Will of chaos

Chapter 1879 - 1879: Cap 1875 (Remade): You are not immortal!

Author’s Note:

I apologize for my absence. I’ve been sick for almost two weeks, but in the last few days I’ve felt worse because of the medication, which made me put everything aside to recover. Now I’m much better and will return to my normal routine. I really hope nothing like this happens again.

Pov Sarazar:

I was facing the energy dome of this place. I still don’t know how such a large illusion could be placed over the entire planet. The level of complexity for something like this is unthinkable.

“How long will it take?” (Lolth)

“A few minutes, maybe seconds.” (Yaffe)

“Wait, didn’t you say this curse was all over the planet?” (Lolth)

“Exactly.” (Yaffe)

“So how are you going to dismantle the entire curse harmlessly in mere minutes?” (Lolth)

“She’s after the core. She wants to literally take control of the Curse and only then systematically deactivate it.” (me)

“You’re both wrong. All curses have different and unique aspects. The same curse will have slightly different characteristics in the hands of two different individuals.” (Yaffe)

“For starters, the core of curses is always the caster of the curse or the target who received the curse.” (Yaffe)

“Dismantling the curse would also be impossible. A ritual of this level is too complex; it would take decades to do something like that, time we don’t have.” (Yaffe)

“So how are you going to handle this ritual?” (me)

“I’ll change the curse’s parameters and then force its activation.” (Yaffe) This chapter was originally posted on *.

Lolth and I act simultaneously, our hands touching her shoulders at the same time. I cannot and will not allow that to happen.

“Don’t get me wrong, I wouldn’t do anything that might displease the entities behind you. I’m trying to get closer, not further from your group.” (Yaffe)

“What are you going to do?” (me)

“I figured the Souls still trapped in this curse, as well as those who became part of the curse while still alive, would be consumed by its activation.” (Lolth)

“That’s why I’m going to change it. This city seems to be a central inflection point and the most suitable place to adjust, control, and activate the curse. That’s why they’re here.” (Yaffe)

“Alone, the most I could achieve would be to paralyze the curse, buy time, and at most, make it explode. But with you two here, the possibilities increase greatly.” (Yaffe)

“What I’ll do will be very different. The Souls here have already been contaminated by the miasma or the curse. I can’t do anything for them. Those still alive are part of the curse itself, so it would be difficult to do anything about the curse without killing them, which would risk destroying their Souls.” (Yaffe)

“(She seeks to reverse the causality, to create something from the chaos, an act to promote herself to Zenos)” (Cortana)

“You want to bring them back? All of them?” (Me)

“She told you, didn’t she?” (Yaffe)

“But yes, this is too great an opportunity to pass up. I’m sure the Twins agree with me and are probably encouraging you to help. Everyone wins.” (Yaffe)

“(Help her, but tell her to accept Bolish’s terms.)” (Cortana)

“We will help, but you must accept Bolish’s terms.” (Me)

“I accept, actually, that’s perfect, now let’s begin.” (Yaffe)

She turned in the direction Zenos was going, and then, as if waiting for her words, a beam of strange energy annihilated space, leaving a blank area in its path. This power was the same as that inside Tarzor.

“I just hope he doesn’t damage the ritual too much, it’ll affect us greatly… that bastard also merged with the ritual!” (Yaffe)

“Are you talking about Raakoy?” (Lolth)

“Yes, he merged with the Ritual and with something on this scale, he’s basically immortal in this place.” (Yaffe)

“Does that change anything in the plan?” (me)

“Not really… but it makes it harder… damn it!” (Yaffe)

She seems disturbed for some reason. Her Aura transforms around her, becoming a nest of snakes, thousands of them writhing together before spreading around the energy dome of this place.

Soon, each of these snakes opens its jaws, and from within, a delicate, ethereal hand surrounded by Serpent symbols extends outward, tumbling onto the energy dome, creating a strange rhythm of disharmony in the surroundings.

“As soon as I speak, I need you to act without delay. We have no time for delays.” (Yaffe)

Pov Zenos:

Applause

Applause! Applause!

I hear a round of applause, and when I look at the source in front of me, I see it’s Raakoy. There’s a translucent hand clapping along with his other remaining hand. Then that translucent hand begins to take shape and color, while the rest of his arm begins to emerge, along with the rest of his body, until he’s whole again.

