Will of chaos

Chapter 1973 1973: Cap 1968: There is no forgiveness...

I was sitting on the floor with my legs crossed, clenching my hands into fists to check the condition of my strength, checking the flow of energy through my body, and also checking the state of my Soul.

“My condition is largely recovered.” (me)

“(Only my Soul is still wounded, but nothing serious.)” (me)

“That’s good, I was worried it had gotten worse.” (Ibuki)

“I’m fine now.” (me)

“But you still haven’t told me the reason you accepted that absurdity.” (me)

“Sometimes you think too much…” (Ibuki)

Sigh

It’s been over an hour since I woke up. I went through some examinations by Erica and Karina before they left me alone about it. Ibuki was the only one who insisted on staying close while the others seemed to be busy with something.

I wanted to take advantage of Ibuki’s presence to review the marriage arrangement that the Merchant proposed on behalf of Pride. I expected her to refuse or at least have some kind of negative reaction, but that didn’t happen. What she did was contact all the others, who unanimously agreed with her.

I didn’t expect them all to accept this absurdity. I already have many more wives than I wanted. I expected them to refuse, giving a perfect excuse to get something else from the Merchant, which is why her acceptance was so impactful.

“You really never learn, forget the values of your old world, those limitations are ridiculous.” (Ibuki)

“This is something basic in all existence, even when I was a Goblin I knew this, the strong can and should have multiple partners.” (Ibuki)

“I heard that the former leader of the Goblin tribe where I was born had 8 human slaves to produce offspring. Even Diana told me that her father had 9 fiancées when he was younger and only married one because he didn’t love the others; it was his decision alone.” (Ibuki)

“But having multiple wives seems…” (Me)

“Why is it so difficult for you to understand?” (Ibuki)

“When a strong warrior appears, they acquire multiple partners to generate as many strong warriors as possible.” (Ibuki)

“If it’s a woman, then she can choose a different strong warrior for each of her children.” (Ibuki)

“Even Kings and Queens have multiple partners to ensure the continuation of the lineage.” (Ibuki)

“Even the Gods have multiple partners when they want, whether to seek pleasure or to try to produce children.” (Ibuki)

“Not only that, multiple partners can also provide support, such as alliances and other things; they are intimate bonds that support factions regardless of the level of power.” (Ibuki)

“I understand all of that, but it still seems strange to me. I’m more than a God now, I shouldn’t need a political marriage.” (Me)

“I’m marrying you all for love, and even that is something my mind is still trying to reconcile with my values.” (Me)

“Look at everything you’ve done for us, do you really think we’re going to doubt your love?” (Ibuki)

“We love you so much that we’re trying to become Entities to stand beside you and not behind you.” (Ibuki)

“Knowing that an alliance will be formed with the Entity of Pride and we will also gain someone as strong as Freya, there is no downside to this agreement, besides your ridiculous values!” (Ibuki)

Ibuki seemed increasingly irritated, as if she had to repeat basic arguments over and over again to an idiot who doesn’t understand, but I really don’t understand how she can think like that; our basic moral values are too different, and the same goes for customs.

“Let’s do it this way, I’ll meet her and then I’ll decide.” (Me)

“We’ve already talked to her, Ronan introduced us, and you already know her, so don’t take too long.” (Ibuki)

2 hours after Ibuki left.

Room 89.

“He seems fine, actually… his Laws seem to be transforming…” (Me)

“I know, but I don’t understand the reason for it now.” (Urd)

“This isn’t recent, he should have been suppressing it, but something triggered the transformation.” (Me)

“It must have been what I did to him before to stop the Universal Collapse.” (Urd)

“It could be, it seems like his Laws are trying to find a unique form, to become cohesive as a whole.” (Me)

“I know you want to help him, but you can’t do anything, the same goes for me.” (Me)

“This is an opportunity for him, if he can find a path on his own.” (Me)

“But what if it’s something bad?” (Urd)

“You also know that he spent a lot of time as an experiment, I’m afraid he’ll become a monster when he wakes up.” (Urd)

“That possibility isn’t zero, but if it happens, I’ll deal with it myself, until then, let him follow his own path regardless of whether it leads to heaven or hell.” (Me)

“…” (Urd)

Urd invited me to see 89, she was worried about him and I can understand why. The flesh of his entire body is contorting, his bones are glowing with Runes of Law, his organs seem alive, and his consciousness is dormant.

