Wilderness: I Tame Beasts to Survive
Chapter 584 - 368: Finalizing the Plan, Production Lines at Full Capacity
Chapter 584: Chapter 368: Finalizing the Plan, Production Lines at Full Capacity
Cracks began to appear on the silvery-white Shield.
"MRRUUH?!"
The Steel Armored Elephant looked panicked and hurriedly increased its Spiritual Energy output.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
The barrage lasted for a full minute before gradually ceasing.
The Shield in front of the Steel Armored Elephant was already riddled with holes, and its body was peppered with countless bullet holes.
Fortunately, the bullets that penetrated the Shield had been weakened and hadn’t caused much damage.
The Lord Soul Crystal embedded in the groove had only consumed a third of its energy.
"You’ve all seen the effect. I didn’t move the entire time. The weapon did all the targeting and firing on its own."
Han Ning stood beside the Iron-Toothed Elephant, his hands clasped behind his back, and smiled at the crowd.
Silence!
A strange silence fell over the area.
After a full minute of silence, Gang Long finally let out a long sigh.
"I want all of these weapons. Han Ning, my friend, please contact your people as soon as possible and invite them to be guests of my Steel Elephant Tribe. I, as the great Chieftain of the Steelhoof Tribe, guarantee that you and all your people will receive the highest level of protection from our Steel Elephant Tribe!"
"I’ll have to return and discuss this with my companions, but I don’t think it will be an issue." Han Ning bowed politely, thanking Gang Long for his goodwill, then stated his second proposal.
"Chief Gang Long, if our cooperation proves fruitful, I have a rather bold request to make."
"Go on."
"If we successfully seize the development rights to the ruins, would it be possible for my people and me to receive a share of the resources from inside?"
"How much do you want?" Gang Long’s expression remained unchanged.
"We’re not asking for much. Including the services provided for the cooperation between the Bobo Family and the Steel Elephants, we’d like about five percent. This is all on the condition that you win the war. If the outcome is anything else, then consider it unsaid," Han Ning stated.
The Steel Elephant Tribe was, after all, a people numbering over 200,000 Steel Elephant People.
For the Bobo Family and the Tri-Race Alliance, five percent of the resources from the ruins would be an incredible windfall.
After all, the opposing Flame Pig Clan numbered over 800,000.
"Five percent... I need to discuss this with the other Chieftains. I’ll give you an answer as soon as I can." Gang Long neither immediately agreed nor refused.
For now, the two sides had only made verbal promises. The true partnership would require the Chieftains of the Steel Elephant Race, along with the leadership of the Bobo Family and the Tri-Race Alliance, to sit down together and sign a Spiritual Contract. Only then would the cooperation be finalized.
In the time that followed, Han Ning continued to demonstrate the use and effectiveness of other weapons to Gang Long.
As a Chieftain accustomed to grand spectacles, Gang Long’s expression remained relatively calm.
Gang Sasi, being a young Priest, wasn’t nearly as composed. He caressed the weapons Han Ning displayed as if soothing a beautiful woman, eager to immediately haul them to the front lines and mercilessly slaughter those filthy, stinking pigs!
As for the two youngsters, Steel Ka’er and Gang Lifen, they were completely captivated by Han Ning’s phone. They sat shoulder-to-shoulder on the stone steps in a corner, endlessly swiping through a beauty filter app.
Once the weapon demonstration concluded, Gang Long, after getting Han Ning’s permission, stored all the display weapons in his storage Soul Artifact. Then, he hastily summoned his Soul Beast and rushed off to discuss acquiring the weapons with the other Chieftains.
Only Gang Sasi remained behind to host them.
"Han Ning, about those weapons of yours... could you sell some to my Holy Crystal Race?"
After Gang Long had left, the cold and beautiful Ruiyue quietly approached.
"Oh? A race as powerful as the Holy Crystal Race needs this sort of thing?" Han Ning chuckled, glancing at the angry expression on the young man standing behind her.
"This is no time for jokes. The Holy Crystal Race may be powerful, but against the Barbaric Beasts, we merely trade victories. If it’s something they need, then we naturally need it too."
Ruiyue no longer wore the arrogant expression she’d had back at the Dragon Palace, though her face was still a bit stiff as she spoke.
