Wilderness Survival with Druid System
Chapter 1150 Undercurrents Rising
Vikram’s reminder made Chen Wen more vigilant.
Since the Mountain Extreme Challenge, he hadn’t paid much attention to that group of Hunting Owls.
The reason was simple: during the Mountain Extreme Challenge, those poachers had held a high position within the Hunting Owl Organization.
After discussions domestically and internationally, a joint action was taken against the Hunting Owls.
At the time, Vikram told Chen Wen that in that raid, three of the Hunting Owls’ distribution routes and seven or eight Hunting Owl small groups were taken down.
One could say they suffered heavy losses.
And because of this, all members of the Hunting Owls fell silent.
But now, they were starting to stir again.
If they were to be compared to animals, the Hunting Owls were like an angry dog that had been beaten down and retracted its claws.
After retreating, it would either mend its ways and become a good dog, or it was holding back something big!
Naturally, the Hunting Owls wouldn’t turn over a new leaf; they were definitely plotting something big!
After thinking it over, Chen Wen informed a few people who knew he would be participating in the Heat Extreme Challenge, asking them not to spread the word.
The people who knew Chen Wen was joining the Heat Extreme Challenge were all his friends, and some were elders.
They agreed to Chen Wen’s request willingly.
After informing everyone and feeling there were no oversights, Chen Wen finally relaxed.
After staying in the room for a while and reading some news about the Hunting Owls,
Chen Wen left the room and went to the greenhouse.
This greenhouse was built inside Chen Wen’s large villa and was designed for his future children and wife to live in once his child was born.
However, Chen Wen had made some modifications and settled two hunting dog puppies there.
It had temporarily become a nursery for animal cubs.
After Chen Wen entered, the two hunting dog puppies, having grown familiar with him over the past few days, immediately ran over with lively steps.
He casually picked one up, checked its condition, then took up a milk bottle and stuffed it into the puppy’s belly, where it eagerly found a spot and began to drink in big gulps.
The other one, the special one,
After Chen Wen fed its companion, this hunting dog puppy began to whimper in protest.
It continually clawed at Chen Wen’s shoe, trying to climb onto him.
"This little guy’s awareness hasn’t cleared yet; it’s not appropriate to awaken it now, better wait for a while."
Chen Wen muttered to himself, as he placed another bottle in its hold.
After feeding the two hunting dog puppies, Chen Wen sat in the room and started reviewing the information about the Heat Extreme Challenge that Liu Yu had sent over.
In fact, he had already gone through it once.
According to the elders at the association, the biggest danger of the Heat Extreme Challenge is the heat!
Though it might sound like plain talk, it was indeed the truth.
The event occurs from May to August, which is the hottest time for the Libyan Desert.
Especially in July, the average temperature exceeds thirty-five degrees.
During the day, temperatures hover around the forty-degree mark, making it extremely hot.
The second danger is the array of venomous insects, scorpions, and snakes.
The Libyan Desert teems with poisonous creatures, many recognized by humans, but also many that remain unknown.
Very dangerous.
The third danger is the shortage of water.
According to an elder, the initial oasis would dry up by the end of July, even the larger ones were no exception.
Only hidden canyons beneath the surface and some caves would still have water left by the end of July.
He warned newcomers to conserve their water resources carefully.
Having finished the information, Chen Wen had his bearings.
Like previously seen materials, the Heat Extreme Challenge was dangerous, but now, unlike before, there existed a danger posed by human beings.
In summary, while there were threats, Chen Wen nonetheless felt rather confident in his chances.
...
Africa, Maasai Mara.
"Boss, I have two pieces of news, which one do you want to hear first?"
On the other end of the phone, a tranquil voice spoke.
On this end of the phone, a stern-looking white male couldn’t help but say, "Chloe, you’ve contacted me during this time, I hope your news will interest me, otherwise..."
Chloe, the second-in-command of the Hunting Owls, his calm tone wavered slightly, "Let’s not threaten each other, these two pieces of news are about those earlier matters!"
Upon hearing this, Kode, the head of the Hunting Owls, suddenly sat up in bed, "Is it Qiangtang?"
"Yes!"
Chloe took a deep breath and said slowly, "I had someone bribe a mid-level manager over in the reserve, and they told me a name."
"Who!"
kode’s gaze fixated unblinkingly on an ornament placed on the table; it was a wooden lion carving, once Kode’s favorite.
Through gritted teeth, Chloe spat out two Chinese characters: "Chen Wen!"
"Him again!"
Kode fiercely gripped the ornament, smashing it against the table, severing the head of the lion figure.
He roared in anger, "Why is this person still alive! How does trouble follow wherever he goes, and why do our men encounter issues wherever he appears?!"
Chloe sighed, "Actually, our conflicts with Chen Wen stem from a previous order you gave, remember?"
Hearing this, Kode’s rage paused momentarily.
But he still cursed, "Damn it, these underlings are useless! Enough, let’s drop this topic, I’ll make sure this man meets a gruesome end. Now, tell me the second matter!"
Chloe, upon hearing this, let out a rare chuckle.
He continued leisurely, "The second matter also concerns Chen Wen. This person is participating in the Eight Extremes Challenge, right? After some investigation, I found out his next survival will be in Africa."
Africa?
Kode was momentarily stunned, but quickly began to laugh heartily, though veiled with a sinister chill, "Good! I’ll show him who’s the true ruler of this land! The farce is about to end!"
Chloe acknowledged this but added, "Though, he’s headed to a place we might not reach. I heard it’s in the north, near the Sahara, specifically the eastern Sahara, and that’s not our territory."
Upon hearing this, Kode’s brow furrowed slightly.
While the Hunting Owl Organization was reputedly the strongest poaching group in Africa, the Sahara region had a group that wasn’t any less strong.
The opposing group held sway over the Sahara; the Hunting Owls were repulsed every time they ventured there.
As a result, Kode had stopped paying attention to that area.
He wasn’t exactly enemies with them, but certainly not friends either.
Kode said, "If it’s there, we really can’t reach it, particularly since that guy is eager to swallow us and proclaim themselves the biggest poaching group in Africa."
"So."
Chloe proposed, "I plan to seek your opinion, if you agree, we can spare some funds. I’ll bribe a few of his subordinates, those who’ve had dealings with us before, to persuade that person to kill Chen Wen."
"Besides, I have some connections with the local military heads, some of whom are willing to act, those bandits have weapons and are quite strapped for cash."
Hearing this, a cunning glimmer flashed in Kode’s eyes, "I see, go ahead and execute it. I will cooperate with you."
"Excellent."
Chloe chuckled, "This time, with both sides attacking, it’s hard for Chen Wen to survive!"
Kode also laughed, "Within three months at the latest, I want to see Chen Wen’s body, preferably with half of its weight in bullets. Keep his head intact, I want to make a skull cup out of it."
"As you wish."
