Chapter 574: Chapter 363: Huaimiao’s First Battle (Part 2)

The Wujin Pig King before them was like a helpless child.

A pair of giant hands covered in golden patterns gripped the Wujin Pig King’s neck as if it were a baby chick.

TZZZZZ~

Pitch-black plasma surged, making the entire battlefield look as though a Demon God had descended.

WHOOSH~

Dense arcs of black lightning flashed one after another.

The vision of the surrounding spectators blurred, and a pained wail echoed from the battlefield.

By the time they rubbed their eyes and came to their senses, Huaimiao, panting heavily and drenched in sweat, had returned to its normal form. It hoisted up the Wujin Pig King—whose limbs were twisted at unnatural angles and whose body was charred black and unconscious—and tossed it in front of Chi Ya.

"You... You!"

Chi Ya’s eyes widened, his expression complex.

He couldn’t believe that in just a single exchange, the Wujin Pig King, which had held the advantage only moments ago, had been knocked unconscious and defeated.

Huaimiao looked down on Chi Ya and let out two strange cries. It grabbed the Wujin Pig King’s thick leg and, like a spinning fan, swung its body around with great force before smashing it down toward Chi Ya’s head.

BOOM!!

A deafening roar resounded within the battlefield, and a powerful shockwave rippled outward.

"HUFF... HUFF... HUFF..."

The smoke dissipated.

Chi Ya’s eyes were bloodshot as he stared ahead, his heart still pounding with fear.

A massive boar, wielding a Warhammer in both hands and wreathed in brilliant yellow flames, had firmly blocked Huaimiao’s attack.

"Did you all see that just now? Was I seeing things? A giant dozens of meters tall appeared in the arena?!"

"You didn’t see wrong, I saw it too! Could it be an Ancient Beast?" The spectators in the stands chattered amongst themselves.

"And you live in Lion City? How can you even say something like ’Ancient Beast’..." his companion said with contempt.

"Nicely done. Your control over Muscle Activation is getting more and more skillful. Go back and rest for now," Han Ning praised, recalling Huaimiao to its Soul Beast Space.

Muscle Activation was an inspiration Han Ning had gotten from Egg Pancake’s Ancient Dragon Form.

By using lightning to stimulate its muscle groups, Huaimiao could unleash astonishing power in a short burst. It was a little trick Han Ning had discovered while training Huaimiao recently, one that could be activated and deactivated at will.

However, each use consumed a massive amount of Physical Strength and Spiritual Energy and placed a great strain on its body, so it couldn’t be used frequently.

The upside was that it could be used as a trump card in battle.

From the looks of it, the limit of Huaimiao’s ability was defeating a Monarch I Soul Beast. Anything stronger than that, and it would struggle.

After all, there was a huge gulf between the Lord and Monarch levels. It could barely contend by relying on its Talent, which was an entire grade higher than its opponent’s, and its half-formed Divine Weapon.

"Why haven’t you summoned another Soul Beast?"

Seeing Huaimiao disappear and Han Ning make no move to summon another Soul Beast, a malicious smile reappeared on Chi Ya’s face.

"Could it be... you have no more Soul Beasts to summon?"

"No. There’s simply no need to continue this fight."

Han Ning shook his head, his gaze calm as he watched Chi Ya. A wisp of illusory white flame flickered in his dark eyes.

"Ugh..."

In the blink of an eye, both Chi Ya and his Soul Beast were engulfed in illusory white flames. In perfect sync, the two pigs clutched their heads and collapsed to the ground, writhing in agony.

"Our grudge is settled. As the Priest of the Flame Pig Clan, I hope you keep your promise."

Han Ning didn’t even want to summon Yin Yi or Egg Pancake for an enemy who wasn’t even on the same level.

Chi Ya was simply not worthy.

He glanced at the speechless, pain-wracked Chi Ya and left the battlefield.

...

He had only taken a few steps off the battlefield when a clear, peculiar voice called out from behind him.

"Big Brother, wait!"

Han Ning turned and saw that it was Gang Lifen.

"Yes?" he asked, stopping and offering a friendly smile.

Although he wanted to deepen his relationship with the Steel Elephant Tribe, he understood the principle of taking things slow. Being too eager would arouse their suspicion.

