Chapter 232: Chapter 232: Spiritual Vision, Campfire Traveler, Hero

The man clearly saw that Lance was the one who had brought his daughter back, and he immediately placed a hand on his chest and bowed in thanks.

"My name is Bazzer. I’m a Level 3 Minstrel."

Bazzer introduced his Profession quite naturally.

Among Professionals, as long as neither party deliberately used special Stealth Skills to conceal their aura, they could sense each other’s Tier through the Ethereal Fluctuations they emitted.

The moment he got close, Bazzer had already keenly sensed that Lance was a Professional who had just stepped through the threshold of his Class.

"I currently work as a columnist for *Campfire Traveler*, a famous publication under the Minstrel Association, and I specialize in tracking and reporting on the exploration progress of the various regional Underground Cities."

As he spoke, Bazzer’s tone was filled with a pride that came from his Profession.

"The Summer Crown has now begun all across the continent. The will of the Underground Cities awakened so suddenly this time, without any warning at all. Now, all of us Minstrels responsible for reporting are rushing day and night to our assigned Underground Cities to be stationed there."

Because his current Professional Level was only Level 3, association rules dictated that his assignments were limited to content concerning Level 1-5 Underground Cities. As it happened, his final destination this time was Gray Rock Town.

"I’m sorry for any trouble she’s caused."

Bazzer turned and patted Lilia’s head, his tone apologetic.

"The nature of my Profession requires me to travel between different towns all year round. On top of that, her mother fell ill and passed away a long time ago. I just can’t bring myself to leave her in a stranger’s care, so I have no choice but to keep her by my side."

Lance nodded in understanding at the explanation.

’It seems he really is her father, and they only have each other.’

After exchanging a few pleasantries in the corridor, Lance politely ended the conversation and turned to walk toward his premium cabin further down the hall.

As she watched Lance’s back disappear around the corner, Lilia reached out a small hand and tugged on the hem of Bazzer’s vest.

"Bazzer, that big brother is a Hero."

Bazzer, who was just about to take his daughter back to the lower deck to rest, stopped dead in his tracks.

He looked down at his daughter, his expression instantly turning solemn.

Bazzer knew.

His daughter had been born with a Spiritual Vision Talent, a power exceedingly rare on the continent.

Whenever she wished, she could accurately judge whether a person was friendly toward her. She could also see a kind of patterned projection existing behind them.

But for Ordinary people, the patterns were usually just a tangled mess of chaotic, colorful lines, from which nothing specific could be discerned.

When his daughter first haltingly described this phenomenon to him, Bazzer had no idea what this so-called Talent was for. He’d assumed it was merely a simple ability to distinguish good from evil.

That was until a few years ago, when he, as an assistant, had the honor of accompanying a senior from the association to visit a Hero of the Kingdom.

A young Lilia had been by his side at the time.

After the interview ended and they were leaving, Lilia secretly told him that the pattern behind the old gentleman was completely different from that of an Ordinary person.

She saw a lone figure standing before a horde of terrifying monsters, while behind him, countless tiny people were fleeing for their lives.

Only after that incident did Bazzer fully understand.

The manifested patterns his daughter saw might represent that the person had played a pivotal role in some major event.

"Lilia, what pattern did you see from him just now?"

His seasoned experience had allowed him to judge at a glance that the young man had a combat Profession, and most with combat Professions chose to participate in the Summer Crown.

Bazzer crouched down, shot a vigilant glance down both ends of the corridor, and deliberately lowered his voice to ask.

Lilia bit her finger and closed her eyes, carefully recalling the scene she had just witnessed.

"I saw a person wearing a black crown. Lots and lots of people were kneeling on the ground, holding treasures, and they were all scrambling to be the first to give them to him."

"The person wearing the crown was sitting up high, laughing loudly."

Hearing his daughter’s childlike description, Bazzer’s mind raced, trying to analyze the image’s meaning.

’He remembered that besides seeing these visions, the core of his daughter’s ability was accurately discerning a person’s fundamental nature—good or evil.’

’Since Lilia just determined the young man was definitely not a bad person, this vision of a crowned figure surely couldn’t be that of a Tyrant oppressing his people.’

’Looking at it from another angle, then... perhaps the image represented the young man having helped tens of thousands of people somewhere, and those people were offering him treasures out of pure, spontaneous gratitude.’

He and his daughter had traveled far and wide over the years, meeting countless people from all walks of life.

He had slowly noticed a pattern: people with these manifested images behind them were either powerful enough to influence world-altering events, or they possessed a potential beyond ordinary imagination.

But most of those people were already famous.

And yet, this young man, Lance, was the only person he had ever seen with such a manifested pattern who was a complete unknown within the *Campfire Traveler’s* intelligence network!

’This is unbelievable. How could someone grow to such a degree in such a short time?’

To Bazzer, who was desperate for a big scoop, this young man was a treasure trove in himself.

However...

"Sigh."

Bazzer stood up, took his daughter’s small hand once more, and walked back to his cabin, his mind heavy with thought.

His original plan for this trip had been to head directly to the Underground City on the outskirts of Gray Rock Town for a month-long, on-site, real-time reporting assignment.

According to his association’s internal intelligence network, within the first week of the Summer Crown’s start, that particular Underground City had already attracted several well-established and renowned teams from White River Province.

The rivalries and drama between these teams were more spectacular than any stage play.

Within the specific novice Tier known as Burning Fire, those few teams had practically monopolized the top ranks of fame among White River Province’s Underground City squads.

Two of them were even subordinate squads, specially created by major Adventurer Teams from the Royal Capital, and had already built up immense reputations through all kinds of hype.

Some of those teams had existed for decades. While their core members were constantly changing, the ability to maintain such a prominent name for so long was proof enough of the power of the financial consortiums behind them.

Furthermore, a recent major event in White River Province that implicated several organizations was causing a massive uproar.

During the Golden Mystery Realm, the annual grand event held by Mercurial—the god of equivalent exchange, wealth, and prosperity—those major organizations had engaged in a brutal and bloody conflict.

This animosity had spilled over directly into the current Summer Crown.

According to reliable sources, many notorious underground organizations had spent fortunes to assemble temporary squads specifically to ambush the famous teams of their rivals within the Underground City.

This would inevitably turn the Summer Crown in that Underground City into a Xiuluo Scene.

All grudges, new and old, were now out in the open.

For any Minstrel, this was the kind of red-hot material that would make their publications fly off the shelves.

He had planned on chasing these hot stories.

But now...

After hearing his daughter’s words, Bazzer’s resolve began to waver.

’He was tempted to go all-in and bet everything on that young man.’
