Chapter 564: Chapter 358: Admission to the Academy, Entering the Continent (Part 2)
"In order to ensure the stability of the Tri-Race Alliance, we’ve screened out those with flawed personalities or extremist ideologies. They’ve been placed under house arrest in the Seeking Knowledge Garden, where we will have colleagues with Illusion Type Soul Beasts use Spiritual Hypnosis to correct their flawed dispositions."
"This group accounts for about 5% of the total."
"Additionally, according to our inquiries, the very first group of humans to arrive on the Insect Continent were the transmigrators from that cruise ship. They were abducted early on by the Insect Masters of the Cyan God Armor Family."
"After many twists and turns, they became slaves to some of the Insect Master Families. When we found them, they had already been transformed into Insect-men. Our biological research team is currently trying to figure out how to remove their insectoid features and turn them back into humans."
"Aside from these very few individuals, the earliest transmigrators to the Insect Continent arrived about three years ago... and were similarly transformed into Insect Servants by the Insect-men."
"Finally, we got the full details of their transmigration. After we left the Insect Continent, about ten more groups of humans arrived there one after another. They came from different countries and regions, with their time of arrival locked to within one or two days of our own."
"Some of these humans, like us, have formed relatively simple resistance alliances. Others have been reduced to slaves of the Insect-men... and some have even formed Beast Master squads, wandering the Insect Continent and struggling to survive."
Dean Wu said with considerable surprise as he flipped through the papers.
Han Ning was mostly aware of this situation. When he had rescued everyone, a sweep of his Spiritual Power had given him a general understanding of what was happening below.
"I have a question. After the continent fractured and broke away from the main landmass, did the people who subsequently transmigrated to the fragments of the Insect Continent no longer have the method for contracting Soul Beasts appear in their minds?"
Dean Wu nodded. "That’s right."
Regarding the method for contracting Soul Beasts appearing in one’s mind, Han Ning had two theories.
’One, the Alatake Clan used the Gray Mist to hide some information, allowing any intelligent life form that appeared within the Gray Mist to obtain the method for contracting Soul Beasts.’
’Two, the reason is the same as the one for human transmigration, which is currently unknown.’
Even after his panel scanned the entirety of the fractured continent, it still couldn’t detect any anomalies.
Grey lacked the ability to carry a continent, and while the Vast Sea Profound Turtle Array could, they were already at full capacity.
’So... all I can do is let this fractured continent meet its own end.’
Just then, Irena’s figure appeared at the door of the conference room.
"Han Ning... and everyone..."
She glanced around at everyone in the meeting and said, "The fleet is about to reach the Thunder Continent. Please prepare for entry and relocation."
"Oh? We’re finally here!" Upon hearing this, Han Ning and the others stood up, their faces lit with pleasant surprise.
Ever since meeting Sage and Hom, they had been told how wonderful the Witch Spirit Race’s territory was, how beautiful the scenery, and how exceptionally rich the Spiritual Energy was—it was practically a paradise on earth.
「On the deck.」
The thousands of people inside the Yunlan Space had already gathered at its edge, peering down through the transparent clouds.
At the far edge of the vast, azure sea, the faint shadow of a landmass appeared.
Flickers of bluish-purple lightning sparked around the indistinct outline of the continental plate.
"The Thunder Continent..." Hom floated in mid-air, a rare look of excitement on his usually indifferent face.
"After more than ten thousand years, we’re finally returning home." Sage gazed toward the continent, a hint of reminiscence in his fiery eyes.
"I’ve already sent multiple entry requests. I believe the continent will dispatch an envoy to receive us soon," said Irena, who had joined Han Ning and Bobo Man on the head of the lead Vast Sea Profound Turtle.
The words had barely left her lips.
The once-clear sky was suddenly filled with dark clouds.
Thick, dark clouds gathered from all directions, roiling and spinning into a massive, deep, lead-gray vortex. Lightning surged within as the wind howled.
