Chapter 593: Chapter 373: Enlightenment: Rudimentary Burning Steel Soul Domain II

Han Ning received his assignment and set to work without a moment’s delay.

He immediately climbed onto Egg Pancake’s back, blueprints in hand, and flew toward the designated area 500 kilometers from the reconstruction zone.

Here, a vast desert stretched out before them.

It was afternoon, and the sun beat down on the land. Rising heat formed distorted ripples in the air.

Such an environment was incredibly difficult for ordinary people or young, weak Soul Beasts to survive in.

Now, they were going to transform the very landscape—to turn sand into forest!

"Egg Pancake, follow my spiritual projection and raise a massive stone mountain range, three hundred kilometers long and about eight thousand meters high."

As he spoke, Han Ning sent out his spiritual power, which formed a thin line stretching from his position into the far distance.

Though spiritual power was formless and incorporeal, to Egg Pancake’s senses, the line was as conspicuous as a streak of red paint.

"SCREE!!"

Carrying Han Ning, it immediately descended to the ground. Aligning itself with the projected spiritual line, it swung its claws and slammed them into the boundless sea of sand.

RUMBLE!

It was like a peal of thunder descending from the heavens.

Rich, highly compressed Earth Element coalesced from all directions. It began as brown boulders, which then linked together, forming immense, unified mountain ranges that jutted up from beneath the earth and grew ever upward.

The earth quaked and the mountains shook.

As a Monarch IV, Egg Pancake possessed terrifying Power, enough to destroy an entire continent.

For a being like Egg Pancake, creating a mountain range from nothing was a trivial matter—as easy as pie.

In less than a few minutes, the silhouette of a continuous mountain range materialized from nothing, appearing on the horizon of Han Ning’s vision.

The brown mountain range was bare and utterly devoid of life.

It wasn’t beautiful, but it served its purpose. Moisture-laden air blowing in from the sea was now blocked by the mountains, allowing it to accumulate over the desert.

Over time, this would lead to rainfall, nourishing the land.

Next, Han Ning directed Egg Pancake to unleash its Flame.

BOOM!

Light from the conflagration flared, and hundreds of square kilometers of desert were instantly transformed into a fiery Purgatory.

Egg Pancake precisely controlled the towering waves of fire, keeping them contained within the burning area with not so much as a wisp escaping.

Even the crowd of onlookers standing outside the Green Tear Oasis, watching the desert burn dozens of kilometers away, felt no trace of scorching heat on their skin.

Vast quantities of sand were incinerated by the Demon Fire into a vitrified, glassy state, which Egg Pancake then controlled, gathering it high in the sky.

As everyone watched, a second sun seemed to appear in midair. An endless stream of fiery sand flew up from all directions, gathering into an ever-growing, burning sphere.

Gradually, the ground sank by several dozen meters as nearly all the sand was lifted into the sky by Egg Pancake.

Egg Pancake then intensified the heat, continuing to roast the vitrified sphere.

CRACKLE...

Finally, the massive sphere of molten glass was completely incinerated by the Demon Fire, breaking down into the finest particles and vanishing into the air.

"What astonishing power. Back on Blue Star, if you wanted to transform a desert spanning hundreds of kilometers into an oasis, you’d need a technological revolution. You’d have to develop nuclear fusion and pour massive amounts of energy into slowly reversing desertification. Even then, it wouldn’t be anything like this brute-force terraforming."

A few of the more learned elders looked up at the empty depression where the fireball had vanished, their faces etched with awe.

The continental shelf beneath the Withered Desert was stable enough that even with a massive amount of sand removed, the ground didn’t suffer any large-scale collapse.

This region had been specially scouted by a team from the Tri-Race Alliance. It had no major ore deposits and a stable structure, making it perfect for building a city.

Beneath the sand lay a crisscrossing network of hard bedrock, underground streams that were a source of Life, and countless weak Soul Beasts that made their home there.

During the process of clearing the sand, countless Soul Beasts tumbled out and fell to the ground below. Egg Pancake demonstrated exquisite Flame Manipulation, avoiding every single fleeing Soul Beast and incinerating only the sand.

Having lost their homes, these Soul Beasts stared in confusion at the barren earth.

Their kind had lived in the desert for generations and were long accustomed to its harsh environment.

Some groups of desert Soul Beasts, startled, fled toward the oasis or the desert farther away.

Others stood rooted to the spot, unsure of what to do.

Han Ning tossed a ring-shaped storage Soul Artifact to Egg Pancake.

"Excellent. Now fill it in. Be careful to protect these Soul Beasts and avoid mass casualties. Begin."

"SCREE!"

Egg Pancake caught the Soul Artifact, and with a thought...

WHOOSH...

A massive volume of dark brown soil rained down from the sky, filling the depression in the ground.

This was a vast quantity of fertile soil that Han Ning had purchased from the Steel Elephant Race, taken from their richest lands, perfect for cultivating all kinds of Spiritual Plants.

Soil condensed from Egg Pancake’s Earth Element would have been worse than sand; it would contain no living organisms and lack the necessary chemical properties, rendering it completely useless for planting.

This soil, however, was rich with microorganisms and the waste and remains of various Soul Beasts—everything needed to create a vast expanse of fertile black earth.

WHOOSH...

The sky rained black, a shower of rich "black gold."

The rain of black earth fell for the better part of a day. Under Han Ning’s direction, Egg Pancake didn’t rush, but instead ensured every particle of soil precisely filled the massive crater.

By the time the sky cleared the next day, the golden desert of yesterday was already history.

The members of the Tri-Race Alliance could only see a vast expanse of fertile, black earth.
