin Fan glared at him.

Xiao Ming had been silent the entire time.

In fact, it even seemed like she enjoyed having Lin Fan take care of her like this.

After all, she was once an orphan that had been taken in by Lin Fan and the Love Sect.

So in a way, she even saw Lin Fan as a sort of adoptive father.

The way that the Love Sect elders all took care of their disciples really was like how parents took care of their kids.

This was just how it was in the Love Sect, it was completely different from other sects where those that were in the same sect were just there for their own benefits. They didn’t bond with each other as a family like the Love Sect did.

When they were done taking care of their disciples, there was one thing left for them to do.

“What were you all thinking?” Lin Fan as the sect master was the one that said this.

All of the elders stood behind him and supported him when he said this.

It really seemed like a group of parents that were scolding kids that had been caught doing something wrong.

None of the disciples of the Love Sect could say anything as they all awkwardly turned away.

There were some that were looking at Huang Xie and Xiao Ming to take the lead, but those two didn’t want to take the lead either when they saw the way that Lin Fan was looking at them.

In the end, they were still kids and they didn’t want to be scolded by the ones that they viewed as their parents.

Seeing that none of them were going to say anything, Lin Fan said with a sigh, “I really am disappointed in all of you. I know that I said that we were going to depend on you all for this, but that didn’t mean that we were expecting you to put yourselves on the line like that for the Love Sect. All you had to do was show off a normal amount without putting your bodies on the line like that.”

All of the elders nodded in agreement when they heard this.

The disciples lowered their heads even more after Lin Fan said this.

There was only an awkward silence that followed before the disciples finally said, “We just wanted to do what was best for the Love Sect.”

“Who told you this was the best? Who told you to put yourselves in danger for the Love Sect? Do you really think that the Love Sect can’t do anything without all of you?” Lin Fan immediately asked after hearing this.

Once again, all of the disciples lowered their heads as if they were kids being scolded.

After a long silence, Mu Bao Bao came forward and said, “Alright, let’s take a step back.”

This was the role that she had been assigned to play since she didn’t have a disciple that came forward for the tournament. Even if Mu Bao Bao was still a part of the Love Sect, she was also the empress of the Mu Empire.

So it wasn’t as if she could actually send her disciple forward even if they were part of the Love Sect.

Or with the way that her disciple followed Huang Xie…

Once Mu Bao Bao stepped in, it was as if the disciples found a straw to grasp at as they all turned to look at her. But they held themselves back in the end since they knew that it wasn’t up to Mu Bao Bao alone.

They all just waited to see what Lin Fan would say.

In the end, Lin Fan just said with a sigh, “In the end, you’ve all worked hard and gained prestige for the Love Sect. On account of that, we’ll leave matters here today.”

Then narrowing his eyes, he looked at the disciples and said, “But there better not be a next time.”

All of them trembled when they saw this before quickly nodding in agreement.

Once that was over, the elders relaxed as well and started praising their disciples for their hard work. Though they did make sure to add some scolding into their praise to make sure that these disciples didn’t act up.

At least the general mood was festive.

Mu Bao Bao leaned in and said, “You know you’re happy about this. You should relax a bit more.”

“If I do, who knows what they’ll do next time?”

Mu Bao Bao suddenly revealed a smile as she said, “You’re just like a dad with how you’re acting.”

Lin Fan revealed a bitter smile, but he didn’t deny this.

However, he couldn’t help doing a spit take when he heard what Mu Bao Bao said next.

“I think that it’s time for you to become a real dad too. There’s the issue of the heir for the Mu Empire.”

Lin Fan just had a dazed look on his face when he heard this.