"Let’s discuss this later. I promised Chief Gang Long that the weapons wouldn’t be sold to any other race until the war between the Steel Elephants and the Flame Boars is over."
’If I sell the weapons to other races ahead of schedule, and a traitor among them turns around and sells them to the Flame Boars, it would put me in an impossible position.’
"I understand."
...
And so, under Gang Sasi’s warm hospitality, Han Ning and his companions took up residence in the small tribe known as Grey Stone.
This small tribe, under the jurisdiction of the Steelhoof Tribe, was located very close to the front lines and served as an important supply station.
Gang Sasi arranged the best available housing for them, with more than ten tall guards providing round-the-clock protection.
Back in his luxurious assigned room, Han Ning took out his Blood Jade Silkworm phone to inform Dean Wu and the others, who were far away on another continent, of the events that had transpired with the Steel Elephant Tribe.
Dean Wu and his team hadn’t expected Han Ning to move so fast. Their own people had only just arrived locally and hadn’t even had a chance to act, yet Han Ning had already completed the preliminary negotiations.
"Yes, I understand," came Dean Wu’s affirmative voice from the other end of the Silkworm phone. "Regardless of whether we end up settling in the Withered Desert, we have to land this weapons order. I’ll have most of our personnel return at once, leaving only a few sharp people behind to continue gathering intelligence."
At the same time, Bobo Man ordered the Vast Sea Profound Turtle Fleet to depart from the Deep Sea, beyond the territory of the Barbaric Beast Race. With Gang Sasi acting as their pilot and guide, they began the journey into the lands of the Steel Elephant Tribe.
「Two days later.」
On the outskirts of the Grey Stone Tribe.
A snow-white Giant Whale, over 2,000 meters long, suddenly materialized in the empty sky and descended to the ground with a deafening thud.
Han Ning, Gang Sasi, and the others, who were already waiting, hurried forward to greet them.
After the two parties introduced themselves, a visibly excited Dean Wu affectionately grabbed the towering Gang Sasi by the arm, insisting on taking him into the Yunlan Space to tour the weapons production line they had expanded overnight.
Inside a white-walled area in the northeast corner of the Yunlan Space.
"Priest Gang Sasi, this is our machine cannon production line. We only have one at the moment, but if you want more, we can work through the night to expand our material supply lines and ramp up to full-speed production for you!"
Dean Wu beamed, pointing to a nearby semi-automatic, semi-manual metal production line.
Due to a lack of knowledge in automated assembly, many sections of the production line had to be operated by more intelligent Soul Beasts.
Tasks like tightening screws were too simple for intelligent humans, but they were a perfect fit for the less intelligent Soul Beasts.
"Heh heh, Dean Wu, please don’t be so hasty. I’ve just received orders from the Chieftains. For now, each tribe will start by producing 3,000 sets of individual soldier weaponry, 6,000 RPGs, and 3,000 machine cannons... We’ll deploy these on the battlefield to observe their effectiveness before considering further procurement."
The individual soldier weaponry for the Steel Elephant Race was a package Dean Wu had designed overnight specifically for the Steel Elephant People.
The package included a complete set of weapons suitable for a low to mid-level Beast Master: an automatic rifle, a sniper rifle, grenades, tactical goggles, Anti-Spiritual Power equipment, a Spiritual Ability Detection Combat Suit, a tactical drone, and more.
The Steel Elephant Race had a total of three massive tribes, with the Steelhoof Tribe holding the most authority. At 3,000 sets per tribe, that totaled 9,000 sets of weapons.
Combined with the various heavy armaments, the Tri-Race Alliance was certainly going to have its hands full for a while.
"We can do that, but... manufacturing these weapons will require massive amounts of metal and rare earth minerals."
Gang Sasi waved his hand magnanimously.
"Just make a list. Describe what you need using the continental Universal tongue, and I’ll have people gather it. If there’s one thing we’re not short on here, it’s metal and earth. You can have as much as you want."
"That’s wonderful to hear." Hearing this, Dean Wu’s face lit up with a joyous smile.
In the past, in godforsaken places like the Deep Sea and Night Nether City, mining for metal had been exceptionally difficult.
The Deep Sea was actually rich in mineral deposits, but it was an arduous task for Beast Masters and most land-based Soul Beasts to mine while withstanding the immense water pressure.
