With My System, I Can Even Tame Gods

Chapter 1130 - 1130: Moving resources

“Your majesty, we’re willing to work with you in developing this Glory City.”

Emperor Kalos had a very strange look on his face when he heard this.

After all, as far as he knew, the adventurers would never agree to something like this.

Adventurers only cared about one thing and one thing only.

That was money.

If they didn’t get paid enough, then it wasn’t as if they would go out of their way to risk their necks.

At the same time, it wasn’t as if this was a normal matter.

What they were getting involved in was related to the six factions and how Emperor Kalos was going against them. If they were to get involved in this matter, then that would mean that they would be going against the six factions.

So Emperor Kalos didn’t feel like these adventurers could be trusted.

Those that were moved by money were the ones that were the easiest to sway.

“Your majesty, I promise that I’ll make sure to keep them in line.” Dungeon Core 563 promised this to Emperor Kalos.

But the only reaction that Emperor Kalos had to these words was doubt.

The words of an adventurer wasn’t something that would be trusted that easily in the first place. Especially since they were people that could be bought quite easily.

However, this was a S Rank Adventurer.

In the end, the promise that Dungeon Core 563 made was the thing that sold it for Emperor Kalos.

“If we are offered a larger amount, we will tell you first before leaving.”

There was a complicated look on Emperor Kalos’ face when he heard this.

It wasn’t a promise that the adventurers would be loyal, it was a promise of giving a warning before betraying them.

If it was in any other situation, Emperor Kalos would have directly sent Dungeon Core 563 and the other adventurers packing.

These adventurers were strong enough that he couldn’t force them under him and there was no telling when they would betray his side. So it wasn’t as if he could just trust them to work with them.

It was only because Dungeon Core 563 was a S Rank Adventurer that he trusted them enough to use them.

No matter what, a S Rank Adventurer was a title that could be trusted to a certain extent.

So in the end, that was why Emperor Kalos accepted the adventurers into the city and let them take care of certain things for him.

The area that the barrier covered included a forest that had monsters wandering around. He didn’t want to send the city guards and royal guards to handle them, so he sent the adventurers.

With the area that the barrier covered, it was actually quite a bit of land that was inside the barrier. That meant that there were quite a bit of resources that were available to the people of Glory City.

With everything that was inside of the barrier, it was almost as if it was a kind of miniature economy.

That was also the main reason why there wasn’t a riot in the end.

As long as the people’s livelihoods weren’t threatened and they didn’t starve, then there was no reason that they couldn’t adapt and live through this. A human’s ability to adapt was not something to look down on.

“What was the thing that you had me put in their drinks?” That was the first thing that Dungeon Core 563 asked Lin Fan when they were alone.

Unlike Emperor Kalos who didn’t have a single idea of how Lin Fan controlled the royal guards, Dungeon Core 563 had an idea. After all, she had been the one that administered the means of controlling them in the first place.

What Lin Fan did before she went off with the regiment commanders was give her a pack of something to add to their drinks.

This was something that was odorless and colourless, so they had no idea what was happening until it was too late.

But even though Dungeon Core 563 questioned Lin Fan about this, he didn’t actually answer the questions that she had. There was no reason why he had to answer these questions, especially since it wasn’t something that he wanted anyone to know about.

The simple answer was that he used Brainy’s power to take care of them.

Only if someone learned about Brainy’s power, there was no doubt that it would cause a large problem.

Not only would they be wary of Lin Fan because of this power, they would also want to take this power for themselves. After all, there was nothing more powerful than being able to control people.

As such, Lin Fan wouldn’t want anyone to know anything about Brainy.

That was why Lin Fan didn’t answer this question.

Even with Dungeon Core 563 glaring at him as if she was trying to force him to answer this question, Lin Fan just ignored all of this.

Instead, he changed the topic by asking, “Are your people getting things done?”

Dungeon Core 563’s expression changed when she heard this.

It was one thing to go against Lin Fan, but what he was asking about was related to the Laver Empire. If it was related to the Laver Empire, that meant that this was a matter that was related to Haku as well.

As a member of the Haku fanclub, it was only natural that she would treat Haku as the most important thing.

And this matter was related to the prosperity of the Laver Empire, so it could be considered quite important to her.

Or at least that was what Lin Fan told her.

In reality, it wasn’t that important for the Laver Empire since the effect that this would have on the Laver Empire was minimal. After all, the amount of resources that were being moved was just from Glory City alone.

A single city would never have enough resources to affect an entire empire.

“I’ve already had people move the resources to the people that you’ve requested. They are people that are under me, so there won’t be any problems at all.”

Then Dungeon Core 563 narrowed her eyes to look at Lin Fan before saying, “Are you certain that these things will reach Big Sister Haku?”

Lin Fan just said with a faint smile, “Of course. You already confirmed that these people were spies from the Laver Empire, right? If the Laver Empire is involved in a place like this, then there’s no doubt that it would be because Haku gave the command.”

Dungeon Core 563 kept looking at Lin Fan with the same narrowed eyes without saying anything, but eventually she gave a nod in response and said, “Alright, I’ll believe you for now.”

Lin Fan didn’t mind this since he already knew that she believed him.

If she didn’t, then she never would have gone through with all of this.

After all, she had to call in quite a few favours with the other adventurers to arrange this. This was not something that could have been done that easily, which was why even a S Rank Adventurer like Dungeon Core 563 had to pay quite a bit to make sure that it happened.

But in the end, this would be useful since it would help Yue Lan’s plan.

Right now, they had already gotten past all of the hurdles that this plan had.

The only thing that was left was to let things turn out the way that they turned out.

Regardless of how this ended, it would only have a good result for Lin Fan.

After all, this plan was all about weakening the power of the Kalos Empire by targeting the emperor who had been turned into a puppet.

Their plan in the first place was to push the Kalos Empire closer to the brink of civil war and if they removed the thing that was keeping that from happening, then it would mean that the Kalos Empire would fight over the throne.

The six factions had been hesitating on this since they didn’t know if they could win.

But if the emperor that was holding them back was removed…then they would have no other choice.

The only thing that was left for Lin Fan to do was find a time to leave Glory City.

It wasn’t as if he couldn’t leave right away since that would still mean that the plan would be a success. It was just that if he were to leave now, they wouldn’t gain as much as they could.

It was all about leaving at the right time so that the plan caused as much trouble for the Kalos Empire as possible.

As for being able to leave or not…

Lin Fan wasn’t worried.

As long as they didn’t send their best experts, then there was no way that Lin Fan would be caught by them.

But thinking of that, there was something that Lin Fan had to ask Dungeon Core 563.

“Have you thought about what happens when the six factions take back the city? Have you already found a way out?”

Dungeon Core 563 looked at Lin Fan with a strange look before saying, “Are you worried about me? I don’t need someone like you to worry about me, I can take care of myself. Besides, my status as a S Rank Adventurer is more than enough to keep me safe.”

Lin Fan revealed a bitter smile when he saw how Dungeon Core 563 was looking at him.

It was almost as if she was treating him like some kind of predator.

While it was true that he had Rokuko as one of his women, it wasn’t as if he would make a move on any dungeon core.

But he didn’t bother explaining this since he knew that Dungeon Core 563 wouldn’t listen to him.
