He could tell that Scarlett Yates was genuinely exhausted; her tired face wasn’t something she could fake.

Earlier, she had mentioned being hungry, so she probably hadn’t eaten much dinner either.

Seeing him agree, Scarlett managed to squeeze out a smile and secretly breathed a sigh of relief, "Knox Simmons, thank you."

He furrowed his brow, looking displeased, "Don’t say thank you to me anymore, are you still treating me like an outsider?"

"Then... I won’t say thank you, just as you said, I’ll treat you to a meal sometime. However, don’t complain if the place I choose isn’t fancy enough."

"As long as I’m with my sweetie Scarlett, anything is fine. If you really take me to a high-end place, I wouldn’t enjoy it. I’ve grown tired of that stuff; I eat it every day."

Scarlett laughed, "Then I’ll treat you to soy milk and fried dough sticks, fresh enough for you, right? You don’t eat much of that, do you, Young Master?"

Knox gave a wicked smile, reached down to pinch her cheek, and looked at her with eyes as sweet as honey, "What we eat doesn’t matter, what matters is who we’re with. With my sweetie Scarlett, even bitter herbs taste sweet."

Sweet talk, for Knox Simmons, came naturally.

Scarlett burst into laughter, "Really? Then I’ll treat you to bitter herb juice. You better not refuse to drink it."

"Do you really want to treat me to this?" Knox furrowed his brow, deliberately putting on a worried face, and looked at her pitifully, "Baby Scarlett, I’ve given you my whole heart, and this is how you treat me? I can put up with soy milk and fried dough sticks, but bitter herb juice might be too much, huh?"

"Didn’t you just say that with me, bitter herb juice tastes as sweet as honey? Were you lying to me?"

"Scarlett, sweet talk is just to make people feel happy, who would take it seriously?"

"Oh, so you use your sweet talk to deceive women, right? How many women’s bitter herb juice have you drunk?"

"That’s not deception, it’s called romance, Scarlett. Do you know what romance is? Besides, with my qualities, do I need to deceive any woman? "Stop it, you’re giving me goosebumps."

The two chatted and laughed, and Knox’s anger slowly dissipated in their banter.

Seeing that the two were about to get into the car and leave, Olly was so anxious, she stamped her foot and shouted, "Young Madam, are you really not going back? The Young Master is still waiting for you!"

After placing Scarlett in the front passenger seat, Knox immediately wrapped her in a blanket and fastened her seatbelt before turning to the other side of the car.

As the car door closed, Scarlett turned her head and looked out the half-open window, "Olly, you should go back."

Olly stood still, "Young Madam, where are you going? Aren’t you coming back with me?"

Scarlett gently shook her head, "I’m not going back."

Olly’s face changed instantly.

What did she mean by saying she’s not going back?