His condition is critical, so to speak; he could die in this state or transform into something else.

Urd transformed him into her Avatar, but that’s only a part of what he’s become; his Authority, which allowed him to regain a human form, isn’t everything it should be.

I always found it strange that someone who suffered as much as he did could be so naive, good, and calm. Now I’m beginning to understand that he was suppressing himself, trying to understand what he never had, trying to understand the good feelings he had never experienced before and prioritizing these new experiences, but none of that will erase the shadow of his past.

“(I hope he finds his own path…)” (me)

“Is that all you wanted to show?” (me)

“…” (Urd)

“No…” (Urd)

———————–

After leaving room 89, Urd began to guide me to the other side of the Temple where the prison where Urak was imprisoned was located.

Arriving there, I noticed something, fluctuations in space, not only that, I felt a difference in the Laws themselves, they were more rigid, sharper, more authoritarian than those that Urd controls.

When we arrived in front of the prison gates, I saw a change, the gates were now larger, the entire corridor becomes increasingly wider until it reaches these gates, moreover, these gates are covered with Runes of the Laws and chained as if this prison had been sealed for eternity.

“How long has this been going on?” (me)

“A few hours, I tried to get in, but I can’t.” (Urd)

“Of course not, these are not your Laws, they are an opposite reflection of your Laws.” (me)

“The same Laws, yet completely opposite premises… interesting.” (me)

Urd is gentle, kind and calm with her Divine Laws representing this as a basis.

But these are the complete opposite, yet I feel the same kind of power, Laws with Divinity, but they are different from those that Urd has become, they are more similar to me. “Let me see for myself…” (me)

I approached the gates and tried to take everything in during those few steps. As soon as I reached them and touched the gates, the chains came loose and the gates opened on their own. Inside, what I saw was very different from the empty room before.

There was outer space, there were blue and red stars shining everywhere, an eclipse forming a silver ring above, and our feet stepped on ground that didn’t exist as we entered; it seemed like an endless space, but each step we took seemed to cover millions of kilometers, and soon we arrived at a place where there were 7 obelisks containing chains in a circle, and in the middle, bound by these chains, was someone.

This person had only one pair of wings, but they were larger than the wings of the Ascendants; they were closed around that figure, leaving only their lowered head visible with their face hidden, but in this place there was only one possibility of who this individual was.

“I understand, so that one in the dream was you, I really thought it could be you.” (me)

“(You gave me a new opportunity…)” (Urak)

Her voice sounds directly in my mind, and looking at her body I understand that her body is still changing. For a second I wonder if she wasn’t the cause of the changes in 89, but that doesn’t seem to be the case since her Auras don’t seem to carry similarities, it must have been just a coincidence.

“What did you do to her?” (Urd)

“It was an accident, or perhaps something planned by another, in any case it doesn’t matter anymore.” (me)

“You know that doesn’t change anything, right?” (me)

“(It changes everything…)” (Urak)

“There is no forgiveness for what you did, there is no change that will cleanse your hands of the blood you spilled.” (me)

“(I don’t seek forgiveness, I know I don’t deserve such a blessing, nor do I seek redemption because I would never achieve it…)” (Urak)

“So what do you seek? Revenge!?” (Urd)

Urd initially wanted to ask for my mercy towards Urak when I locked her here, but now she is afraid of her revenge, her feelings are very confused, she wouldn’t seek revenge accepting so much of my power. In my mind, vague memories of what I did surface; I wasn’t in a fully conscious state at that moment, and yet I remember a little about what I did, as well as the image that formed in the end, so I have an idea of what she chose.

“(I will not fail again, I will protect him… I will protect everything I once almost destroyed… I will condemn along with me everyone and everything that dares to go against the Celestial Laws…!)” (Urak)

“May your path be true, and may you endure the torment that will inevitably come from it.” (me)

Her words were full of Will, and in them was something horrible for herself; she said “condemn along with me” naturally, it seems she found a different path than the one I planned.

“Urd, let’s go…” (me)

“…” (Urd)

Looking into Urd’s eyes, it seems she also understood.