"Big Brother Han Ning, I didn’t get a chance to tell you earlier. I’d like to order a batch of potions that can quickly heal Soul Beast injuries on behalf of my tribe," Gang Lifen stated his purpose.

"How many are you looking to buy? If it’s ten or twenty vials, I can see what I can do."

Potent healing potions were a signature product of the Bobo Family. Any collaboration would have to be with them; he would, at most, be a middleman. What he truly valued was the opportunity to befriend the Steel Elephant Family.

Bobo Man couldn’t be bothered to show up for such a minor matter, so Han Ning had to handle it himself.

"How many do you have? A few hundred vials, I’d say... They need to be effective on Monarch Soul Beasts, at least," Gang Lifen said after a moment of thought.

"A few hundred vials?!" Han Ning’s expression flickered upon hearing Gang Lifen’s words.

’This kid wants so many. Could something special be happening within the Steel Elephant Tribe?’

"Little brother, this is an elemental wound repair potion. Your Steel Elephant Tribe doesn’t usually raise Elemental Soul Beasts, right? Your Holy Steel Mammoth is an exception."

"An elemental repair potion? So it can’t heal the injuries of regular Soul Beasts? My clansmen need them." Gang Lifen blinked, a hint of confusion on his face.

"If you want to heal Beast Type injuries, you should buy Beast Type Healing Potions. They have a very strong healing effect on the physical bodies of flesh-and-blood Soul Beasts."

Han Ning fumbled in his clothes for a moment and, as if by magic, produced a bottle of Beast Type Healing Potion.

These were things Bobo Man had casually given him before, handing them out like candy.

Han Ning tossed the potion to him. "If you don’t believe me, you can take this back and try it out first. Come find me to buy more once you see the results. Consider this bottle a free sample."

"Oh... thank you." Gang Lifen shook the bottle, curiously eyeing the viscous red liquid inside.

"If you’re serious about buying, you can come find me tonight at Lion’s Villa. The address is..." Han Ning recited Shi Zhou’s address.

"I know that place! It’s Commander Shi Zhou’s home," Gang Lifen’s eyes lit up.

...

After the incident with the Flame Pig Clan, the group lost their mood for strolling through Lion City. They met up with Bobo Man, Lin Tianhe, and Ah Yu, wandered around the city a bit more, and then returned to Shi Zhou’s residence.

Back at their lodging, Han Ning summoned all five of his little companions—Yin Yi, Egg Pancake, Fei Lin, and Huaimiao from his Soul Beast Space, and the All-Encompassing Spiritual Silkworm from within his body—and let them play freely.

The Little Fatty Silkworm transformed into Egg Pancake’s favorite anime-style Little Witch and followed Egg Pancake Gege around like a shadow.

That’s right. Egg Pancake was no longer into little female dragons; now, it appreciated the Little Witch with her Dragon Race-style horns.

Without disturbing the five little ones at play, Han Ning ducked into Bobo Man’s room next door, intending to discuss the potion deal with him.

"Several hundred vials of potions capable of healing Monarch Soul Beasts? That’s quite a number. I haven’t heard of any wars involving the Steel Elephant Tribe, have you?" Bobo Man set down the research instrument in his hands and pushed up his rimless glasses.

The rimless glasses served no practical purpose; they were purely for decoration.

Bobo Man wore them because he thought they gave him a certain flair.

"Could it be from their conflict with the Flame Pig Clan?"

"Possibly. Even I know that the Steel Elephants and the Flame Boars constantly fight over territory. The feud between the two tribes has lasted for millennia. That’s common knowledge, hardly an unexpected development. Perhaps the conflict has just intensified, which we got a glimpse of this afternoon."

"A few hundred vials of potions is no big deal. We’ll do it the old way: the Bobo Family will sell them to your Tri-Race Alliance at a price below market value, and you can decide the rest," Bobo Man said with a wave of his tentacles, his tone casual.

Bobo Man intended for the Tri-Race Alliance to become their nominal distributor. This way, the Tri-Race Alliance could acquire numerous resources and establish connections with various other groups.

The Bobo Family, in turn, would be spared the trouble of dealing with all sorts of people.

In the past, this role had been filled by the Sea Goddess Race. Now that the two had parted ways, it naturally fell to the Tri-Race Alliance.

"Alright. I’ve arranged to meet with him later to discuss it further."
