Wilderness Survival with Druid System
Chapter 1133: Unexpected Danger
After reviewing these cases, Chen Wen basically understood the core of the Heat Extreme Challenge.
In a brutal environment, face brutal peers and survive for a hundred days!
Remember, the Heat Extreme Challenge has no teammates, make sure to remember this!
Chen Wen thought to himself, and at that moment, someone knocked on the door of his hotel room.
Chen Wen peeked through the peephole and saw it was Hua Yun.
He opened the door and Hua Yun came in carrying some food.
“This is domestic food that my assistant, Miss Luo, bought from the local Chinese community. Your two assistants are busy with your animal-related matters, so she asked me to bring you some.”
Hua Yun said as she placed the items on the cabinet by the door.
Chen Wen smiled and said, “Please thank Miss Luo for me, she’s very thoughtful.”
Hearing this, Hua Yun replied somewhat grumpily, “And you’re not thanking me for carrying all this stuff and walking a few kilometers to bring it to you?”
“Ahaha, of course, thank you too.”
Chen Wen said, inviting Hua Yun inside.
Seeing the documents on Chen Wen’s table, Hua Yun immediately became interested.
She leafed through them with a “just as I thought” expression, “Looks like you finally chose the Heat Extreme Challenge. Brave move!”
Upon hearing this, Chen Wen waved his hand nonchalantly, “Not really, mainly because the timing of the challenge is just right, and the intensity is quite suitable.”
Putting the documents back on the table, Hua Yun said: “This time I won’t be going with you. I need to return home to handle some matters, and I also need to prepare for the next survival challenge.”
Chen Wen nodded; he was already aware of this.
But Hua Yun continued, “However, I do have some news about the Heat Extreme Challenge. Do you want to hear it?”
“Sure, it never hurts to listen.”
Chen Wen was intrigued.
He was eager to learn more about the Heat Extreme Challenge.
Upon hearing this, Hua Yun took out her phone.
She browsed through her chat application and looked at the chat history.
Watching this, Chen Wen couldn’t help but comment, “Chat logs, I guess I have no choice but to believe it.”
Hua Yun shook her phone and said, “Don’t underestimate chat logs; they often contain valuable information, especially for us survivors.”
“In short, this is from a participant who once took part in the Heat Extreme Challenge. She passed last time, so she’s like a senior to us. I chatted with her before, and according to her, there’s a region with local guerrillas during the Heat Extreme Challenge, and those people are dangerous.”
“She once saw guerrilla members from a distance, did not approach them, but they still fired warning shots to keep her away.”
Hearing this, Chen Wen couldn’t help but say, “Guerrillas? Are you kidding? Do such last-century organizations still exist?”
Upon hearing this, Hua Yun showed a “just as I thought” expression, “Finally figured out your weak spot, huh? You don’t pay much attention to international situations!”
“Let me put it this way, we live in a peaceful country now, but it’s definitely not a peaceful era. There are still many conflicts in places we don’t know about.”
Chen Wen frowned upon hearing this.
He knew that wars still exist in the world, but he didn’t expect them to be so close to affecting his survival efforts.
“I know these things, just didn’t expect the Eight Extremes Challenge to be affected.”
Chen Wen shook his head, somewhat helpless.
Hua Yun smiled and continued, “Not only is there an impact, but more than one Eight Extremes Challenge is affected. I remember two or three challenges that might encounter various armed organizations.”
“Not to mention others; just talk about this Sahara survival. The area we’re going to is the Eastern Sahara, which is actually two deserts, the Libyan Desert and the Ténéré Desert. If it’s the Libyan Desert, it’s in the eastern part of Libya, part of it in Egypt.”
“Libya as a country is still in transition, with political turmoil and frequent violent incidents. That’s how these guerrillas form.”
Chen Wen hesitated, “It seems the danger level will increase again. I didn’t expect this before—I thought only relatively stable places would have the Eight Extremes Challenge.”
In response to this, Hua Yun said, “It’s not unstable. In fact, when we go, we have contact with the locals. As long as we don’t actively approach them and choose to detour, there won’t be any issues.”
Chen Wen memorized Hua Yun’s words carefully.
Hua Yun continued, “Though there are quite a few risks posed by locals, at the same time, we can also get help from them. Also, the Libyan Desert is home to many nomads whose tribes mostly speak an Arab-Berber dialect. If you can learn some basic phrases, you can receive help from these friendly people.”
“This senior is very skilled in learning languages; she learned some basic everyday expressions before she went. Later, interacting with them, she tagged along with a camel convoy, traveled with them for days, and finally reached an oasis where no other participants were surviving, and completed the challenge.”
Chen Wen couldn’t help but ask, “Is she that bold, daring to follow strangers alone?”
Hua Yun laughed and said, “Of course, this senior is very skilled, and the locals are quite friendly to outsiders. As long as you’re not looking for trouble or clashing with their beliefs, they’re happy to offer some help.”
“According to that senior, people in the desert aren’t stingy with an outstretched hand when they can, because the more people they help, the greater the chance they receive help themselves.”
“Alright then.”
Chen Wen nodded and said, “Although I’m not great at learning languages, it seems I need to pick up this foreign language after all!”
With that, Chen Wen began to look up the Arab-Berber dialect Hua Yun mentioned.
But when Chen Wen found the script for this language, he was taken aback.
“What is this!”
Chen Wen looked at those lines and couldn’t help saying, “It’s not Chinese characters, not the kind of Han-derived characters like Japanese or Korean, not even the English alphabet, and not Russian either!”
“My God, I don’t mean any offense, but do these lines really have meaning?”
Hua Yun couldn’t help but laugh at this.
She patted Chen Wen’s shoulder and comforted him, “Find a tutorial and learn slowly. If it doesn’t work, I’ll give you this senior’s contact. You can learn from her. She’s currently studying languages and also teaching students, so one more shouldn’t be a problem.”
Upon hearing this, Chen Wen quickly clasped his hands together, “Please! Make sure to give me that senior’s contact!”
