Why is This Troublemaker So Damn Rich?

Chapter 244 - 194: The Ridesharing Supercar

  • Next Chapter

Just as Serene was forcing herself to calm down and think of a plan, she suddenly saw Yang Hui’s Mercedes-Benz E-Class overtaking her on the left. The Mercedes was now in the same lane as the blond punks’ car.

The blond punks were waiting for the Range Rover to catch up, so they weren’t driving fast. Just then, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class suddenly accelerated, ramming straight into the rear of the "pure electric sports car." Since both vehicles were going in the same direction, the relative speed wasn’t high. Both cars felt the jolt of the collision, but no one was hurt.

At that moment, Serene received a call from Yang Hui. "You go on ahead to Xinyue Square. I’ll play with them for a bit."

Serene, who had been wondering why Yang Hui would crash his car, suddenly understood. He was getting her out of trouble. Worried that the situation would lead to a serious accident, he had preemptively caused a controlled collision with the punks’ car to force them to stop.

’That idiot. What if he got himself hurt?’

A sudden stir bloomed in Serene’s heart. She quickly pulled over onto the shoulder and turned on her hazard lights, but due to momentum, she ended up stopping over 100 meters away from Yang Hui and the others.

Yang Hui got out of his car. From the car ahead, the driver and passenger emerged—two young men who looked to be in their early twenties, around his own age. Their style, however, was rather cringey. Two blond punks.

"What the fuck, how do you drive? Do you know what car you just hit? Can you even afford to pay for it?"

Yang Hui couldn’t help but laugh. ’Scum like this, bragging about their car as if it’s a supercar. They’re really getting into character.’

"I’ve already called the police. Let’s wait for the traffic cops to handle it." Yang Hui turned on his hazard lights and placed a warning triangle behind his vehicle.

Seeing how calm he was, the two blond punks were instantly pissed off. He had ruined their fun of chasing a pretty girl, and on top of that, their precious car had been hit.

The one from the passenger seat—the same blond punk who had been shouting at Serene—hopped forward. He had to hop, really, because at around 1.73 meters tall, he had to look up at Yang Hui.

"Holy fuck, you’ve got some nerve! Do you have any idea you just hit a supercar? Can you afford to pay for this?"

He shouted, pointing a finger at Yang Hui.

"Don’t worry, the insurance company will pay you. My car is insured."

The calmer he was, the angrier the blond punk became. "The insurance company will pay just because you say so? This can’t be settled for less than 500,000, you know that? You drive a crappy Mercedes, what do you know about supercars? A lot of the parts have to be air-freighted from overseas."

’You’ve got to be kidding me. This was so absurd it was funny. Isn’t this a domestically produced "pure electric sports car"? What parts need to be air-freighted from overseas? And even if they were from abroad, couldn’t they be sent by sea? This piece of junk costs just over 200,000 yuan brand new, and he wants 500,000 in compensation for a fender bender? The fucking nerve of some people.’

When Yang Hui didn’t say anything, the blond punk thought he’d been scared by the 500,000 figure. He advanced on Yang Hui, pointing and shouting, "So what are you going to do? 500,000! Selling that car of yours wouldn’t even be enough to cover it!"

Seeing the man storm up to him, shouting and jabbing his finger, Yang Hui grabbed his arm, twisted it behind his back, and slammed him face down onto the hood of the car.

"OW! Fuck, what are you doing? It hurts, it hurts!"

When the other blond punk saw this, he started to move forward, but one cold glance from Yang Hui stopped him in his tracks. He stumbled back a few steps and stammered, "What are you doing? You hit my car and you’re still acting this arrogant?"

Yang Hui sneered. "I don’t like people pointing their fingers at me. Be more polite next time. Besides, this is a traffic accident. We’ll wait for the police to handle it." Then, to the punk he had pinned on the hood, he said, "Have you calmed down? If so, I’ll let you go."

"Let go, let go..."

The traffic police were highly efficient. A motorcycle cop arrived at the scene in no time. After getting a summary of the situation, he determined that Yang Hui was fully at fault and asked if he had any objections. Of course, he didn’t. In a rear-end collision, the car behind is always responsible.

"Are the cars still drivable?"

In truth, the collision wasn’t that severe. The front hood of Yang Hui’s Mercedes-Benz E-Class was buckled and the bumper was broken. As for the blond punk’s "pure electric supercar," its rear bumper was damaged, and the electric tailgate was likely broken as well.

The officer then asked about Yang Hui’s insurance and finally asked if they wanted to file a claim.

Yang Hui replied, "I’ve already called my insurance company. They’ll contact them shortly."

The officer nodded. At this point, the blond punk from the passenger seat, feeling emboldened by the policeman’s presence, shouted angrily, "My supercar is damaged! How much is the insurance company going to pay? A pittance! My losses are at least 500,000!"

Hearing this, the officer couldn’t help but glance at the car’s rear emblem. ’Yep, that’s right,’ he thought. ’This is a fucking car that costs a little over 200,000 yuan. How did he calculate 500,000 in damages?’

He couldn’t resist asking, "500,000?"

The blond punk nodded. "That’s right. This is a supercar, not something you can compare to his run-of-the-mill street car."

The officer was left a bit speechless. He pointed down the road. "Look, there goes a supercar exactly like yours. Oh, and there’s another one over there. This morning, I handled an accident involving the exact same model. The driver was using it for a rideshare service."

Yang Hui chuckled at the officer’s dry humor. The officer continued, "My only job is to help you file the accident report. After that, if you can accept the insurance company’s settlement, you go get the car repaired and follow the claims process. If you can’t accept it, you can file a civil lawsuit. All right, that’s it."

Just as he was about to leave, the officer’s phone rang. He stepped aside to answer it. Yang Hui noticed him glance at the blond punks’ license plate before saying, "Understood. Understood."