But this didn’t come out of nowhere. My new eye could see that this newly formed half of his body was created by deforming the curse of this place, which perfectly assimilates with his real body.

“This curse… you’ve merged with this place.” (me)

“This place was literally created by me, it’s part of me, to be controlled as easily as I use my arms… or so it should be… unfortunately, my attention can’t be everywhere.” (Raakoy)

“…” (me)

“Don’t look at me like that. I was the one who had half my body destroyed.” (Raakoy)

He was laughing, but he didn’t take the initiative to attack again. He went back to stalling for time by talking. He’s more cautious with me. He also knows about Tarzor, so he won’t fall for the same trick twice.

“I have no intention of wasting my time with you!” (me)

“< Law of the Apocalypse: Demonic Corrosion >” (me)

Behind my back, seven pairs of wings appeared, like fragments of the night sky. These wings were connected to a silver ring floating behind my back. The power of the Law coursing through my body still felt a bit strange since it had increased so much.

One of the changes I noticed was in the Laws that formed within me. There was a reorganization in them, as well as the creation of new laws. It was as if my Divine power and my Law power had become a reflection of each other.

Thanks to this, it became easier to imitate my previous techniques using the power of the Law, which is what I’m doing now.

My blood flowed through my fingers as a Law Rune formed, looking ancient and bizarre. This apocalyptic Rune formed quickly before flying toward the Star Sword in my hand. Soon, its blade changed once more. The shadow beasts that roamed the blade’s space now looked like visible Demons, lurking ready to attack.

They were Demonic-looking Dragons, all bearing the same Rune I’d just drawn on their foreheads. Their eyes wept blood while their jaws seemed capable of tearing apart space itself. The sword’s blade emitted an Aura that left a sinister trail, as if corrupting the space it touched.

“< Predatory Slash >” (me)

“< Origin Curse: Rise of the Cursed Shadow >” (Raakoy)

Since this was a power I hadn’t yet fully mastered, and using it in battle could pose a danger to myself, I used the same attack again as an experiment in the sword’s effects.

I had a clear intention behind my actions, but knowing how much of my intention was imprinted on the true effect of what I did was a necessity, something I’ll discover with this attack, a glimpse of the difference between before and after.

If before, my sword attack had cut and devoured everything it cut, this time it was a little different. The slashing attack transformed into an ethereal Dragon that attacked Raakoy, releasing corrupting energy wherever it passed, causing space itself to melt along with the cursed energies it contained, all of which were sucked into the blade of the sword, where it was sealed.

The effect was greater than the previous one, and I also discovered that the Dragon was merely a remnant of one of the creatures trapped in the blade, a shadow that attacked on its own, uncontrolled by me, yet still following the Will I had when I attacked.

Raakoy didn’t seem surprised or nervous; he was still laughing, but his eyes seemed to be analyzing what I was doing as well as my attack.

His shadow rose. The shattered muddy creature from before had its pieces sucked into his shadow, forming a shadowy outline of his body, 5 meters tall. His arms and back were covered in purple patterns. His eyes were also purple, and his mouth opened to reveal a flaming purple energy within. He looked more like a mindless beast.

My attack collided with his, and to the surprise of both of us, neither of us achieved victory. Their collision collapsed the space between us, obstructing our vision as both attacks collapsed. My sword vibrated, and shadow particles returned to Raakoy, whose expression was more serious.

Space was restored once more, the cursed streams reconnecting like a body healing, but this time a scar remained, unable to fully recover. Raakoy also had a claw mark on his shoulder, a demonic energy emanating like poison, his presence clearly weakened by the attack.

I could see the cursed energy flow trying to heal this damage, but it couldn’t even penetrate the wound. He was corrupted. That attack wasn’t just on his body; it had also marked his soul; I could feel it.

He wasn’t the only one damaged either. My arm was trembling and filled with pain. I also took damage from this attack. I don’t know if it was more or less damage he suffered, but the important thing is that he wasn’t able to heal again.

“It seems you’re not as immortal as you thought you were!” (me)

“You surprised me, but now…” (Raakoy)

Suddenly, we both looked up at the sky, as did everyone else who was fighting. There, in the planet’s orbit, two creatures were in combat. A Universal Golem was fighting what looked like a hideous insect.
