Chapter 514: Chapter 333: Yin Yi’s Breakthrough (2)
"Second: The Beast Master’s Spiritual Power must reach Profound Moon quality. Together with the Soul Beast, they must enter a region deep within Subspace called the ’Sea of Death Stars.’ There, they must use their respective Spiritual Treasure Bodies to help the Soul Beast absorb the power of a Supernova and a Dead Star, construct the Yin Yang Life and Death Soul Formation, and channel it into the Jade Void Saint Realm."
"Third... the materials. Eighty-one Emperor Level Star Cores, forty-nine Emperor Level Wood Type Beast Soul Crystal Stones, an Emperor Star Soul Seed, an Emperor Wood Type Beast Soul Seed, and 300 tons of Void Stone..."
The more Han Ning read, the more his scalp tingled with dread.
’First off, just reaching Monarch IV strength will take a very long time. And that’s not even the most important part. The crucial thing is that my Spiritual Power’s quality must reach the Profound Moon level!’
It was common knowledge that Profound Moon Level quality was something typically only possessed by those at Tier Six.
And Han Ning was currently only at Tier Four, with Tier Five still a distant prospect.
’All in all... this doesn’t seem like something that can be done in a short time. I wonder if I can even help Yin Yi reach the Monarch Limit within five years.’
Theoretically, with a Monarch Level Energy Core and Bobo Man providing an ample supply of Soul Beast Crystal Stones, he didn’t need to worry about the energy for her body. The real bottleneck was comprehending her Domain.
’I have the Heaven-Reaching Tower. If I enter it to train during my rest time every day, my Spiritual Power Level should grow at a decent rate... And Bobo Man is sponsoring the materials. Thinking about it this way, helping Yin Yi evolve to A Talent isn’t so difficult after all.’
Han Ning’s eyes lit up at the thought.
For every obstacle, he had a shortcut to the finish line.
"Ling~"
Having finally broken through to the Monarch Level, Yin Yi was in high spirits. She quietly drifted down to Han Ning, Egg Pancake, and Fei Lin, spinning around them.
Specks of bright Starlight scattered down, illuminating the dark, deep seabed.
"Chirp chirp!" Egg Pancake grinned. It was also very happy about Sister Yin Yi’s breakthrough!
"Gumi~" The All-Encompassing Spiritual Silkworm was getting a little anxious. ’As the second brother of the team, if I don’t hurry up, I’m going to be overtaken by Little Sister Fei Lin.’
"Yiyi!!" Fei Lin seemed even more anxious. ’I’m the weakest one on the team! I have to break through to Monarch Level quickly so I can help Master get an outstanding trial score!’
The shapely Fei Lin puffed out her cheeks, staring with pure envy at the floating Sister Yin Yi.
"Congratulations."
"Brother Han Ning, congratulations!"
Irena and Lin Ke offered their congratulations at the same time.
"Thanks. It’s no big deal. It was just a natural progression for Yin Yi."
Han Ning smiled.
"Let’s keep moving."
Having two Monarch Level Soul Beasts placed them in the middle tier among the hundred or so Trialists, and that was with most of those Trialists being close to thirty years old.
Elites as young and powerful as Irena, or even Lin Ke, were definitely few and far between.
...
「Two days later.」
Raging flames billowed around Egg Pancake, and the dark red glow it emitted lit up the pitch-black surroundings, becoming one of only two light sources in the deep sea.
The Sea God Palace was simply teeming with life.
The most numerous creatures were the low-Talent Aquatic Soul Beasts below War General Level.
They formed a dense swarm, unafraid of the pressure emitted by High-Level Soul Beasts, and would occasionally drift slowly in front of the trio in schools of thousands, or even tens of thousands.
"According to the map, we should be approaching the Flood Dragon Ruins Area soon."
Lin Ke sat on Egg Pancake’s back, gazing at the scene ahead.
The small, azure Flood Dragon beside her was wrapped directly around one of Egg Pancake’s protruding bone spikes, looking quite content.
No sooner had she spoken than the scene ahead changed abruptly.
Strands of seaweed, on which grew colorful conches, covered a vast area ahead.
Egg Pancake paddled with its incomparably powerful limbs. Though not an Aquatic Soul Beast, the Giant Power from its robust body allowed it to shoot forward a great distance with every stroke, just like an arrow.
Before long, a massive shadow looming in the darkness appeared before the trio.
Han Ning could just barely make out the silhouette of densely packed buildings within the shadow.
