Will of chaos

Chapter 1975 1975: Cap 1970: We arrived too late...

Pov Nix:

I was looking at the planet from afar; it was a depressing and sad sight even from a distance. I could feel how dead, lifeless, soulless, and devoid of spirituality this place was.

A piece of rock that only resembles a planet in its form, but will never become a true world. I hate all the planets in this universe, I hate this whole damn universe.

A tasteless joke, it looks like a universe, but every single thing is so rigidly held in place, there’s nothing natural, nothing spontaneous. It feels like walking in a cemetery where everything is dead but arranged to look alive.

“Why are you standing still?” (Sakura)

“Sorry, I’m just rambling.” (me)

“I don’t blame you, this whole damn place is emanating this disgusting energy.” (Sakura)

Suddenly I looked at the planet; I hadn’t noticed it before because it was hidden, but the entire planet is emanating a macabre energy that sent shivers down my spine.

“Is this what Urd was talking about?” (me)

“Unfortunately, it seems so…” (Sakura)

“Then let’s go.” (me)

Without wasting any more time, I descended to the planet with Sakura, but as soon as we passed the clouds, the image of the planet changed completely. What was previously seen as a green world of forests and blue seas was now completely different. The forests had withered with red vines spreading everywhere, and the few rivers we could see were red; it clearly wasn’t water flowing there anymore.

“Let’s go to a city, I saw one from up there in that direction.” (Sakura)

“…” (me)

Sakura didn’t like what she saw, but I was revolted by it. I was holding back from losing control of my emotions.

Neither of us spoke about what we were seeing, we just decided to move on, but this whole horrible scene still affected me, and I’m sure it affected Sakura too. When we arrived in the city, things only got worse. “Sakura, is that…?” (me)

“Yes, they’re alive.” (Sakura)

“…” (me)

The city we arrived in was in ruins, but that was the least of our worries. We were used to devastated cities, and we had all destroyed a city or two ourselves, some of us even causing chaos on entire planets. Even so, what we were seeing here was different.

The city was empty of people, as we expected, at least of normal people, because their bodies were all deformed. Some were trapped, rooted to the walls, uttering horrible lamentations; some were shattered on the ground, and others so deformed that they could no longer be called people.

One of them was especially repugnant to me, to the point that I couldn’t even describe how those red roots were holding half of the little girl’s head, who was crying.

“I know how you feel, but we have priorities. We need to do a cleanup before anything else.” (Sakura)

“Could you…?” (me)

“No, they are imbued with the power of the Law; they are all isolated from the natural cycle. Only Urd can save them.” (Sakura)

“…” (me)

I didn’t like how these people were being treated. Their auras were roaring with pain and suffering; it was horrible to see and even worse to feel their auras, but there was nothing I could do about it.

Sakura wasn’t lying; she’s more connected to life energies than I am. These people, like everyone in this universe, are excluded from the natural cycle.

We continued moving forward, concealing our presence, and we saw those things being created: giant knights in black armor emerging from rituals drawn with lamenting living bodies, the energy of hatred almost out of control.

I look at Nix who responds with a nod; it was clear now how they were doing all this. The Avatar of Hate may have been eliminated, but remnants of its forces still exist, and I swear I will wipe them all out!

“< Star Breath >” (me)

“< Titanic Fist >” (Sakura)

Pov Samara:

I was flying among the stars towards the coordinates Urd gave me when I felt the master, his presence peering from within my soul was incredible.

The master has no idea how much the power of his Concept is awakening; it was a much better power than what I felt from Callidora in the past.

Callidora’s Concept was macabre and horrible to feel, but my new master was different; it was strange beyond almost anything I’ve ever encountered, but it was still comforting in a way.

As controlling as he is, he doesn’t treat me like a tool. His aura is also gentle, and the restrictions on me are both a containment and a protection. Since I became his Anomalous Saint, my soul has never been harmed again, and I feel his power flowing into me constantly.

“[Miss, I believe you are close to the target, but I ask that you wait until the others arrive at their positions.]” (Hajak)

“Alright, but don’t take too long, I can’t contain the excitement for much longer.” (me)

It’s been a long time since I’ve been able to completely let loose. These Creatures of Hate are perfect as food; they are highly nutritious, and the remnants of the Concept of Hate within them combine with my Infernal power.

