Wilderness Survival with Druid System
Chapter 1147 Moose
Drinking alcohol, eating meat, chatting occasionally, and finally indulging in some canned corn kernels, cheese, and canned fruit as dessert.
Chen Wen patted his swollen belly in satisfaction and said, "This was a great meal, the most satisfying one I’ve had in days!"
Abroad, Chen Wen’s approach to meals was always pretty casual.
He would just order whatever takeout was available nearby, never having anything particular in mind.
So his recent meals had been quite ordinary.
Hearing this, Hua Yun nodded as well, "Yes, I feel like both guides have pretty good cooking skills."
The Dog Driving Guide chuckled and said, "I’m just the assistant, the real chef is him."
The Hunter guide laughed proudly, "When it comes to hunting, I’m not as good as him, but when it comes to processing game, I’m the best!"
This made Chen Wen nod; he felt the guide wasn’t exaggerating.
Chen Wen said, "I actually have an idea, you could try a survival challenge, and I’ve already thought of a title, ’A Hunter and a Chef’s Wilderness Challenge,’ wouldn’t that title be catchy?"
The Hunter guide laughed it off and didn’t take it to heart.
But Fred seemed thoughtful, nodding, "You know, that title is quite interesting; at the very least, it makes me want to watch. Does anyone in our survival circle produce something similar?"
Everyone shook their heads; they hadn’t heard of anything like it.
Gaston, beside them, was quick to catch on and said, "That title does have potential. If we could get investment, we might actually try it, and perhaps produce a hit!"
Chen Wen hadn’t expected his offhand remark to garner such attention.
It reminded him of a survival reality show he’d watched in a previous life, hence the casual comment.
He was quite surprised that no one in this world had produced a reality show like that.
Chen Wen thought for a moment and said, "If someone wants to film it, I can invest; I think a show with such a hook wouldn’t look bad."
Roland, hearing this, laughed and said, "Why not, invest yourself, direct yourself, and play the lead; you could be the hunter. Find a survival enthusiast with good cooking skills or a gourmet chef who enjoys survival, and with your fame, I think the show could surpass the ratings of Alone in the Wilderness."
Upon hearing this, Chen Wen waved his hand with a smile, "Come off it, I plan to retire right after completing the Eight Extremes Challenge, so I might invest in this idea but definitely won’t put in any extra effort."
Everyone burst into laughter.
Seems like Chen Wen’s lazy nature hasn’t changed at all!
After having their fill of food and drink,
the two guides started cleaning up.
Chen Wen and the others didn’t just sit around; after a meal, a bit of activity is a must.
They helped clean the campsite too.
Once the campsite was clean again, everyone washed their hands and faces, feeling refreshed and ready to chat around the campfire.
The two guides went to rest by the camper.
They were going to take the night watch later, so they didn’t plan to join in.
Chen Wen sat by the campfire; while everyone was chatting among themselves, he pulled Gaston aside to practice Arabic.
Hua Yun seemed to be handling matters for the association, tapping rapidly on her phone without looking up for a long time.
Adam and Roland were still drinking with Fred, seemingly determined to finish all the remaining alcohol.
After practicing speaking for a while, Chen Wen suddenly sighed.
"This is really tough! I’m taking a break."
Gaston, beside him, said helplessly, "Language requires perseverance, Chen Wen."
Chen Wen shook his head again, "That’s what they say, but doing it is really tough. Let’s just chat and take a rest for now."
Seeing that Chen Wen really didn’t want to study, Gaston said, "Alright then, let’s chat for a bit."
The group chatted away about anything and everything, creating a great atmosphere.
They talked until late at night before calling it a night.
...
The next day.
After a simple clean-up, they continued hunting.
On this new day, Chen Wen felt he could fire two more shots to see how his practice had paid off.
As they followed the route provided by the guide, it wasn’t long before the hounds stirred.
As the first hound made the sound of discovering prey, everyone’s attention sharpened.
Soon, the Dog Driving Guide was directing everyone towards the prey.
This time, it was Chen Wen and Hua Yun’s turn to hunt, and both of them raised their guns simultaneously, aiming at the distant prey.
This was a herd of moose.
Possibly the largest deer they’d encountered.
Chen Wen swapped for Roland’s gun, specifically designed for hunting moose, very powerful.
Steadily holding the gun, he aimed at the moose leisurely strolling through the woods.
Chen Wen took slow, deep breaths.
Moose are different; they have large body mass and aren’t easy to hit in the vital spots. Normally, if using a spear, Chen Wen would prepare and aim for a vital spot, gathering strength beforehand.
But this time, after roughly locking onto the moose’s vital spot, Chen Wen pulled the trigger.
Bang!
A dull thud.
The moose let out a loud cry, its front two legs shot up, trying to flee to the side.
But before it could get far, a wave of weakness washed over it, and the moose fell to the ground.
"That quick? Did you hit the heart?"
The Dog Driving Guide asked in surprise.
Hua Yun, on the other side, had also fired along with Chen Wen.
But her shot was a bit off. Though it hit another moose, it didn’t hit a vital spot.
That moose was still lively, fleeing into the distance.
Seeing this, the Dog Driving Guide signaled the hounds to pursue.
However, just as he gestured for the hounds to go,
that fleeing moose unexpectedly turned around and charged towards the hounds.
This was a male moose; although its antlers had fallen off, its weight was undeniable.
Witnessing the moose charge, the Dog Driving Guide was momentarily stunned.
It seemed like his first experience with such an encounter.
But during his brief distraction, the moose had already reached the pack of hounds.
Facing the charging moose, the hounds showed no fear.
They pounced aggressively, trying to intimidate the moose with their barks and attacks.
But perhaps angered by its wounds, the moose showed no intention of retreating. Instead, it let out angry roars, coming close to the hounds.
With its massive hooves raised, it stomped down hard.
The moose’s stomp crushed a sleek and healthy Black Forest hound beneath its hooves.
The hound let out a wail, causing its companions some panic.
Around this time, Chen Wen sprang into action.