’Why does this look so familiar? It seems like Xia Country-style architecture.’ He narrowed his eyes, using his Spiritual Power to quickly zoom in his vision.
As they drew closer, the bright light emanating from Egg Pancake finally illuminated a portion of the structures ahead.
A tall, dark red wall surrounded the buildings within.
Inside the wall stood several ancient-style buildings.
Pavilions, terraces, and towers, with flying eaves and upturned corners...
The structures were connected by jagged rockeries and winding stone bridges.
The largest building inside was a full three stories high and covered an area of at least a thousand square meters. Its doors and windows were tightly shut, making it impossible to see what was inside.
Outside the perimeter wall, a trench resembling an ancient moat separated the massive courtyard from the rest of the seabed.
Four long stone bridges spanned the trench.
Perhaps because they were on the seabed, the surfaces of the buildings were covered in a layer of green algae, making them look dim and lifeless.
The stone bridges, the perimeter wall, and the exterior walls of the halls were all carved with various types of Flood Dragons in all shapes and sizes.
"Qiu, Chi, Pan, Kui..." With just a brief look, he identified several different types of flood dragons.
The entire place faintly exuded a strange, eerie atmosphere.
’These Flood Dragon Ruins are practically an undersea Dragon Palace... I wonder which Dragon King’s residence this was.’ Han Ning’s mind filled with names straight out of immortal fantasy lore.
’But the architectural style is clearly man-made...’
"This is simply... unbelievable," Han Ning muttered to himself.
Having already witnessed the 36 Heavens, he had been through this kind of shock once before. Seeing this now, he found it somewhat easier to accept.
"Let’s go. We’ll head inside and take a look." As the temporary team leader, Irena gave the command.
Being underwater, the wall was no obstacle.
Egg Pancake followed the Wind Spirit, descending from above and landing steadily inside the courtyard.
Standing inside the courtyard was a different experience altogether.
The buildings were shrouded in gloom. As light fell upon the Flood Dragon carvings, the shadows they cast on the walls looked like real Flood Dragons swimming slowly, creating a bizarre and fantastical tableau.
"Rumor has it that the mortal remains of a Flood Dragon are hidden deep within these ruins! It’s a Dragon Type Holy Artifact that every Beast Master dreams of. Let’s hurry inside and look!" Lin Ke’s eyes were shining, her cheeks flushed with excitement.
But just as the words left her lips...
A violent fluctuation of Spiritual Energy erupted from the pitch-black depths ahead.
BOOM!!
In the pitch-black trench, a deep blue barrier of Flowing Light energy violently shattered.
A shockwave of Spiritual Energy visible to the naked eye spread out in all directions.
"Ruiyue, damn your immortal hide!!" "AWOOOO!!"
At the same time, the furious roars of a Beast Master and a Soul Beast echoed out.
The trio also sensed a frenzied Spiritual Power within the churning seawater.
"Looks like someone beat us to it." The three of them exchanged glances, waiting for Irena to speak.
"Wait, did you guys hear that? It sounded like someone was shouting Ruiyue’s name," Irena said, frowning.
"I did..." Han Ning nodded.
He had barely finished speaking when another furious roar echoed from ahead.
"You stole my treasure and hurt my Soul Beast! Do you really think the Dread Whale Race is a pushover?"
Immediately after, a terrifying whirlpool erupted on the pitch-black seabed, and flashes of lightning streaked through the water.
The brilliant flash of Thunder illuminated the entire area.
A pale blue Giant Whale rode the deep-sea undercurrents, swelling to an astonishing size at an incredible speed.
"MWOOOO!!"
A blinding light of Thunder flashed in its eyes as it let out a series of enraged calls.
"That’s Jing Lan from the Dread Whale Family! He’s fighting Ruiyue!" Lin Ke’s eyes widened. Her expression then shifted to one of urgent panic, as if a precious treasure was about to be stolen. She blurted out,
"Quick! Among the Dread Whale Beast Masters under 30, that Jing Lan guy only ranks fourth or fifth. He’s no match for Ruiyue at all! If we’re any later, that woman is going to snatch the Flood Dragon Race’s treasure!"
"Don’t rush. Stay calm. We’ll sneak over quietly." Irena’s eyes glinted. A gentle breeze from the Wind Spirit beneath her swept past, and the figures of the three humans and their Soul Beasts faded inch by inch, as if wiped away by an eraser.