The cloud layer trembled violently as endless streams of ethereal blue starlight shot down from the distant heavens, plunging into the leaden clouds.
The rolling sound of thunder echoed ceaselessly as bluish-purple lightning crackled and leaped about wildly.
It coalesced into a behemoth with six wings, the head of an eagle, and the body of a tiger. Covered in crackling thunderbolts, it sent out a Spiritual Message that boomed like a thunderclap: "This is the Thunder Continent ahead. Halt your advance."
ZZZZZT—
All Beast Masters below Tier Five suddenly found flickering starlight appearing all over their bodies as their minds went momentarily blank.
Standing on the turtle’s head, Irena didn’t reply verbally. Instead, she raised her hand toward the giant beast’s mouth and shot out a speck of blue light.
The two sides seemed to complete an identity verification through some kind of mysterious communication.
In an instant, the lightning in the giant beast’s eyes died out, and its body exploded into a shower of electric serpents that scattered in the air.
The dark clouds dispersed, and the sky ahead became clear once more.
"That’s the Thunder Continent’s defensive measure against invasions by unusual creatures. It’s triggered by the approach of any aura stronger than a Lower Emperor Soul Beast. If there’s no response or retreat within five seconds, the intruders are killed without exception," Irena explained.
The other two nodded without a word.
The troop of Vast Sea Profound Turtles slowed their flight speed and continued forward for about another 500 kilometers.
The blurry coastline of the continent gradually came into focus.
At the same time, dozens of flashing bolts of lightning appeared from the edge of the continent.
They moved at extreme speed, wrapped in the resounding boom of thunder, transforming into dozens of bluish-purple streaks of light. They shot rapidly in front of the flock of turtles and materialized into Soul Beasts of various forms.
CRACK!
The thunderbolts completely dissipated, revealing humanoid figures standing atop the Soul Beasts.
At that moment, a person standing on a purple thunder lion, shrouded in a thick robe with their face hidden by a round, dark crystal mask, projected a tyrannical Spiritual Power forward:
"Where is Marquis Fengling?"
"Ah, so it is Your Excellency, Sosma."
Irena rode her Wind Elf off the turtle’s head, stopping in front of the large, robed man and performing a noble’s bow.
"I just received a message from His Highness Prince. For the next 500 years, the Thunder Continent will be sealed off to all intelligent races other than the Witch Spirit Race. No Alien Races will be permitted entry, and that includes these companions of yours." Sosma’s Spiritual Power boomed like a thunderclap, echoing in everyone’s Spiritual World.
"What... What is the meaning of this? Wasn’t it already agreed that His Highness would personally meet with His Highness Prince Bobo Man?" Irena’s elegant brows furrowed sharply upon hearing this.
"My apologies. There is a reason for all of this. About a month ago, the Alatak Clan released a batch of special creatures onto the Thunder Continent and the Northern Three Continents. They can freely change their appearance to look like Witch Spirit People, allowing them to bypass the detection of Spiritual Arrays and infiltrate major cities—even the royal capital’s core—to attack all living beings within."
"We suffered immense losses because of this sudden disaster. Later... the Spiritual Masters at the Elemental Research Institute analyzed the reason the invaders could freely change their faces—it comes from a type of red worm, which we have temporarily named the Bloody Worm."
"To prevent infiltration by the Bloody Worms, His Highness Prince collaborated with several other Highnesses from the north to devise this plan."
"But they are my friends! And this man is the direct heir of the former Deep Sea Race Clan Leader, His Excellency Bobo Ta. He is His Highness Prince Bobo Man, who is also a Spiritual Master. Can even they... not enter the Thunder Continent?"
Irena’s expression did not change.
"I am sorry... Your Excellency Irena. Even if the Saint Emperor of the Holy Crystal Race came here in person, we could not let him in."
Sosoma glanced at Bobo Man and Han Ning standing on the turtle’s head, then slowly and firmly shook his own.
"You...!!"