If I eat enough of them and stay close to the master, constantly having access to his power to refine these Concepts of Hate, then I can end up generating a Concept of my own. I can finally open a Path within the Divine Realm of Master Zenos.

While my mind was wandering in thought, Hajak soon appeared along with his ship, which looked more like a pyramid with the tip open in four directions.

“Samara, come.” (Luci)

Following the call of Freya’s Avatar, I enter the ship, which quickly hides itself in space. I ignore this and walk towards the others.

“Any relevant news?” (me)

“Yes, it seems the Phoenix is getting stronger.” (Sarazar)

“What do you mean?” (me)

“He’s absorbing power, but we don’t know from what.” (Lolth)

Sarazar was sitting next to Lolth when he waved his hand, causing a holographic screen to appear showing footage of the Phoenix with its wings closed in the middle of a large flame that was rapidly turning bluer.

A mist of dust floated around him; his body was being continuously burned and rebuilt. In this process, his flames darkened and became bluer. I’m not sure what was happening; I’ve never seen anything like this before. Nothing has ever been reborn in hell.

“I don’t know what he’s doing, but he’s clearly getting stronger.” (me)

“He seems to be being reborn and seems to be absorbing something in the process.” (Lolth)

“Could it be that nightmare in his mind?” (me)

“Most likely it’s the nightmare. This type of transformation shouldn’t be so easy or fast, so it’s most likely that the power of Chaos is at work.” (Lolth)

After saying that, I looked in another direction where Hajak was next to Kira, one of the master’s wives. In front of them was a screen where I saw images of the Anomalous creatures.

I didn’t approach her, I only saw from a distance before focusing only on what was around me, paying more attention to Lolth, who seemed to be hiding something.

————————-

Hours later.

“[Everyone ready, begin!!]” (Hajak)

After hours of investigating them, we finally began to understand their numbers. They all seemed to be injured to some degree, but it didn’t seem serious; in fact, they all had flames on their bodies somewhere.

As I thought about this, Hajak was reviewing the information we had gathered. The Twins seemed to want to speed up this whole battle. Lolth even told me that Lena wanted to finish off the Phoenix quickly. She didn’t explain enough, and yet it was easy to understand the reason for all of this.

“(My target will be the Bird, it won’t escalate.)” (me)

Lena and Cortana seemed unwilling to let Master Zenos be in the slightest danger; they wanted to keep the Phoenix away.

At the moment we were hidden, and the Anomalous Creatures seemed to be finishing their healing, so without wasting time, everyone attacked at Hajak’s signal, who would stay behind, having little combat power.

“< Anomalous Eclipse Summoning: Chains of Infernal Anomaly >” (me)

“< Breath of the Tomb of Origin >” (Sarazar)

Chains appear on my arms and around my body, the chains that represent my restrictions and which are also my greatest weapons materialize.

My body moves forward, taking the lead, Lolth follows closely behind with her staff in hand, and Sarazar stays behind attacking first. A breath attack of gray flames emerges like a flaming column passing through us and devastating that entire continent, but these flames didn’t seem to be able to get close to where the Phoenix was.

Running ahead, my chains swung like the heads of victorious serpents, attacking treacherously, twisting in mid-air to fatally attack the enemies as quickly as possible. “<Invocation of Rebirth: Resurgence of the Ancestral Tree>” (Lolth)

We all advanced, and Lolth, taking advantage of the openings we created, moved forward, thrusting her staff forward where it grew into a tree that rose beyond the clouds. Its branches then descended like a celestial punishment upon all the enemies, leaving none of them able to escape and attack us.

With that, we all moved forward until we reached the Phoenix, which now had all its flames a dark blue. Its presence was chilling and reminded me of a part of Hell.

We all advanced to attack from three directions, but before we could do that, a magic circle appeared below it with red chains wrapping around it and pulling it inward.

It angrily destroyed several chains, yet more chains appeared, binding it and continuing to pull it down. These chains carried the power of Master Zenos, and soon its entire body was pulled down while it still struggled, and we couldn’t attack.

“…” (everyone)

“(We arrived too late…)” (me)

The three of us exchanged an awkward glance before turning to the enemies who now knew of our presence and were already prepared for battle.
